This volume unpacks the phenomenon of skipped generation households—where children live with their grandparents and without their parents—as they become an increasingly common family dynamic in Nigeria and globally. The skipped generation household's emergence in sub-Saharan Africa has been driven by factors including the HIV/AIDS epidemic, labour-based migration, and ethno-religious conflicts. By examining the data from a national study on skipped generation households in Nigeria, contributions track benefits, opportunities, and effects associated with growing up in these households. Details including academic performance and career aspirations for grandchildren, as well as social-psychological and physical well-being of both them and their grandparents, are explored.

A wide variety of materials are discussed that contribute to robust hybrid electronics, including printable conductive composite inks, ceramics and ceramic matrix composites, polymer‑erived ceramics, thin metal films, elastomers, solders and epoxies, to name a few. Collectively, these materials and associated components are used to construct conductive traces, interconnects, antennas, pressure sensors, temperature sensors, power inducting devices, strain sensors and gauges, soft actuators, supercapacitors, piezo ionic elements, resistors, waveguides, filters, electrodes, batteries, various detectors, monitoring devices, transducers, and RF systems and graded dielectric, or graded index (GRIN) structures. New designs that incorporate the electronics as embedded materials into channels, slots and other methods to protect the electronics from the extreme elements of the operational environment are also envisioned to increase their survivability while remaining cognizant of the required frequency of replacement, reapplication and integration of power sources. Lastly, the ability of printer manufacturers, software providers and users to work together to build multi‑axis, multi‑material and commercial‑off‑the‑shelf (COTS) integration into user‑friendly systems will be a great advancement for the field of printed electronics.Therefore, the blueprint for manufacturing resilient hybrid electronics consists of novel designs that exploit the benefits of advances in additive manufacturing that are then efficiently paired with commercially available components to produce devices that exceed known constraints. As a primary example, metals can be deposited onto polymers in a variety of ways, including aerosol jetting, microdispensing, electroplating, sintering, vacuum deposition, supersonic beam cluster deposition, and plasma‑based techniques, to name a few. Taking these scientific discoveries and creatively combining them into robotic, multi‑material factories of the future could be one shared aim of the printed electronics community toward survivable device creation.

Ha llegado el momento de apostar por “lo bueno” en lugar de descartarlo y con ello, perder una gran oportunidad de oxigenar nuestra Justicia, bajo la inconsciente confianza en que “lo mejor” podrá todavía darle un soporte, que -reconozcámoslo ya-: resulta imposible. Con esta finalidad de ventilación y oxigenación de nuestra Justicia integral postmoderna, afrontamos ahora un análisis de todos y cada uno de los medios complementarios de solución de controversias (que serán objeto, probablemente de Ley específica, pues no han sido incorporados -contra todo pronóstico- en el reciente Real Decreto-ley 6/2023, de 19 de diciembre, por el que se aprueban medidas urgentes para la ejecución del Plan de Recuperación, Transformación y Resiliencia en materia, entre otras, de servicio público de Justicia), con especial énfasis, de los más fortalecidos, al menos por el momento, que son -indudablemente-: primero: la mediación y después, el arbitraje, instrumento – esta vez- heterocompositivo (por razón de la imposición de la respuesta)–, al que se destina -en adecuada compensación con su alter ego autocompositivo: la mediación- un libro específico, dentro de esta misma Serie (Transición Digital de la Justicia) titulado “Alternative Justice: Arbitraje 5.0”

There are around 340,000 Foreign Domestic Workers in Hong Kong, but the ways in which they experience migration is largely hidden in the homes of their employers. This book helps us to understand the complexities of migrant experiences by analysing the socio-spatial consequences that emerge from global migrant labour, and examining the capacity of the disenfranchised to create new spatialities by using public space to resist their disempowerment. This approach gives voice to a phenomenon silenced by the hegemony of mainstream urban economics and, in turn, reveals practices that cut across global labour. Cytokine Storm Syndromes, including HLH and MAS, are frequently fatal disorders, particularly if not recognized early and treated during presentation.
