Predicting the extent of massive wildfires once ignited is essential to reduce the subsequent socioeconomic losses and environmental damage, but challenging because of the complexity of fire behaviour. Existing physics-based models are limited in predicting large or long-duration wildfire events. Here, we develop a deep-learning-based predictive model, Fire-Image-DenseNet (FIDN), that uses spatial features derived from both near real-time and reanalysis data on the environmental and meteorological drivers of wildfire. We trained and tested this model using more than 300 individual wildfires that occurred between 2012 and 2019 in the western US. In contrast to existing models, the performance of FIDN does not degrade with fire size or duration. Furthermore, it predicts final burnt area accurately even in very heterogeneous landscapes in terms of fuel density and flammability. The FIDN model showed higher accuracy, with a mean squared error (MSE) about 82% and 67% lower than those of the predictive models based on cellular automata (CA) and the minimum travel time (MTT) approaches, respectively. Its structural similarity index measure (SSIM) averages 97%, outperforming the CA and FlamMap MTT models by 6% and 2%, respectively. Additionally, FIDN is approximately three orders of magnitude faster than both CA and MTT models. The RK3GL2 method is a numerical method for solving initial value problems in ordinary differential equations, and is a hybrid of a third-order Runge-Kutta method and two-point Gauss-Legendre quadrature. In this paper we present an analytical study of the propagation of local errors in this method, and show that the global order of RK3GL2 is expected to be four.

This study utilises linear-scaling density functional theory (DFT) and develops a new machine-learning potential for carbon and nitrogen (GAP-CN), based on the carbon potential (GAP20), to investigate the interaction between carbon self-interstitials and nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond, focusing on their excited states and diffusion behaviour. From the simulated excited states, 'Bright', 'Spike', and 'Dark' defect configurations are classified based on their absorption spectrum features. Furthermore, machine learning molecular dynamics simulation provides insight into the possible diffusion mechanism of Ci and NV, showing that Ci can diffuse away or recombine with NV. The study yields new insight into the formation of NV defects in diamond for quantum technology applications.

We investigate the spectroscopic characteristics of Intermediate Luminosity Red Transients (ILRTs), a class of elusive objects with peak luminosity between that of classical novae and standard supernovae. We present the extensive optical and near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopic monitoring of four ILRTs, namely NGC 300 2008OT-1, AT 2019abn, AT 2019ahd and AT 2019udc. First we focus on the evolution of the most prominent spectral features observed in the low resolution spectra, then we discuss more in detail the high resolution spectrum collected for NGC 300 2008OT-1 with the Very Large Telescope equipped with UVES. Finally we analyse late time spectra of NGC 300 2008OT-1 and AT 2019ahd through comparisons with both synthetic and observed spectra. Balmer and Ca lines dominate the optical spectra, revealing the presence of slowly moving circumstellar medium (CSM) around the objects. The line luminosity of H$\alpha$, H$\beta$ and Ca II NIR triplet presents a double peaked evolution with time, possibly indicative of interaction between fast ejecta and the slow CSM. The high resolution spectrum of NGC 300 2008OT-1 reveals a complex circumstellar environment, with the transient being surrounded by a slow ($\sim$30 km s$^{-1}$) progenitor wind. At late epochs, optical spectra of NGC 300 2008OT-1 and AT 2019ahd show broad ($\sim$2500 km s$^{-1}$) emission features at $\sim$6170 A and $\sim$7000 A which are unprecedented for ILRTs. We find that these lines originate most likely from the blending of several narrow lines, possibly of iron-peak elements., Comment: 28 pages, 19 figures. Submitted to A&A

We investigate the photometric characteristics of a sample of Intermediate Luminosity Red Transients (ILRTs), a class of elusive objects with peak luminosity between that of classical novae and standard supernovae. We present the multi-wavelength photometric follow-up of four ILRTs, namely NGC 300 2008OT-1, AT 2019abn, AT 2019ahd and AT 2019udc. Through the analysis and modelling of their spectral energy distribution and bolometric light curves we infer the physical parameters associated with these transients. All four objects display a single peaked light curve which ends in a linear decline in magnitudes at late phases. A flux excess with respect to a single black body emission is detected in the infrared domain for three objects in our sample, a few months after maximum. This feature, commonly found in ILRTs, is interpreted as a sign of dust formation. Mid infrared monitoring of NGC 300 2008OT-1 761 days after maximum allows us to infer the presence of $\sim$10$^{-3}$-10$^{-5}$ M$_{\odot}$ of dust, depending on the chemical composition and the grain size adopted. The late time decline of the bolometric light curves of the considered ILRTs is shallower than expected for $^{56}$Ni decay, hence requiring an additional powering mechanism. James Webb Space Telescope observations of AT 2019abn prove that the object has faded below its progenitor luminosity in the mid-infrared domain, five years after its peak. Together with the disappearance of NGC 300 2008OT-1 in Spitzer images seven years after its discovery, this supports the terminal explosion scenario for ILRTs. With a simple semi-analytical model we try to reproduce the observed bolometric light curves in the context of few M$_{\odot}$ of material ejected at few 10$^{3}$ km s$^{-1}$ and enshrouded in an optically thick circumstellar medium., Comment: 21 pages, 15 figures plus 20 additional pages of data in appendix. Superconductivity of iron chalocogenides is strongly enhanced under applied pressure yet its underlying pairing mechanism remains elusive. Here, we present a quantum oscillations study up to 45 T in the high-$T_c$ phase of tetragonal FeSe$_{0.82}$S$_{0.18}$ up to 22 kbar. Under applied pressure, the quasi-two dimensional multiband Fermi surface expands and the effective masses remain large, whereas the superconductivity displays a three-fold enhancement. Comparing with chemical pressure tuning of FeSe$_{1-x}$S$_x$, the Fermi surface enlarges in a similar manner but the effective masses and $T_c$ are suppressed. These differences may be attributed to the changes in the density of states influenced by the chalcogen height, which could promote stronger spin fluctuations pairing under pressure. Furthermore, our study also reveals unusual scattering and broadening of superconducting transitions in the high-pressure phase, indicating the presence of a complex pairing mechanism., Comment: 22 pages, 17 figures

