Biometrics provide quantitative representations of human features, physiological and behavioral. This book is a compilation of biometric technologies developed by various research groups in Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico. It provides a summary of biometric systems as a whole, explaining the principles behind physiological and behavioral biometrics and exploring different types of commercial and experimental technologies and current and future applications in the fields of security, military, criminology, healthcare education, business, and marketing.Examples of biometric systems using brain signals or electroencephalography (EEG) are given. Mobile and home EEG use in children's natural environments is covered. At the same time, some examples focus on the relevance of such technology in monitoring epileptic encephalopathies in children.Using reliable physiological signal acquisition techniques, functional Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) become possible. Esta obra, es la compilación de una serie de hallazgos derivados de experiencias de investigación, efectuadas durante el período de 2011 al 2020. La misma gira alrededor de entrevistas y etnografías basadas en actrices y actores involucrados en el comercio del sexo en los estados de Tlaxcala, Puebla y Veracruz. Aunque no fue el objetivo primordial al inicio de la pesquisa, esta publicación se propone ahora, como una fuente de consulta que sirva de referente para entender las dinámicas contemporáneas del comercio de sexo, involucrado la postura de los gobiernos, su participación, políticas, omisiones y violencias. Aquí presento un esfuerzo de mostrar una pequeña radiografía de un universo de estudio enorme. The vision of perfectionism as a multidimensional variable has gained weight in scientific evidence as social functioning sets more rigorous performance standards of an individual or group differentiation in any field (e.g., academic, sports, work, social, religious...). There is a need to establish how we achieve the goals we set ourselves in any field of action, thanks mainly to the creation of valid and reliable instruments to measure it. In today's societies, there is an increasing emphasis on how to respond to the demands of the environment as quickly as possible, being effective and achieving the best results. The demands of the environment make it possible to stimulate contextually (if they are seen as traits) and to construct perfectionist patterns and attitudes (if they are understood as learned cognitions or behaviors), which are usually associated with agonizing feelings of devaluation, incapacity or psychological vulnerability. Perfectionists are characterized by setting their goals too high as they are always on a quest to do things perfectly. In cases where they cannot do something perfectly, they do not even try, or they live with significant suffering that floods their lives, causing feelings of dissatisfaction and affecting their self-esteem, mainly because their attention is reduced to focusing only on the end of the tasks they perform, leaving the development of the task in the background. People who seek to do things perfectly are rigid when it comes to carrying them out, causing difficulty in adapting to changes, and preventing them from enjoying the present moment or taking advantage of their mistakes to improve themselves. In the same way, we can say that they reject reality, or at least they are reluctant to experience it in a way that is very different from the way they shape it. It is impossible to make everything perfect, as all people make mistakes, but perfectionists conceive failure as an expression of their maladjustment and for this reason, they generate high levels of anxiety, becoming people who try to control everything around them.

Este libro expone el efecto de la implementación de un programa de intervención dirigida a población infantil, que presenta un conjunto de dificultades comportamentales, y que pertenecen a sectores sociales vulnerables de la ciudad de Neiva. La obra se fundamenta en el contexto de las investigaciones realizadas a nivel mundial, latinoamericano y nacional sobre programas de evaluación e intervención enfocados en disminuir déficits comportamentales, que permitan una mejor adaptación de los niños a los diferentes ámbitos de su vida cotidiana. En este sentido, uno de los constructos más estudiados en relación con las dificultades del comportamiento es la cognición social, principalmente el dominio de la Teoría de la Mente (ToM) que, explica desde el punto de vista cognitivo, las deficiencias emocionales y comunicativas en situaciones sociales y las dificultades manifiestas en población con diagnóstico de trastornos asociados a sintomatología comportamental, como el trastorno disocial de la conducta (tdc) y el trastorno por déficit de atención e hiperactividad (tdah). El libro comienza con la presentación del desarrollo histórico y la conceptualización de los trastornos en cuestión; posteriormente, se describen las características familiares, clínicas, adaptativas; así como, el funcionamiento ejecutivo y de la cognición social en niños y niñas participantes del programa de intervención. En materia de medios de comunicación y acceso a la información, 2013 fue un año de claroscuros en Jalisco. En este periodo se combinaron hechos positivos, como la aparición de nuevas publicaciones periódicas y la discusión en torno a los cambios en ley de trasparencia y acceso a la información gubernamental; otros cuestionables, como la trasformación del Sistema Jalisciense de Radio y Televisión en un medio más oficialista, y unos más que podrían calificarse de reprobables, como las agresiones contra medios de comunicación y sus trabajadores, la reducción de la plantilla laboral de algunas empresas del sector y la eliminación de espacios ganados en favor de los lectores, como es el caso de la figura del ombudsman. En el sexto informe de Quid ITESO: Análisis crítico de medios se analizan estos y otros temas para los interesados en seguir el funcionamiento del sistema de medios de comunicación en Jalisco y así obtener un mejor panorama de su desarrollo.
