Long noncoding RNAs (LncRNAs) were reported to be implicated in the progression of gastric cancer (GC). This study aimed to explore the role of solute carrier family 25 member 21 antisense RNA 1 (SLC25A21-AS1) in radiosensitivity of GC cells. In the present study, reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) showed that the expression of SLC25A21-AS1 and synuclein gamma (SNCG) was downregulated in GC tissues and cells, while the expression of microRNA-15a-5p (miR-15a-5p) was upregulated in GC tissues and cells. The expression of SLC25A21-AS1 was elevated in GC cells after radiation treatment. SLC25A21-AS1 overexpression enhanced GC cell radiosensitivity, inhibited cell proliferation and promoted apoptosis. SLC25A21-AS1 overexpression also facilitated the DNA damage caused by radiation in GC cells. Mechanically, SLC25A21-AS1 interacted with miR-15a-5p and negatively regulated miR-15a-5p expression in GC cells. SNCG was directly targeted by miR-15a-5p at the 3' untranslated region (3'UTR). In GC tissues, the expression of SNCG was negatively correlated with that of miR-15a-5p, but was positively correlated with that of SLC25A21-AS1. Rescue assays revealed that SNCG silencing rescued the tumor-suppressive effect of overexpressed SLC25A21-AS1 on GC cells. The enhanced radiosensitivity caused by SLC25A21-AS1 overexpression was also reduced by SNCG knockdown. In conclusion, lncRNA SLC25A21-AS1 inhibits cell malignant behaviors and enhances cell radiosensitivity in GC by elevating SNCG expression. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Photoelectrochemical water splitting (PEC) is believed as a promising approach to address the energy and environmental crisis. Here, we adopted a simple two-step method to synthesize bare Sb2S3 film, and then employed a Bi element doping strategy to improve the PEC performance of obtained bare Sb2S3. The obtained Bi-Sb2S3 exhibited an increased photocurrent density, 2.8 mA cm−2 at 1.23 VRHE and a negative shift of onset potential, compared to bare Sb2S3. The enhancement in PEC performance of Bi-Sb2S3 could be attributed to the expanded light absorption range, increased electron carrier concentration and improved charge transfer ability. Gold nanoparticles (~24 nm) were successfully loaded on the surface of BiVO4 nanopyramidal arrays by simple electrostatic selfassembly approach. By decorating gold nanoparticles on the surface of BiVO4 films, The photocurrent of as-prepared Au/BiVO4 photoanode increased from around 0.42 mA/cm2 for pristine BiVO4 to nearly 0.93 mA/cm2 at 1.23 vs. RHE under AM 1.5 illumination. The improved photoresponse of the Au/BiVO4 was found as a result from higher carrier generation and enhanced charge separation with the decoration of Au nanoparticles. The successful deposition provide a new route for desigining plasmonic photoanode and offers better understanding the photochemistry of noble metal-complex oxide heterostructures for photoelectrichemical water splitting. Purpose The aim of the study is to comprehensively analyze the clinical epidemiology of the mandibular fracture including several factors which could affect the incidence, treatments, and outcomes of the mandibular fracture. Materials and methods A retrospective study was conducted to include the patients with mandibular fractures in the department of maxillofacial surgery of the Lanzhou University second hospital from 2011 to 2015. The predictor variables were age, gender, ethnicity, medical health, habits, etiology, and treatment methods for mandibular fracture. The outcome variables were postoperative complications of MFs and corrective revision surgeries. T, Chi-square, Fisher’s exact, and Spearmen statistical tests were used to analyze the data. Results There were 342 patients with 571 fractures. Male/female ratio was 4.1:1 with the third decade accounted for (30.1%). Traffic accidents (43.6%) were the most common etiology followed by falls (31.6%). Symphysis/parasymphysis (26.4%) and condyle (24%) were the most common fracture sites. The complication rate was 18.4% with the infection (8.8%), and malocclusion (5.8%) were the most frequent complications. The rate of secondary operation was (5%). A high time interval to repairing was detected ( mean = 11.04) without statistical significance between the rate of the overall complications and time interval to repairing ( P = 0.957). Compromising factors significantly increase the rate of infection. There was no significant difference between the administration of antibiotics and the incidence of infection ( P = 0.289). Conclusion A well understanding of the epidemiology of mandibular fracture and variables’ correlations is clinically important in advancing the prediction, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mandibular fractures in a particular population. Potential risk factors such as trauma severity, compromised medical health, and patient’s behaviors were significantly affecting the resultant outcome. Open reduction and internal fixation of condyle fracture resulted in constant occlusal result than closed one. An antibiotic therapeutic effect against infection in mandibular fractures remains suspected. Time elapsing from injury to treatment had no influence on the overall complications. An efficient position and attitude estimation method is proposed based on the compressive sensing and extended Kalman filter. A set of ground-based beacons is used as references, and the beacon signals are received by the compact uniform linear arrays equipped on the object. Compressive subspace predetection and compressive estimation approaches are then developed to distinguish and calculate the direction-of-arrival vectors from different beacons. The compressive estimation method reduces the signal sampling rate and the computational complexity of the algorithm. Subsequently, the extended Kalman fdter is applied to estimate the position and attitude parameters based on the direction-of-arrival vectors and the translational and rotational kinematics of the object. Finally, the Cramer-Rao lower bounds of the estimation variances are derived. Simulations show that the proposed method can provide a full position and attitude solution, while reducing the sampling rates and computational complexity compared to the traditional uncompressed approach. High purity rare earth metals, including samarium, ytterbium and thulium, were prepared by vacuum reduction-distillation of each rare earth oxide with lanthanum metal. The results show that the rare earth metals of samarium and ytterbium with 4N-purity are obtained by direct vacuum reduction-distillation, and their purity is 99.99 wt% and 99.993 wt%, respectively, with respect to 75 impurities. There is a high concentration of reductant in thulium metal due to the higher reaction temperature and lower distillation velocity ratio of metallic thulium to lanthanum, so that the sublimation purification with lower temperature and high vacuum is needed. The purified thulium can reach a high purity of 99.995wt% with respect to 75 impurities. Mobile social network is becoming more and more popular with respect to the development and popularity of mobile devices and interpersonal sociality. As the amount of social data increases in a great deal and cloud computing techniques become developed, the architecture of mobile social network is evolved into cloud-based that mobile clients send data to the cloud and make data accessible from clients. The data in the cloud should be stored in a secure fashion to protect user privacy and restrict data sharing defined by users. Ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption (CP-ABE) is currently considered to be a promising security solution for cloud-based mobile social network to encrypt the sensitive data. However, its ciphertext size and decryption time grow linearly with the attribute numbers in the access structure. In order to reduce the computing overhead held by the mobile devices, in this paper we propose a new Outsourcing decryption and Match-then-decrypt CP-ABE algorithm (OM-CP-ABE) which firstly outsources the computation-intensive bilinear pairing operations to a proxy, and secondly performs the decryption test on the attributes set matching access policy in ciphertexts. The experimental performance assessments show the security strength and efficiency of the proposed solution in terms of computation, communication, and storage. Also, our construction is proven to be replayable choosen-ciphertext attacks (RCCA) secure based on the decisional bilinear Diffie-Hellman (DBDH) assumption in the standard model.