We would like to enable a collaborative multiagent team to navigate at long length scales and under uncertainty in real-world environments. In practice, planning complexity scales with the number of agents in the team, with the length scale of the environment, and with environmental uncertainty. Enabling tractable planning requires developing abstract models that can represent complex, high-quality plans. However, such models often abstract away information needed to generate directly-executable plans for real-world agents in real-world environments, as planning in such detail, especially in the presence of real-world uncertainty, would be computationally intractable. In this paper, we describe the deployment of a planning system that used a hierarchy of planners to execute collaborative multiagent navigation tasks in real-world, unknown environments. By developing a planning system that was robust to failures at every level of the planning hierarchy, we enabled the team to complete collaborative navigation tasks, even in the presence of imperfect planning abstractions and real-world uncertainty. Using the recently developed multistate mapping approach to surface hopping (multistate MASH) method combined with SA(3)-CASSCF(12,12)/aug-cc-pVDZ electronic structure calculations, the gas-phase isotropic ultrafast electron diffraction (UED) of cyclobutanone is predicted and analyzed. After excitation into the n-3s Rydberg state (S$_2$), cyclobutanone can relax through two S$_2$/S$_1$ conical intersections, one characterized by compression of the \ce{CO} bond, the other by dissociation of the $\mathrm{\alpha}$-CC bond. Subsequent transfer into the ground state (S$_0$) is then achieved via two additional S$_1$/S$_0$ conical intersections that lead to three reaction pathways: $\mathrm{\alpha}$ ring-opening, ethene/ketene production, and \ce{CO} liberation. The isotropic gas-phase UED signal is predicted from the multistate MASH simulations, allowing for a direct comparison to experimental data. The upper critical field of multi-band superconductors can be an essential quantity to unravel the nature of superconducting pairing and its interplay with the electronic structure. Here we experimentally map out the complete upper critical field phase diagram of FeSe for different magnetic field orientations at temperatures down to 0.3 K using both resistivity and torque measurements. The temperature dependence of the upper critical field reflects that of a multi-band superconductor and requires a two-band description in the clean limit with band coupling parameters favouring interband over intraband interactions. Despite the relatively small Maki parameter in FeSe of $\alpha \sim 1.6$, the multi-band description of the upper critical field is consistent with the stabilization of a FFLO state below $T/T_{\rm c}\sim 0.3$. We find that the anomalous behaviour of the upper critical field is linked to a departure from the single-band picture, and FeSe provides a clear example where multi-band effects and the strong anisotropy of the superconducting gap need to be taken into account., Comment: 15 pages, 10 figures (manuscript and the supplemental materials

We study error propagation in both an explicit and an implicit method for solving Volterra integro-differential equations. We determine the relationship between local and global errors. We present implicit and explicit versions of a numerical algorithm for solving a Volterra integro-differential equation. These algorithms are an extension of our previous work, and cater for a kernel of general form. We use an appropriate test equation to study the stability of both algorithms, numerically deriving stability regions. The region for the implicit method appears to be unbounded, while the explicit has a bounded region close to the origin. We show how the error term for the Trapezium Rule can be estimated, by solving an initial value problem using a Runge-Kutta method. The error term can then be added to the Trapezium approximation, yielding a much more accurate result. We also show how the risk of singularities in the relevant initial value problem can be mitigated.

We describe an algorithm, based on Euler's method, for solving Volterra integro-differential equations. The algorithm approximates the relevant integral by means of the composite Trapezium Rule, using the discrete nodes of the independent variable as the required nodes for the integration variable. We have developed an error control device, using Richardson extrapolation, and we have achieved accuracy better than 1e-12 for all numerical examples considered., Comment: 11 pages

We transform a double integral into a second-order initial value problem, which we solve using Euler's method and Richardson extrapolation. We report on a novel algorithm for controlling global error in a step-by-step (stepwise) sense, in the numerical solution of a scalar, autonomous, nonstiff or weakly stiff problem. The algorithm exploits the remainder term of a Taylor expansion of the solution. It requires the use of the DP853 triple to solve an auxiliary problem which, in turn, enables the remainder term to be determined. We determine the pointwise error in Hermite interpolation by numerically solving an appropriate differential equation, derived from the error term itself. We use this knowledge to approximate the error term by means of a polynomial, which is then added to the original Hermite polynomial to form a more accurate approximation. When discovered, SN~2017egm was the closest (redshift $z=0.03$) hydrogen-poor superluminous supernova (SLSN-I) and a rare case that exploded in a massive and metal-rich galaxy. Thus, it has since been extensively observed and studied. We report spectroscopic data showing strong emission at around He~I $\lambda$10,830 and four He~I absorption lines in the optical. Consequently, we classify SN~2017egm as a member of an emerging population of helium-rich SLSNe-I (i.e., SLSNe-Ib). We also present our late-time photometric observations. By combining them with archival data, we analyze high-cadence ultra-violet, optical, and near-infrared light curves spanning from early pre-peak ($\sim -20\,d$) to late phases ($\sim +300\,d$). We obtain its most complete bolometric light curve, in which multiple bumps are identified. None of the previously proposed models can satisfactorily explain all main light-curve features, while multiple interactions between the ejecta and circumstellar material (CSM) may explain the undulating features. The prominent infrared excess with a blackbody luminosity of $10^7$--$10^8\,L_{sun}$ detected in SN~2017egm could originate from the emission of either an echo of a pre-existing dust shell, or newly-formed dust, offering an additional piece of evidence supporting the ejecta-CSM interaction model. Moreover, our analysis of deep $Chandra$ observations yields the tightest-ever constraint on the X-ray emission of an SLSN-I, amounting to an X-ray-to-optical luminosity ratio $\lesssim 10^{-3}$ at late phases ($\sim100-200\,d$), which could help explore its close environment and central engine., Comment: 25 pages, 14 Figures, 4 Tables; accepted for publication in ApJ (Mar. 2023)

