The increasing demand for computational photography and imaging on mobile platforms has led to the widespread development and integration of advanced image sensors with novel algorithms in camera systems. However, the scarcity of high-quality data for research and the rare opportunity for in-depth exchange of views from industry and academia constrain the development of mobile intelligent photography and imaging (MIPI). Building on the achievements of the previous MIPI Workshops held at ECCV 2022 and CVPR 2023, we introduce our third MIPI challenge including three tracks focusing on novel image sensors and imaging algorithms. In this paper, we summarize and review the Nighttime Flare Removal track on MIPI 2024. In total, 170 participants were successfully registered, and 14 teams submitted results in the final testing phase. The developed solutions in this challenge achieved state-of-the-art performance on Nighttime Flare Removal. Fermilab is executing a technology development program to develop a compact yet powerful electron accelerator. We are leveraging R&D breakthroughs in SRF cavities, cost-effective radio-frequency sources, modern cryo-coolers, and high average current electron guns. We show that a single accelerator module can deliver average beam power as high as 1 MW through detailed thermal, RF, and particle simulations.

High-repetition-rate sources of bright electron bunches have a wide range of applications. They can directly be employed as probes in electron-scattering setups, or serve as a backbone for the generation of radiation over a broad range of the electromagnetic spectrum. This paper describes the development of a compact sub-Mega-electronvolt (sub-MeV) electron-source setup capable of operating at MHz repetition rates and forming sub-picosecond electron bunches with transverse emittance below 20~nm. The setup relies on a conduction-cooled superconducting single-cell resonator with its geometry altered to enhance the field at the surface of the emitter. The system is designed to accommodate cooling using a model a $2$~W at 4.2 K pulse tube cryogen-free cryocooler. Although we focus on the case of a photoemitted electron bunch, the scheme could be adapted to other emission mechanisms.

We propose an alternative scheme for a tunable THz radiation source generated by relativistic electron bunches. This technique relies on the combination of dispersive selection and flat electron bunch. The dispersive selection uses a slit mask inside a bunch compressor to transform the energy-chirped electron beam into a bunch train. The flat beam transformation boosts the frequency range of the THz source by reducing the beam emittance in one plane. This technique generates narrow-band THz radiation with a tuning range between 0.2 - 4 THz. Single frequency THz spectrum can also be generated by properly choosing the slit spacing, slit width, and the energy chirp., Comment: Submitted to Applied Physics Letters

The difference between the number of lattice points in a disk of radius $\sqrt{t}/2\pi$ and the area of the disk $t/4\pi$ is equal to the error in the Weyl asymptotic estimate for the eigenvalue counting function of the Laplacian on the standard flat torus. We give a sharp asymptotic expression for the average value of the difference over the interval $0 \leq t \leq R$. We obtain similar results for families of ellipses. Next generation accelerators will require a high current, low emittance beam with a low energy spread. Such accelerators will employ advanced beam conditioning systems such as emittance exchangers to manipulate high brightness beams. One of the goals of the Fermilab A0 photoinjector is to investigate the transverse to longitudinal emittance exchange principle. Coherent synchrotron radiation could limit high current operation of the emittance exchanger.
