This new edition is a fully updated, comprehensive review of stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT): its physics, clinical evidence, indications, and future directions. The utilization of stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) is increasing internationally because of several factors. First, it offers patients a local treatment option that has demonstrated effectiveness similar to traditional surgery without the morbidity of general anesthesia and open surgical resection. Second, recent advancements in the quality of scientific evidence supporting a SRS or SBRT-containing approach in patients continues to evolve and demonstrate favorable disease-specific outcomes with little, if any, toxicity in various anatomic disease sites and for various conditions including cancer, benign tumors, and other psychiatric and neurologic conditions. Third, and most provocatively, is the notion that definitive local therapy (i.e. SRS or SBRT) in patients with cancer can boost the immune system to fight cancer in other sites throughout the body. This book offers a detailed guide to MR-Linac, a unique and fast growing radiation treatment modality. MR-linac is new technology that is a fusion of an MRI and a linear accelerator on the same gantry. It can change both target volume delineation and tumor visualization in real time using MR-cine images and treatment. Tumor location changes moment to moment as radiation is delivered, but this cannot be visualized in current radiation therapy practices. This new and rapidly growing technology can provide adaptive therapy that was not possible before. Im Detail stellte sich dies anders dar: Mit Begriffen wie ‚Bauhütte‘ und ‚Zunft‘ lassen sich die vielfältigen Formen lokaler Handwerksorganisation samt ihrer Einbindung in die Stadt- oder Landesherrschaften nicht beschreiben. Die konfliktreiche Geschichte dieser ‚Bauhütten‘ endete auch nicht im Spätmittelalter, sondern verzeichnete im 16. Jahrhundert einen immensen Aufschwung. Die Zahl der Haupthütten als Gerichtsorte der Steinmetzbruderschaft wuchs stetig an: vor 1500 auf fünf Standorte, bis 1515 um 13 weitere und 1563 wurden 22 Haupthütten bestätigt. Die Neubetrachtung der Geschichte des Straßburger Hüttenverbands basiert auf zahlreichen Quellen: Den Grundstock bildet ein im Goethe- und Schiller-Archiv Weimar verwahrter Quellen- und Manuskriptschatz zum Steinmetzhandwerk, den u.a. Sulpiz Boisserée zusammengetragen hatte, um diesen zu edieren. Dieses Vorhaben scheiterte – jedoch liegt nunmehr die Edition vor.

Sie beeinflussen mehr oder weniger direkt unser menschliches Selbstverständnis – von der Vorstellung erotischer Liebe als Akt der Verschmelzung des vormals Unvollständigen zu einem Ganzen über die freundschaftliche Liebe als Prinzip des Sozialen und die Idee universeller Nächstenliebe bis hin zur Liebe des Menschen zu Gott und zum Kosmos. With the dramatic changes in the extent to which women and men contribute to unpaid domestic work and paid employment, work and family life reconciliation has become more prominent than ever on the European Union agenda. This comparative study examines the Europeanisation patterns of work and family life reconciliation policies in a longstanding candidate country, Turkey and a founding member state, Germany, over the last decade, with a particular emphasis on intervening domestic actors and factors.