We study the efficiency of the multisection method for univariate nonlinear equations, relative to that for the well-known bisection method. We show that there is a minimal effort algorithm that uses more sections than the bisection method, although this optimal algorithm is problem dependent. We determine the Lagrange function in Taylor polynomial approximation by solving an appropriate initial-value problem. Hence, we determine the remainder term which we then approximate by means of a natural cubic spline. This results in a significant improvement in the quality of the Taylor approximation. Lung ultrasound (LUS) is an important imaging modality used by emergency physicians to assess pulmonary congestion at the patient bedside. B-line artifacts in LUS videos are key findings associated with pulmonary congestion. Not only can the interpretation of LUS be challenging for novice operators, but visual quantification of B-lines remains subject to observer variability. In this work, we investigate the strengths and weaknesses of multiple deep learning approaches for automated B-line detection and localization in LUS videos. We curate and publish, BEDLUS, a new ultrasound dataset comprising 1,419 videos from 113 patients with a total of 15,755 expert-annotated B-lines. Based on this dataset, we present a benchmark of established deep learning methods applied to the task of B-line detection. To pave the way for interpretable quantification of B-lines, we propose a novel "single-point" approach to B-line localization using only the point of origin. Our results show that (a) the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve ranges from 0.864 to 0.955 for the benchmarked detection methods, (b) within this range, the best performance is achieved by models that leverage multiple successive frames as input, and (c) the proposed single-point approach for B-line localization reaches an F1-score of 0.65, performing on par with the inter-observer agreement. Small molecule organic semiconductors hold great promise for efficient, printable, and flexible optoelectronic applications like solar cells and displays. However, strong excited-state quenching due to uncontrolled aggregation currently limits their performance and employability in devices. Here, we report on the self-assembly of a supramolecular pseudo-cube formed from six modified tetradentate perylene diimides (PDIs). The rigid, shape-persistent cage sets the distance and orientation of the PDI chromophores and suppresses intramolecular rotations and vibrations, leading to non-aggregated, monomer-like electronic properties in solution as well as in the solid state, in contrast to the fast fluorescence quenching in the free ligand. The stabilized excited state and electronic purity of the cage enable the observation of delayed fluorescence due to a bright excited multimer state, which acts as an excited state reservoir, due to a rare case of benign inter-chromophore interactions in the cage. Our results suggest that not only the photophysical properties of the subcomponents but the geometric structure is crucial for the overall optoelectronic properties of supramolecular systems. We show that self-assembly provides a powerful tool for retaining and controlling the electronic properties of well-studied chromophores, providing a route to bring molecular electronics applications in reach.

This work examines the relationships between the properties (flux ratios, full width at half-maximum velocities) of the [O I] $\lambda\lambda$6300, 6364, [Ca II] $\lambda\lambda$7291, 7323, and the Ca II near-infrared triplet, emission lines of a large sample of core-collapse supernovae (SNe) and Ca-rich transients (509 spectra of 86 transients, of which 10 transients are Ca-rich events). Line-flux ratios as a function of time were investigated with differences identified between the transient classes, in particular the Type II SNe were found to have distinct line-flux ratios compared to stripped-envelope (SE) SNe. No correlation was found between the [Ca II]/[O I] flux ratios of SE-SNe and their ejecta masses and kinetic energies (as measured from light curve modelling), suggesting that there may be a contribution from an additional power source in more luminous SE-SNe. We found that the mean characteristic width of the [Ca II] emission line is less than the [O I] emission line for all SN types, indicating that the [Ca II] emission typically originates from deeper in the ejecta than [O I]. This is in some tension with standard models for emission in Type II SNe. The emission line properties of Type II SNe were also compared to theoretical models and found to favour lower mass tracks ($M_\mathrm{ZAMS}$ $<$ 15 M$_{\odot}$), with no evidence found for significant mixing of $^{56}$Ni into the H envelope nor Ca mixed into the O shell. The flux ratios of some superluminous SNe were found to be similar to those of SE-SNe when scaling to account for their longer rise times was applied (although we caution the sample size is small)., Comment: 21 pages, 12 figures, accepted for publication in MNRAS

Quantum embedding schemes have the potential to significantly reduce the computational cost of first principles calculations, whilst maintaining accuracy, particularly for calculations of electronic excitations in complex systems. In this work, I combine time-dependent embedded mean field theory (TD-EMFT) with linear-scaling density functional theory and implicit solvation models, extending previous work within the ONETEP code. This provides a way to perform multi-level calculations of electronic excitations on very large systems, where long-range environmental effects, both quantum and classical in nature, are important. I demonstrate the power of this method by performing simulations on a variety of systems, including a molecular dimer, a chromophore in solution, and a doped molecular crystal. This work paves the way for high accuracy calculations to be performed on large-scale systems that were previously beyond the reach of quantum embedding schemes.

Using data from the Complete Nearby ($z_{host}<0.02$) sample of Type Ia Supernovae (CNIa0.02), we discover a linear relation between two parameters derived from the $B-V$ color curves of Type Ia supernovae: the "color stretch" $s_{BV}$ and the rising color slope $s_0^*(B-V)$ after the peak, and this relation applies to the full range of $s_{BV}$. The $s_{BV}$ parameter is known to be tightly correlated with the peak luminosity, and especially for "fast decliners" (dim Type Ia supernovae), and the luminosity correlation with $s_{BV}$ is markedly better than with the classic light-curve width parameters such as $\Delta{m_{15}(B)}$. Thus our new linear relation can be used to infer peak luminosity from $s_0^*$. Unlike $s_{BV}$ (or $\Delta{m_{15}}$), the measurement of $s_0^*(B-V)$ does not rely on the well-determined time of light-curve peak or color maximum, making it less demanding on the light-curve coverage than past approaches., Comment: Submitted to AAS Journals, 7 pages, 4 figures

We present observations of three Core-collapse supernovae (CCSNe) in elliptical hosts, detected by the Zwicky Transient Facility Bright Transient Survey (BTS). SN 2019ape is a SN Ic that exploded in the main body of a typical elliptical galaxy. Its properties are consistent with an explosion of a regular SN Ic progenitor. A secondary g-band light curve peak could indicate interaction of the ejecta with circumstellar material (CSM). An H$\alpha$-emitting source at the explosion site suggests a residual local star formation origin. SN 2018fsh and SN 2020uik are SNe II which exploded in the outskirts of elliptical galaxies. SN 2020uik shows typical spectra for SNe II, while SN 2018fsh shows a boxy nebular H$\alpha$ profile, a signature of CSM interaction. We combine these 3 SNe with 7 events from the literature and analyze their hosts as a sample. We present multi-wavelength photometry of the hosts, and compare this to archival photometry of all BTS hosts. Using the spectroscopically complete BTS we conclude that $0.3\%^{+0.3}_{-0.1}$ of all CCSNe occur in elliptical galaxies. We derive star-formation rates and stellar masses for the host-galaxies and compare them to the properties of other SN hosts. We show that CCSNe in ellipticals have larger physical separations from their hosts compared to SNe Ia in elliptical galaxies, and discuss implications for star-forming activity in elliptical galaxies., Comment: Comments are welcome. The division between stripped-envelope supernovae (SE-SNe) and superluminous supernovae (SLSNe) is not well defined in either photometric or spectroscopic space. While a sharp luminosity threshold has been suggested, there remains an increasing number of transitional objects that reach this threshold without the spectroscopic signatures common to SLSNe. In this work we present data and analysis on four SNe transitional between SE-SNe and SLSNe; the He-poor SNe 2019dwa and 2019cri, and the He-rich SNe 2019hge and 2019unb. Each object displays long-lived and variable photometric evolution with luminosities around the SLSN threshold of $M_r < -19.8$ mag. Spectroscopically however, these objects are similar to SE-SNe, with line velocities lower than either SE-SNe and SLSNe, and thus represent an interesting case of rare transitional events., Comment: Accepted for publication in MNRAS

