The note is devoted to multiple mixing, spectrum, rank and self-joinings of measure-preserving transformations. We recall famous open problems, discuss related questions and some known results. A hypothetical example of an automorphism of the class $MSJ(2)\setminus MSJ(3)$ has Lebesgue spectrum, infinite rank and does not have multiple mixing. If its spectrum is simple, then we get a solution to the problems of Banach, Rokhlin and del Junco-Rudolph. The existence of such an example, of course, seems unlikely, but any facts confirming the impossibility of this amazing situation have not yet been discovered. In 1949 V.A. Rokhlin introduced into ergodic theory the k-fold mixing and puzzled the mathematical community with the problem of the mismatch of these invariants. Here's what Rokhlin wrote: "The proposed work arose from the author's attempts to solve the well-known spectral problem of the theory of dynamical systems: are there any metrically different dynamical systems with the same continuous (in particular, Lebesgue) spectrum? Using new metric invariants introduced for this purpose, the author tried to find among the ergodic automorphisms of compact commutative groups automorphisms of various metric types. Examples of rigid Poisson suspensions without roots are presented. The discrete rational component in spectrum of an ergodic automorphism S prevents some roots from existing. If S is tensorly multiplied by an ergodic automorphism of the space with a sigma-finite measure, discrete spectrum disappears in this product, but the memory of it can remain in the form of the absence of roots. We present spectrally disjoint Sidon automorphisms whose tensor squares are isomorphic to a planar shift. Spectra of such automorphisms do not possess the group property. To check the singularity of spectrum, we use polynomial rigidity of operators associated with Kolmogorov linear determinism. Answering Vershik's question we show that quasi-similarity does not conserve the entropy, proving quasi-similarity of all Bernoulli actions of a countable infinite group. We prove also the following generalization of Pinsker's theorem: the actions with zero Kirillov-Kushnirenko $P$-entropy and the actions with completely positive $P$-entropy are disjoint. Power-law uniform (in the operator norm) convergence on vector subspaces with their own norms in von Neumann's ergodic theorem with continuous time is considered. All possible exponents of the considered power-law convergence are found; for each of these exponents, spectral criteria for such convergence are given and a complete description of all such subspaces is obtained. Uniform convergence over the entire space takes place only in trivial cases, which explains the interest in the uniform convergence just on subspaces. We propose 3D generalizations of the Feuerbach theorem: the first one deals with a tetrahedron analogue of the Euler circle, the second one is done by means of an {\guillemotleft}up-in-ex-touch{\guillemotright} construction. Then we give a geometric proof of the Grace theorem (a classical, but still not well-known, 3D Feuerbach theorem) and show its relation to the Poncelet closure theorem. Our elementary proof is based on the properties of imaginary generators on a sphere and of isotropic tangents to a conic. Then we show that the Grace theorem implies the Laguerre theorem, which generalises the Euler-Chapple formulas. Further, we consider a spatial analog of Poncelet's theorem. It is also proved that the Grace spheres touch a fixed sphere under the Poncelet rotation of bicentric tetrahedron. Finally, the lifting to the three-dimensional space provides a new proof of Feuerbach's theorem and, perhaps, the shortest proof of Euler-Chapple formulas., Comment: 16 pages, in Russian language, 6 figures

