In this paper, we extend the iterative expression for the generalized spherical functions associated to the root systems of type $A$ previously obtained beyond regular elements. We also provide the corresponding expression in the flat case. From there, we derive a Laplace-type representation for the generalized spherical functions associated to the root systems of type $A$ in the Dunkl setting as well as in the trigonometric Dunkl setting. This representation leads us to describe precisely the support of the generalized Abel transform. Thanks to a recent result of Rejeb, this allows us to give the support for the Dunkl intertwining operator.

We describe the set of bounded harmonic functions for the Heckman--Opdam Laplacian, when the multiplicity function is larger than 1/2. We prove that this set is a vector space of dimension the cardinality of the Weyl group. Let X=G/K be a Riemannian symmetric space of the noncompact type. We give a short exposition of the representation theory related to X, and discuss its holomorphic extension to the complex crown, a G-invariant subdomain in the complexified symmetric space X_\C=G_\C/K_\C. Applications to the heat transform and the Radon transform for X are given.

Formulae of Berezin and Karpelevic for the radial parts of invariant differential operators and the spherical function on a complex Grassmann manifold are generalized to the hypergeometric functions associated with root system of type $BC_n$ under condition that the multiplicity of the middle roots is zero or one.

The radial probability measures on $R^p$ are in a one-to-one correspondence with probability measures on $[0,\infty[$ by taking images of measures w.r.t. the Euclidean norm mapping. For fixed $\nu\in M^1([0,\infty[)$ and each dimension p, we consider i.i.d. $R^p$-valued random variables $X_1^p,X_2^p,...$ with radial laws corresponding to $\nu$ as above. Proofs are based on the fact that the $(S_k^p)_{k\ge 0}$ form Markov chains on the cone whose transition probabilities are given in terms Bessel functions $J_\mu$ of matrix argument with an index $\mu$ depending on p. We study the heat equation associated to a multiplicity function on a root system, where the corresponding Laplace operator has been defined by Heckman and Opdam. In particular, we describe the image of the associated Segal-Bargmann transform as a space of holomorphic functions. In the case where the multiplicity function corresponds to a Riemannian symmetric space G/K of noncompact type, we obtain a description of the image of the space of K-invariant L^2-function on G/K under the Segal-Bargmann transform associated to the heat equation on G/K, thus generalizing (and reproving) a result of B.