We present the spectroscopic and photometric study of five intermediate-luminosity red transients (ILRTs), namely AT 2010dn, AT 2012jc, AT 2013la, AT 2013lb, and AT 2018aes. They share common observational properties and belong to a family of objects similar to the prototypical ILRT SN~2008S. These events have a rise time that is less than 15 days and absolute peak magnitudes of between $-11.5$ and $-14.5$ mag. Their pseudo-bolometric light curves peak in the range $0.5$ - $9.0 \times10^{40}~\mathrm{erg~s}^{-1}$ and their total radiated energies are on the order of (0.3 - 3) $\times$~10$^{47}$~erg. After maximum brightness, the light curves show a monotonic decline or a plateau, resembling those of faint supernovae IIL or IIP, respectively. At late phases, the light curves flatten, roughly following the slope of the $^{56}$Co decay. If the late-time power source is indeed radioactive decay, these transients produce $^{56}$Ni masses on the order of $10^{-4}$ to $10^{-3}$~\msun. The spectral energy distribution of our ILRT sample, extending from the optical to the mid-infrared (MIR) domain, reveals a clear IR excess soon after explosion and non-negligible MIR emission at very late phases. The spectra show prominent H lines in emission with a typical velocity of a few hundred km~s$^{-1}$, along with Ca~II features. In particular, the [Ca~II] $\lambda$7291,7324 doublet is visible at all times, which is a characteristic feature for this family of transients. The identified progenitor of SN~2008S, which is luminous in archival Spitzer MIR images, suggests an intermediate-mass precursor star embedded in a dusty cocoon. Stripped-envelope supernovae (SE-SNe) show a wide variety of photometric and spectroscopic properties. This is due to the different potential formation channels and the stripping mechanism that allows for a large diversity within the progenitors outer envelop compositions. Here, the photometric and spectroscopic observations of SN 2020cpg covering $\sim 130$ days from the explosion date are presented. SN 2020cpg ($z = 0.037$) is a bright SE-SNe with the $B$-band peaking at $M_{B} = -17.75 \pm 0.39$ mag and a maximum pseudo-bolometric luminosity of $L_\mathrm{max} = 6.03 \pm 0.01 \times 10^{42} \mathrm{ergs^{-1}}$. Spectroscopically, SN 2020cpg displays a weak high and low velocity H$\alpha$ feature during the photospheric phase of its evolution, suggesting that it contained a detached hydrogen envelope prior to explosion. From comparisons with spectral models, the mass of hydrogen within the outer envelope was constrained to be $\sim 0.1 \mathrm{M}_{\odot}$. From the pseudo-bolometric light curve of SN 2020cpg a $^{56}$Ni mass of $M_\mathrm{Ni} \sim 0.27 \pm 0.08$ $\mathrm{M}_{\odot}$ was determined using an Arnett-like model. The ejecta mass and kinetic energy of SN 2020cpg were determined using an alternative method that compares the light curve of SN 2020cpg and several modelled SE-SNe, resulting in an ejecta mass of $M_\mathrm{ejc} \sim 5.5 \pm 2.0$ $\mathrm{M}_{\odot}$ and a kinetic energy of $E_\mathrm{K} \sim 9.0 \pm 3.0 \times 10^{51} \mathrm{erg}$. The ejected mass indicates a progenitor mass of $18 - 25 \mathrm{M}_{\odot}$. When calculating the optical absorption spectra of molecular crystals from first principles, the influence of the crystalline environment on the excitations is of significant importance. For such systems, however, methods to describe the excitations accurately can be computationally prohibitive due to the relatively large system sizes involved. In this work, we demonstrate a method that allows optical absorption spectra to be computed both efficiently and at high accuracy. Our approach is based on the spectral warping method successfully applied to molecules in solvent. It involves calculating the absorption spectrum of a supercell of the full molecular crystal using semi-local TDDFT, before warping the spectrum using a transformation derived from smaller-scale semi-local and hybrid TDDFT calculations on isolated dimers. We demonstrate the power of this method on three polymorphs of the well known colour polymorphic compound ROY, and find that it outperforms both small-scale hybrid TDDFT dimer calculations and large-scale semi-local TDDFT supercell calculations, when compared to experiment., Comment: Updated to include changes in response to peer review process

Strain is a powerful experimental tool to explore new electronic states and understand unconventional superconductivity. Here, we investigate the effect of uniaxial strain on the nematic and superconducting phase of single crystal FeSe using magnetotransport measurements. We find that the resistivity response to the strain is strongly temperature dependent and it correlates with the sign change in the Hall coefficient being driven by scattering, coupling with the lattice and multiband phenomena. Band structure calculations suggest that under strain the electron pockets develop a large in-plane anisotropy as compared with the hole pocket. Magnetotransport studies at low temperatures indicate that the mobility of the dominant carriers increases with tensile strain. Close to the critical temperature, all resistivity curves at constant strain cross in a single point, indicating a universal critical exponent linked to a strain-induced phase transition. Our results indicate that the superconducting state is enhanced under compressive strain and suppressed under tensile strain, in agreement with the trends observed in FeSe thin films and overdoped pnictides, whereas the nematic phase seems to be affected in the opposite way by the uniaxial strain. By comparing the enhanced superconductivity under strain of different systems, our results suggest that strain on its own cannot account for the enhanced high $T_c$ superconductivity of FeSe systems., Comment: 11 pages, 8 figures