Birkhoff's theorem states that for an ergodic automorphism, the time averages converge to the space average. Given sequence $\psi(n)\to+0$, U. Krengel proved that for any ergodic automorphism there is an indicator such that the corresponding time averages converged a.e. with a rate slower than $\psi$. We show that typical extensions of ergodic systems inherit the triviality of pairwise independent self-joinings. This property (introduced by A. del Junco and D. The article considers generic extensions of measure-preserving actions. We prove that the P-entropy of the generic extensions with finite P-entropy is infinite. This is exploited to obtain the result by Austin, Glasner, Thouvenot, and Weiss that the generic extension of an deterministic action is not isomorphic to it. We show also that generic cocycles are recurrent; as well as typical extensions preserve the singularity of the spectrum, partial rigidity, mildly mixing, and mixing. At the same time, the lifting of some algebraic properties under the generic extension may depend on the statistical properties of the base. The typical measurable families of automorphisms are considered as well. The dynamic behavior of such families is a bit unusual. The article deals with the problem of synthesis of an adaptive observer of state variables of a linear time-varying SISO dynamic system. It is assumed that the control signal and the output variable are measurable. It is assumed that the state matrix of the plant contains known variables and unknown constant parameters, and the control matrix (vector) is unknown. The synthesis of the observer is based on the GPEBO method (generalized parameter based observer) proposed in $[1]$. Synthesis of adaptive provides for preliminary parametrization of the initial system and its transformation to a linear regression model with further identification of unknown parameters. To identify unknown constant parameters a classical estimation algorithm was used (the least squares method with a forgetting factor). This approach has proven itself well in cases where the known regressor is frequency poor (that is, the spectral composition of the regressor contains less than $r/2$ harmonics, where r is the number of unknown parameters) or does not satisfy the so-called undamped excitation condition. To illustrate the efficiency of the proposed method an example is presented in the article. A time-varying second-order object with four unknown parameters was considered. Parameterization of the initial dynamic model was performed and a linear static regression containing six unknowns parameters was obtained (including the vector of unknown initial conditions of system state variables). An adaptive observer was synthesized and the results of computer modeling illustrating the achievement of a given goal were presented. Answering the question of V.I. Oseledets, we present a random variable $\xi$ such that the sum $\xi(x)+a\xi(y)$ has a singular distribution for a set of parameters $a$ dense in $(1, +\infty)$, but for another dense set of parameters, this sum has an absolutely continuous distribution. We prove the following assertion: given $C,D$, countable non-intersecting dense subsets of the ray $(1,+\infty)$, there is a measure-preserving flow $T_t$ (acting on the infinite Lebesgue space) such that automorphisms $T_1\otimes T_{c}$ have simple singular spectra for every $c\in C$, and $T_1\otimes T_{d}$ have Lebesgue spectra for all $d\in D$. We consider the multiplicity of limit cycles that appear when a hyperbolic polycycle is perturbed. Systems of particle motion in the Hooke central potential field on a billiard book glued from flat circular billiard domains are considered. An important class of nondegenerate focal singularities of the rank 0 of integrable systems with 2 degrees of freedom is completely realized by this class of billiards. The degenerate singularities of systems from one well-known multiparameter family of integrable systems of rigid body dynamics are studied. Axisymmetric Zhukovsky systems are considered, i.e. axisymmetric Euler tops after adding a constant gyrostatic moment. For all values of the set of parameters, excluding some hypersurfaces, it is proved that the degenerate local and semi-local singularities of the system are of the parabolic and cuspidal type, respectively. Thus these singularities are structurally stable under small perturbations of the system in the class of integrable systems. Note that all these degenerate points lie in the preimage of the cusp point of the parametric bifurcation curve and satisfy the criterion of A.~Bolsinov, L.~Guglielmi and E.~Kudryavtseva., Comment: in Russian

A new algorithm for estimating the time-varying frequency of a noiseless sinusoidal signal is considered. It is assumed that the amplitude and frequency of the sinusoidal signal are unknown functions of time, but are solutions of linear stationary differential equations with known parameters. The problem is solved using gradient tuning algorithms based on a linear regression equation obtained by parameterizing the original nonlinear sinusoidal signal. This text is addressed to students. It is a short story about some problems in ergodic theory, both related and independent. We discuss the factorization of transformations into the product of three involutions; Furstenberg's theorem on weak multiple mixing in the mean along progressions; ergodic Furstenberg-Roth's theorem. In connection with Ledrappier's $Z^2$-action, we consider harmonic $Z_2$-sequences on $Z^2$ and experimentally observe the dominant infinite threads arising in them. The property of multiple mixing for systems with the Gordin ergodic group is proven. We discuss the absence of the Lehrer and Weiss property for the action of $\mathbb{Z}^2$-lattices, and Bergelson's question on sequence mixing. This text is written based on the author's publications during the period from 1991 to 2001. The work is devoted to the theory of Markov intertwining operators and joinings of measure-preserving group actions, as well as to their applications to study asymptotic properties of dynamical systems. Special attention is paid to Rokhlin's problems on multiple mixing and multiple spectrum. The development of these topics over the past twenty years has not been discussed. In fact many results on joinings have frozen in time, many questions have remained open without losing their relevance, but probably have ceased to excite interest due to difficulties. For example, it is not known whether the minimal self-joinings of order 2 imply all orders? Is there a non-trivial pairwise independent joining for a weakly mixing system of zero entropy? What can be said about such joinings for transformations with small local rank? These questions are ripe for a long time, and the author reminds the reader about them, combining his story with numerous partial and related results., Comment: in Russian

