Glass cutting process is one of the first and important operations obtained to the glass in glass processing companies. The condition of the scoring (tracking) is important to further operations to be carried. The main factor on which depends fine glass cut is appropriate cutting wheel. There are different cutting wheels for various glass thicknesses. As the cutting wheel wears (the whet angle becomes blunt) during cutting process the cut becomes wider, the splinters and cracks appear. More cracks and splinters, worse the breakage process of the glass what is not welcome in glass cutting. For observation and obtaining the technological condition of the cutting wheel the acoustic emission was used. Using acoustic emission method there was obtained in what range there falls the frequency caused during glass cutting process when the cutting wheel is scoring the glass. The frequency range cause by out worn cutting wheel is almost two times lower than the one of brand new cutting wheel. As scoring with outworn cutting wheel there appears more cracks and splinters during the breakage of glass its brakes not through the cut giving glass waste. Visual analysis was carried to present the influence of outworn cutting wheel to the quality of the tracking. Using equipment for measurements of the frequency caused by the cutting wheel during scoring the glass there can be noticed the right time for cutting wheel change to appropriate one and in this case there would be avoided glass waste and wear of the tools used for further operations, like discs used for polishing or grinding operations. Taking all the results analyzed and putting them into reality the product of the glass can be produced in less cost and time consumption. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