SN 2017ein is a narrow-lined Type Ic SN that was found to share a location with a point-like source in the face on spiral galaxy NGC 3938 in pre-supernova images, making SN 2017ein the first credible detection of a Type Ic progenitor. Results in the literature suggest this point-like source is likely a massive progenitor of 60-80 M$_{\odot}$, depending on if the source is a binary, a single star, or a compact cluster. Using new photometric and spectral data collected for 200 days, including several nebular spectra, we generate a consistent model covering the photospheric and nebular phase using a Monte Carlo radiation transport code. Photospheric phase modelling finds an ejected mass 1.2-2.0 M$_{\odot}$ with an $E_\mathrm{k}$ of $\sim(0.9 \pm0.2)\times 10^{51}$ erg, with approximately 1 M$_{\odot}$ of material below 5000 km s$^{-1}$ found from the nebular spectra. Both photospheric and nebular phase modelling suggests a $^{56}$Ni mass of 0.08-0.1 M$_{\odot}$. Modelling the [\OI] emission feature in the nebular spectra suggests the innermost ejecta is asymmetric. The modelling results favour a low mass progenitor of to 16-20 M$_{\odot}$, which is in disagreement with the pre-supernova derived high mass progenitor. In this work, we present photometric and spectroscopic data of the low-luminosity Type IIP supernova (SN) 2018hwm. The object shows a faint ($M_r=-15$ mag) and very long ($\sim$130 days) plateau, followed by a 2.7 mag drop in the $r$-band to the radioactive tail. The first spectrum shows a blue continuum with narrow Balmer lines, while during the plateau the spectra show numerous metal lines, all with strong and narrow P-Cygni profiles. The expansion velocities are low, in the 1000-1400 km s$^{-1}$ range. The nebular spectrum, dominated by H$\alpha$ in emission, reveals weak emission from [O I] and [Ca II] doublets. The absolute light curve and spectra at different phases are similar to those of low-luminosity SNe IIP. We estimate that 0.0085 $M_{\odot}$ of $^{56}$Ni mass were ejected, through hydrodynamical simulations. The best fit of the model to the observed data is found for an extremely low explosion energy of 0.075 foe, a progenitor radius of 845 $R_{\odot}$ and a final progenitor mass of 9-10 $M_{\odot}$. Finally, we performed a modeling of the nebular spectrum, to establish the amount of oxygen and calcium ejected. We found a low M($^{16}$O)$\approx 0.02$ $M_{\odot}$, but a high M($^{40}$Ca) of 0.3 $M_{\odot}$. The inferred low explosion energy, the low ejected $^{56}$Ni mass and the progenitor parameters, along with peculiar features observed in the nebular spectrum, are consistent with both an electron-capture SN explosion of a super-asymptotic giant branch star and with a low-energy, Ni-poor iron core-collapse SN from a 10-12 $M_{\odot}$ red supergiant., Comment: 15 pages, 8 figures, 6 tables, updated the progenitor parameters after the submission of an Erratum

The CNIa0.02 project aims to collect a complete, nearby sample of Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) light curves, and the SNe are volume-limited with host-galaxy redshifts z_host < 0.02. The main scientific goal is to infer the distributions of key properties (e.g., the luminosity function) of local SNe Ia in a complete and unbiased fashion in order to study SN explosion physics. We spectroscopically classify any SN candidate detected by the All-Sky Automated Survey for Supernovae (ASAS-SN) that reaches peak brightness < 16.5 mag. Since ASAS-SN scans the full sky and does not target specific galaxies, our target selection is effectively unbiased by host-galaxy properties. We perform multi-band photometric observations starting from the time of discovery. In the first data release (DR1), we present the optical light curves obtained for 247 SNe from our project (including 148 SNe in the complete sample), and we derive parameters such as the peak fluxes, dm15 and s_BV., Comment: published in ApJS

We present the data and analysis of SN 2018gjx, an unusual low-luminosity transient with three distinct spectroscopic phases. Phase I shows a hot blue spectrum with signatures of ionised circumstellar material (CSM), Phase II has the appearance of broad SN features, consistent with those seen in a Type IIb supernova at maximum light, and Phase III is that of a supernova interacting with helium-rich CSM, similar to a Type Ibn supernova. This event provides an apparently rare opportunity to view the inner workings of an interacting supernova. The observed properties can be explained by the explosion of a star in an aspherical CSM. The initial light is emitted from an extended CSM (~ 4000 Rsun), which ionises the exterior unshocked material. Some days after, the SN photosphere envelops this region, leading to the appearance of a SN IIb. Over time, the photosphere recedes in velocity space, revealing interaction between the supernova ejecta and the CSM that partially obscures the supernova nebular phase. Modelling of the initial spectrum reveals a surface composition consistent with compact H-deficient Wolf-Rayet and LBV stars. Such configurations may not be unusual, with SNe IIb being known to have signs of interaction so at least some SNe IIb and SNe Ibn may be the same phenomena viewed from different angles or, possibly with differing CSM configurations., Comment: Accepted for publication in MNRAS

The hydrogen-poor supernova PTF11rka (z = 0.0744), reported by the Palomar Transient Factory, was observed with various telescopes starting a few days after the estimated explosion time of 2011 Dec. 5 UT and up to 432 rest-frame days thereafter. The rising part of the light curve was monitored only in the R_PTF filter band, and maximum in this band was reached ~30 rest-frame days after the estimated explosion time. The light curve and spectra of PTF11rka are consistent with the core-collapse explosion of a ~10 Msun carbon-oxygen core evolved from a progenitor of main-sequence mass 25--40 Msun, that liberated a kinetic energy (KE) ~ 4 x 10^{51} erg, expelled ~8 Msun of ejecta (Mej), and synthesised ~0.5 Msun of 56Nichel. The photospheric spectra of PTF11rka are characterised by narrow absorption lines that point to suppression of the highest ejecta velocities ~>15,000 km/s. This would be expected if the ejecta impacted a dense, clumpy circumstellar medium. This in turn caused them to lose a fraction of their energy (~5 x 10^50 erg), less than 2% of which was converted into radiation that sustained the light curve before maximum brightness. This is reminiscent of the superluminous SN 2007bi, the light-curve shape and spectra of which are very similar to those of PTF11rka, although the latter is a factor of 10 less luminous and evolves faster in time. PTF11rka is in fact more similar to gamma-ray burst supernovae (GRB-SNe) in luminosity, although it has a lower energy and a lower KE/Mej ratio., Comment: 18 page, 9 figures, MNRAS, in press