For a compact set of actions, an invariant of Kushnirenko's entropy type is chosen in such a way that on this set it is equal to zero, but will be infinity for typical actions. As a consequence, we show that typical measure-preserving transformations are not isomorphic to geometric shape exchange transformations. In the paper we discuss Fomenko conjecture on realization of topology of topology of Liouville foliaions of smooth and real-analytic integrable Hamiltonian systems by integrable billiards. Vedyushkina-Kharcheva algorithm of 3-atom realization by billiard books is described clearly in the terms of $f$-graphs. Note, that an arbitrary type of base of Liouville foliation on the whole isoenergy surface was also realized by V. Vedyushkina and I. Kharcheva algorithm. In this paper this algorithm is visually applied to realization of a well-known Zhukovskii integrable system (Euler system with a gyrostat) in a certain energy zone. It turns out that Liouville foliation is also realized using this construction, not only the class of its base. Thus, Liouville equivalence of these billiard and mechanical systems is shown. Then we discuss V. Kibkalo and V. Vedyushkina result on constructing of a billiard with an arbitrary numerical invariant. Existence of Fomenko-Zieschang invariant is proved for some subclass of billiard books without potential. Also, it is proved that such systems are topologically stable. In the end of the paper we show that planar billiard system in some potential field can have a non-degenerate rank 1 4-singularity singularity not satisfying non-splitting condition. The paper formulates and solves the problem of identification of unknown parameters of mathematical models of the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection, based on SEIR type models, based on additional information about the number of detected cases, mortality, self-isolation coefficient and tests performed for the Moscow city and the Novosibirsk Region from 03.23.2020. Within the framework of the models used, the population is divided into seven (SEIR-HCD) and five (SEIR-D) groups with similar characteristics with transition probabilities between groups depending on a specific region. Identifiability analysis of the SEIR-HCD mathematical model was carried out, which revealed the least sensitive unknown parameters to additional measurements. The tasks of refining the parameters are reduced to minimizing the corresponding target functionals, which were solved using stochastic methods (simulating annealing, differential evolution, genetic algorithm, etc.). For a different amount of tested data, a prognostic scenario for the development of the disease in the city of Moscow and the Novosibirsk region was developed, the peak is predicted the development of the epidemic in Moscow with an error of 2 days and 174 detected cases, and an analysis of the applicability of the developed models was carried out., Comment: 23 pages, in Russian, 8 figures

We consider the harmonic balance method for finding approximate periodic solutions of the Lorenz system. When developing software that implements the described method, the math package Maxima was chosen. The drawbacks of symbolic calculations for obtaining a system of nonlinear algebraic equations with respect to the cyclic frequency, free terms and amplitudes of the harmonics, that make up the desired solution, are shown. To speed up the calculations, this system was obtained in a general form for the first time. The results of the computational experiment are given: the coefficients of trigonometric polynomials approximating the found periodic solution, the initial condition, and the cycle period. The results obtained were verified using a high-precision method of numerical integration based on the power series method and described earlier in the articles of the authors., Comment: The article is written in Russian

In 1941 a mechanical problem about a rod in a moving train (there is a initial position such that rod does not touch the floor while train is moving) was published by R.Courant and H.Robbins in their popular book "What is mathematics?" and attributed to H.Whitney. Many mathematicians, including G.E.Littlewood, A.Broman, T.Poston, I.Stewart, V.Arnold, commented on this problem and its solution based on a continuity argument, and created a lot of confusion. New necessary and sufficient conditions are proposed for the stability investigation of dynamical systems using the flow and the divergence of the phase vector velocity. The obtained conditions generalize the well-known results of V.P. Zhukov and A. Rantzer. The relation of Lyapunov methods with the proposed methods is established. The application of the obtained results to study the stability of linear systems goes to the problem of matrix inequality solvability. The new control laws are synthesized for linear and nonlinear systems. A new algorithm for solving the solution of the linear-quadratic optimization problem (LQP) with unseparated boundary conditions in the continuous case is given. Using the properties of symmetry of the corresponding Hamiltonian matrix, the Euler-Lagrange equations, it is shown that linear algebraic equations for determining the missing initial data of the system being solved have a symmetric principal matrix. An exact discretization method is being developed for solving linear systems of ordinary fractional-derivative differential equations with constant matrix coefficients (LSOFDDECMC). It is shown that the obtained linear discrete system in this case does not have constant matrix coefficients. Further, this method is compared with the known approximate method. The above scheme is developed for arbitrary linear systems with piecewise constant perturbations. Topology of Liouville foliations for an analogue of the Kovalevskaya integrable case on Lie algebra so(4) is discussed. The Cauchy problem for fractional derivatives linear systems of ordinary differential equations with constant coefficients is considered, where at first the analytic expressions are given through the matrix exponent of its corresponding solution. On the basis of the obtained results the conditions are given, providing the asymptotic stability of the initial system. The results are illustrated on the numerical example, where it is shown that when the order of the fractional derivative tends to unity, so the solution tends to the corresponding exponential function., Comment: in Russian

This paper is devoted to the resolution of singularities of holomorphic vector fields and of one-dimensional holomorphic foliations in dimension 3 and it has two main objectives. First, from the general perspective of one-dimensional foliations, we build upon the work of Cano-Roche-Spivakovsky and essentially complete it. As a consequence, we obtain a general resolution theorem comparable to the resolution theorem of McQuillan-Panazzolo but proved by means of rather different methods. The second objective of this paper consists of looking at a special class of singularities of foliations containing, in particular, all singularities of complete holomorphic vector fields on complex manifolds of dimension 3. We then prove that for this class of holomorphic foliations, there holds a much sharper resolution theorem. This second result was the initial motivation of this paper and it relies on the combination of the previous resolution theorems for (general) foliations with some classical material on asymptotic expansions for solutions of differential equations., Comment: To appear in Russian Mathematical Surveys
