Abstract

Early hepatic artery thrombosis (HAT) is thought to be associated with a high mortality rate by liver graft or graft bile duct infarction unless followed by retransplantation. We report a case of early HAT immediately operated. After partial thrombectomy and flush with urokinase, a new end‐to‐end anastomosis of the arterial stumps was performed. One year post‐transplant, the child is doing well and hepatic biology is normal. Immediate surgical revision associated with in situUrokinase injection may avoid serious complications related to early HAT.