Early observations of Type Ia supernovae (SNe$\,$Ia) provide essential clues for understanding the progenitor system that gave rise to the terminal thermonuclear explosion. We present exquisite observations of SN$\,$2019yvq, the second observed SN$\,$Ia, after iPTF$\,$14atg, to display an early flash of emission in the ultraviolet (UV) and optical. Our analysis finds that SN$\,$2019yvq was unusual, even when ignoring the initial flash, in that it was moderately underluminous for an SN$\,$Ia ($M_g \approx -18.5\,$mag at peak) yet featured very high absorption velocities ($v \approx 15,000\,\mathrm{km\,s}^{-1}$ for Si II $\lambda$6355 at peak). We find that many of the observational features of SN$\,$2019yvq, aside from the flash, can be explained if the explosive yield of radioactive $^{56}\mathrm{Ni}$ is relatively low (we measure $M_{^{56}\mathrm{Ni}} = 0.31 \pm 0.05\,M_\odot$) and it and other iron-group elements are concentrated in the innermost layers of the ejecta. To explain both the UV/optical flash and peak properties of SN$\,$2019yvq we consider four different models: interaction between the SN ejecta and a nondegenerate companion, extended clumps of $^{56}\mathrm{Ni}$ in the outer ejecta, a double-detonation explosion, and the violent merger of two white dwarfs. Each of these models has shortcomings when compared to the observations; it is clear additional tuning is required to better match SN$\,$2019yvq. In closing, we predict that the nebular spectra of SN$\,$2019yvq will feature either H or He emission, if the ejecta collided with a companion, strong [Ca II] emission, if it was a double detonation, or narrow [O I] emission, if it was due to a violent merger., Comment: 27 pages, 14 figures, accepted in ApJ

