MICHAEL STRAHAN (ABC NEWS) (Off-camera) Hey, Ginger. Let's go to Ginger. (Off-camera) Hey there, Michael. I wanted to show you first that category 2 hurricane that will make landfall today in Cuba. Will be intensifying. It's moving pretty fast northwest at about 14 miles per hour. There are hurricane warnings not just there but tropical storm warnings for Key West. So the western Keys, watch for some of the outer bands. It then stalls into the gulf through the weekend early next week. It's really running out of steam as it approaches the gulf. We'll keep an eye on the coastal states there. But here's what's going to happen today. A few tornadoes could even spin up, not just for the western Keys, but in southwest Florida. But also there are a bunch of marathon runners this year that are part of a nonprofit New York Road Runners Team For Climate, and I am representing them. And let's talk about mother nature, because she's dressing up like summer even though it's Halloween. So we're seeing numbers like Cleveland, Ohio broke a record at 78. Green Bay, Wisconsin had their latest 80 plus degree temperature on record. Chicago broke, Austin broke, Pittsburg will break today and tomorrow, which would make it their warmest Halloween on record. And there are others circled for Halloween that could be the warmest on record, like Syracuse, Burlington or Houlton, the second warmest for a lot of places like Philadelphia, Boston or New York City. But don't worry, mother nature putting on a bit of a November show and going back to average as we drop into the weekend. That's the big picture. Let's get a check now, a little closer to home. Well, in Berlin, Connecticut, they're still fighting that, and unfortunately now it has turned deadly. GINGER ZEE (ABC NEWS) (Off-camera) It's been nearly a month since hurricane Helene and the long, long recovery process still happening. There's still roads closed in western North Carolina, infrastructure being worked on. You know, for September, that hurricane helped them get to the wettest month on record, but their October has been the second driest on record. So a huge flip. Better for recovery, I'm sure. Much of the nation having driest fall to date, meaning September 1st through today, unless you go to Tampa, which also big time impacts from those hurricanes. And they've actually had the wettest year on record already. The only area that looks like it starts to get it toward the end of the month would be there in the northern plains, Midwest, down into the plains. That's the big picture. Gorgeous, right? Bob Ross could paint that, it would be beautiful with the reflection on the lake. But it felt like I was hiking in southern California. It was so dry. It was so hot. We saw records from New York's JFK Airport at 80 degrees. Bridgeport, Connecticut was 77. The fire danger is high there today. Philadelphia was 84. And records all the way back to the plains. Today we should break records for Tucson, Austin, Dallas possible. Lot of folks 10 to 25 degrees above average. They have the most rain they have ever recorded in a single day, 5.78 inches of rain. You can see all of that damage that they're still picking up from here.