At the age of about 1 year, the spectra of most Type Ia supernovae are dominated by strong forbidden nebular emission lines of FeII and FeIII. Later observations (at about 2 years) of the nearby SN 2011fe showed an unexpected shift of ionization to FeI and FeII. Spectra of the very nearby SN Ia 2014J at an intermediate phase (1 - 1.5 years) that are presented here show a progressive decline of FeIII emission, while FeI is not yet strong. The decrease in ionization can be explained if the degree of clumping in the ejecta increases significantly at ~1.5 years, at least in the Fe-dominated zone. Models suggest that clumps remain coherent after about one year, behaving like shrapnel. The high density in the clumps, combined with the decreasing heating rate, would then cause recombination. These data may witness the phase of transition from relatively smooth ejecta to the very clumpy morphology that is typical of SN remnants. We present optical photometric and spectroscopic observations of the faint-and-fast evolving type Iax SN 2019gsc, extending from the time of g-band maximum until about fifty days post maximum, when the object faded to an apparent r-band magnitude m_r = 22.48+/-0.11 mag. SN 2019gsc reached a peak luminosity of only M_g = -13.58 +/- 0.15 mag, and is characterised with a post-maximum decline rate Delta(m_15)_g = 1.08 +/- 0.14 mag. These light curve parameters are comparable to those measured for SN 2008ha of M_g = -13.89 +/- 0.14 mag at peak and Delta(m_15)_g = 1.80 +/- 0.03 mag. The spectral features of SN 2019gsc also resemble those of SN 2008ha at similar phases. This includes both the extremely low ejecta velocity at maximum, about 3,000 km/s, and at late-time (phase +54 d) strong forbidden iron and cobalt lines as well as both forbidden and permitted calcium features. Furthermore, akin to SN 2008ha, the bolometric light curve of SN 2019gsc is consistent with the production of 0.003 +/- 0.001 Msol of nickel. The explosion parameters, M_ej = 0.13 Msol and E_k = 12 x 10E48 erg, are also similar to those inferred for SN 2008ha. We estimate a sub-solar oxygen abundance for the host galaxy of SN 2019gsc, (12 + log10(O/H) = 8.10 +/- 0.18 dex), consistent with the equally metal-poor environment of SN 2008ha. Altogether, our dataset of SN 2019gsc indicates that this is a member of a small but growing group of extreme SN Iax that includes SN 2008ha and SN 2010ae., Comment: 13 pages, 10 figures. Recent studies have shown how the distribution of $^{56}$Ni within the ejecta of type Ia supernovae can have profound consequences on the observed light curves. Observations at early times can therefore provide important details on the explosion physics in thermonuclear supernovae. We present a series of radiative transfer calculations that explore variations in the $^{56}$Ni distribution. Our models also show the importance of the density profile in shaping the light curve, which is often neglected in the literature. Using our model set, we investigate the observations that are necessary to determine the $^{56}$Ni distribution as robustly as possible within the current model set. We find that this includes observations beginning at least $\sim$14 days before $B$-band maximum, extending to approximately maximum light with a high ($\lesssim$3 day) cadence, and in at least one blue and one red band are required (such as $B$ and $R$, or $g$ and $r$). We compare a number of well-observed type Ia supernovae that meet these criteria to our models and find that the light curves of $\sim$70-80\% of objects in our sample are consistent with being produced solely by variations in the $^{56}$Ni distributions. The remaining supernovae show an excess of flux at early times, indicating missing physics that is not accounted for within our model set, such as an interaction or the presence of short-lived radioactive isotopes. Comparing our model light curves and spectra to observations and delayed detonation models demonstrates that while a somewhat extended $^{56}$Ni distribution is necessary to reproduce the observed light curve shape, this does not negatively affect the spectra at maximum light. Investigating current explosion models shows that observations typically require a shallower decrease in the $^{56}$Ni mass towards the outer ejecta than is produced for models of a given $^{56}$Ni mass., Comment: 31 pages, 32 figures, 2 tables. This paper describes the rapidly evolving and unusual supernova LSQ13ddu, discovered by the La Silla-QUEST survey. LSQ13ddu displayed a rapid rise of just 4.8$\pm$0.9 d to reach a peak brightness of $-$19.70$\pm$0.02 mag in the $\mathit{LSQgr}$ band. Early spectra of LSQ13ddu showed the presence of weak and narrow He I features arising from interaction with circumstellar material (CSM). These interaction signatures weakened quickly, with broad features consistent with those seen in stripped-envelope SNe becoming dominant around two weeks after maximum. The narrow He I velocities are consistent with the wind velocities of luminous blue variables but its spectra lack the typically seen hydrogen features. The fast and bright early light curve is inconsistent with radioactive $^{56}$Ni powering but can be explained through a combination of CSM interaction and an underlying $^{56}$Ni decay component that dominates the later time behaviour of LSQ13ddu. Over-dispersed count data typically pose a challenge to analysis using standard statistical methods, particularly when evaluating the efficacy of an intervention through the observed effect on the mean. We outline a novel statistical method for analysing such data, along with a statistically coherent framework within which the observed efficacy is assigned one of four easily interpretable classifications relative to a target efficacy: "adequate", "reduced", "borderline" or "inconclusive". We illustrate our approach by analysing the anthelmintic efficacy of mebendazole using a dataset of egg reduction rates relating to three intestinal parasites from a treatment arm of a randomised controlled trial involving 91 children on Pemba Island, Tanzania. Numerical validation of the type I error rates of the novel method indicate that it performs as well as the best existing computationally-simple method, but with the additional advantage of providing valid inference in the case of an observed efficacy of 100%. The framework and statistical analysis method presented also allow the required sample size of a prospective study to be determined via simulation. Both the framework and method presented have high potential utility within medical parasitology, as well as other fields where over-dispersed count datasets are commonplace. Aims: AT 2018hso is a new transient showing transitional properties between those of LRNe and the class of intermediate luminosity red transients (ILRTs) similar to SN 2008S. Through the detailed analysis of the observed parameters, our study support that it actually belongs to the LRN class, and was likely produced by the coalescence of two massive stars. Methods: We obtained ten months of optical and near-infrared photometric monitoring, and eleven epochs of low-resolution optical spectroscopy of AT~2018hso. We compared its observed properties with those of other ILRTs and LRNe. We also inspected the archival Hubble Space Telescope (HST) images obtained about 15 years ago to constrain the progenitor's properties. Results: The light curves of AT 2018hso show a first sharp peak (Mr = -13.93 mag), followed by a broader and shallower second peak, that resembles a plateau in the optical bands. The spectra dramatically change with time. Early time spectra show prominent Balmer emission lines and a weak Ca II] doublet, which is usually observed in ILRTs. However, the major decrease in the continuum temperature, the appearance of narrow metal absorption lines, the major change in the H$\alpha$ strength and profile, and the emergence of molecular bands support a LRN classification. The possible detection of an I ~ -8 mag source at the position of AT 2018hso in HST archive images is consistent with expectations for a pre-merger massive binary, similar to the precursor of the 2015 LRN in M101. Conclusions: We provide reasonable arguments to support a LRN classification for AT~2018hso. This study reveals growing heterogeneity in the observables of LRNe than thought in the past, making sometimes tricky the discrimination between LRNe and ILRTs. This work presents the observations and analysis of ATLAS19dqr/SN 2019bkc, an extraordinary rapidly evolving transient event located in an isolated environment, tens of kiloparsecs from any likely host. Its light curves rise to maximum light in $5-6$ d and then display a decline of $\Delta m_{15} \sim5$ mag. With such a pronounced decay, it has one of the most rapidly evolving light curves known for a stellar explosion. The early spectra show similarities to normal and `ultra-stripped' type Ic SNe, but the early nebular phase spectra, which were reached just over two weeks after explosion, display prominent calcium lines, marking SN 2019bkc as a Ca-rich transient. The Ca emission lines at this phase show an unprecedented and unexplained blueshift of 10,000 -- 12,000 km/s. Modelling of the light curve and the early spectra suggests that the transient had a low ejecta mass of $0.2 - 0.4$ M$_\odot$ and a low kinetic energy of $ (2-4)\times 10^{50}$ erg, giving a specific kinetic energy $\sim1$ [$10^{51}$ erg]/M$_\odot$. The origin of this event cannot be unambiguously defined. While the abundance distribution used to model the spectra marginally favours a progenitor of white dwarf origin through the tentative identification of \ArII, the specific kinetic energy, which is defined by the explosion mechanism, is found to be more similar to an ultra-stripped core-collapse events. We present SN2018kzr, the fastest declining supernova-like transient, second only to the kilonova, AT2017gfo. SN2018kzr is characterized by a peak magnitude of $M_r = -17.98$, peak bolometric luminosity of ${\sim} 1.4 \times 10^{43}$erg s$^{\mathrm{-1}}$ and a rapid decline rate of $0.48 \pm 0.03$ mag day$^{\textrm{-1}}$ in the $r$ band. The bolometric luminosity evolves too quickly to be explained by pure $^{\mathrm{56}}$Ni heating, necessitating the inclusion of an alternative powering source. Incorporating the spin-down of a magnetized neutron star adequately describes the lightcurve and we estimate a small ejecta mass of $M_\mathrm{ej} = 0.10 \pm 0.05$ $\textrm{M}_{\odot}$. Our spectral modelling suggests the ejecta is composed of intermediate mass elements including O, Si and Mg and trace amounts of Fe-peak elements, which disfavours a binary neutron star merger. We discuss three explosion scenarios for SN2018kzr, given the low ejecta mass, intermediate mass element composition and the high likelihood of additional powering - core collapse of an ultra-stripped progenitor, the accretion induced collapse of a white dwarf and the merger of a white dwarf and neutron star. We present high-cadence ultraviolet (UV), optical, and near-infrared (NIR) data on the luminous Type II-P supernova SN 2017gmr from hours after discovery through the first 180 days. SN 2017gmr does not show signs of narrow, high-ionization emission lines in the early optical spectra, yet the optical lightcurve evolution suggests that an extra energy source from circumstellar medium (CSM) interaction must be present for at least 2 days after explosion. Modeling of the early lightcurve indicates a ~500R$_{\odot}$ progenitor radius, consistent with a rather compact red supergiant, and late-time luminosities indicate up to 0.130 $\pm$ 0.026 M$_{\odot}$ of $^{56}$Ni are present, if the lightcurve is solely powered by radioactive decay, although the $^{56}$Ni mass may be lower if CSM interaction contributes to the post-plateau luminosity. Prominent multi-peaked emission lines of H$\alpha$ and [O I] emerge after day 154, as a result of either an asymmetric explosion or asymmetries in the CSM. The lack of narrow lines within the first two days of explosion in the likely presence of CSM interaction may be an example of close, dense, asymmetric CSM that is quickly enveloped by the spherical supernova ejecta., Comment: Submitted to ApJ, 25 pages, plus Appendix

We present the results of the monitoring campaign of the Type IIn supernova (SN) 2018cnf (aka ASASSN-18mr). It was discovered about 10 days before the maximum light (on MJD = 58293.4+-5.7 in the V band, with MV = -18.13+-0.15 mag). The multiband light curves show an immediate post-peak decline with some minor luminosity fluctuations, followed by a flattening starting about 40 days after maximum. The early spectra are relatively blue and show narrow Balmer lines with P Cygni profiles. Additionally, Fe II, O I, He I and Ca II are detected. The spectra show little evolution with time, with intermediate-width features becoming progressively more prominent, indicating stronger interaction of the SN ejecta with the circumstellar medium. The inspection of archival images from the Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System (Pan-STARRS) survey has revealed a variable source at the SN position, with a brightest detection in December 2015 at Mr = -14.66+-0.17 mag. This was likely an eruptive phase from the massive progenitor star started from at least mid-2011, and that produced the circumstellar environment within which the star exploded as a Type IIn SN. The overall properties of SN 2018cnf closely resemble those of transients such as SN 2009ip. We present a comprehensive dataset of optical and near-infrared photometry and spectroscopy of type~Ia supernova (SN) 2016hnk, combined with integral field spectroscopy (IFS) of its host galaxy, MCG -01-06-070, and nearby environment. Properties of the SN local environment are characterized by means of single stellar population synthesis applied to IFS observations taken two years after the SN exploded. SN 2016hnk spectra are compared to other 1991bg-like SNe Ia, 2002es-like SNe Ia, and Ca-rich transients. In addition, abundance stratification modelling is used to identify the various spectral features in the early phase spectral sequence and the dataset is also compared to a modified non-LTE model previously produced for the sublumnious SN 1999by. SN 2016hnk is consistent with being a sub-luminous (M$_{\rm B}=-16.7$ mag, s$_{\rm BV}$=0.43$\pm$0.03), highly reddened object. IFS of its host galaxy reveals both a significant amount of dust at the SN location, as well as residual star formation and a high proportion of old stellar populations in the local environment compared to other locations in the galaxy, which favours an old progenitor for SN 2016hnk. Inspection of a nebular spectrum obtained one year after maximum contains two narrow emission lines attributed to the forbidden [Ca II] $\lambda\lambda$7291,7324 doublet with a Doppler shift of 700 km s$^{-1}$. Based on various observational diagnostics, we argue that the progenitor of SN 2016hnk was likely a near Chandrasekhar-mass ($M_{\rm Ch}$) carbon-oxygen white dwarf that produced 0.108 $M_\odot$ of $^{56}$Ni. Our modeling suggests that the narrow [Ca II] features observed in the nebular spectrum are associated with $^{48}$Ca from electron capture during the explosion, which is expected to occur only in white dwarfs that explode near or at the $M_{\rm Ch}$ limit., Comment: 23 pages, 27 figures. We describe a method for reconstructing spatially explicit maps of seasonal palaeoclimate variables from site-based reconstructions. Using a 3D-Variational technique, the method finds the best statistically unbiased, and spatially continuous, estimate of the palaeoclimate anomalies through combining the site-based reconstructions and a prior estimate of the palaeoclimate state. By assuming a set of correlations in the error of the prior, the resulting climate is smoothed both from month to month and from grid cell to grid cell. The amount of smoothing can be controlled through the choice of two length-scale values. The method is applied to a set of reconstructions of the climate of the Last Glacial Maximum (ca. 21,000 years ago, yr BP) for southern Europe derived from pollen data with a prior derived from results from the third phase of the Palaeoclimate Intercomparison Project (PMIP3). We demonstrate how to choose suitable values for the smoothing length scales from the datasets used in the reconstruction.

Calcium silicate perovskite (CaSiO$_3$) is one of the major mineral components of the lower mantle, but has been the subject of relatively little work compared to the more abundant Mg-based materials. One of the major problems related to CaSiO$_3$ that is still the subject of research is its crystal structure under lower mantle conditions - a cubic Pm$\bar{3}$m structure is accepted in general, but some have suggested that lower-symmetry structures may be relevant. In this paper, we use a fully first-principles vibrational self-consistent field method to perform high accuracy anharmonic vibrational calculations on several candidate structures at a variety of points along the geotherm near the base of the lower mantle to investigate the stability of the cubic structure and related distorted structures. Our results show that the cubic structure is the most stable throughout the lower mantle, and that this result is robust against the effects of thermal expansion.

The 2019 January 01 flypast of Ultima Thule by the New Horizons spacecraft has provided the author with a new opportunity to test his gas ring model of planetary origin (Prentice, 1978, Moon Planets 19 341). The model proposes that Ultima Thule condensed from the first gas ring shed by the gravitationally contracting protosolar cloud. I use the fully quantified gas ring model to compute the thermal properties of the gas ring in which Ultima condensed and thence to predict the initial bulk chemical composition of the condensate. It is predicted that all KBOs initially contained large stores of CO2 ice and CH4 ices. These make up fractions 0.2210 and 0.0513 of the condensate mass, respectively. Water ice makes up a mass fraction 0.1845, nearly-dry rock has fraction 0.5269 and graphite has 0.0163. Next, I compute the thermal evolution of Ultima, taking into account the radiogenic heat released by the decay of 26Al. Stellar occultation data suggest that Ultima Thule may consist of 2 lobes of radius about 10 km and 7.5 km. The thermal evolution model shows that within 0.2 Myr, the peak internal temperatures are sufficient for a fraction ~0.7 of the CH4 ice in the larger lobe to melt and for a fraction ~0.4 of the CO2 ice to sublime. For the smaller lobe, these fractions are less. Liquid CH4 quickly migrates upwards to the surface and refreezes to form a thick outer shell of CH4 ice. The sublimation of CO2 takes place after the melting of CH4. The possibility now exists for rising CO2 vapour to become trapped beneath the CH4 shell. This may lead to explosive eruptions of the outer shell and destruction of the primordial surface of Ultima and loss of the CO2. If 60% of CO2 is lost, the lobe radii each shrinks by ~5%. Even so, the intensity of 26Al radiogenic heating may not be sufficient to render the surface of Ultima Thule globally smooth, unless the lobe sizes are of order ~15 km., Comment: 44 pages, 5 figures, first submitted to PASA on 2019 January 01, 19:47 UTC.
