Guided by resource-based theory, this study examines the nature of the relationship between an entrepreneurial marketing orientation (the interplay between market-oriented and entrepreneurially-oriented behaviours) and small business growth. Survey responses were collected from 421 smaller-sized firms in Malaysia. After assessing the statistical data for all major robustness checks, hierarchical regression was used to evaluate the conceptual framework. The results suggested that on their own, market orientation and entrepreneurial orientation have linear (positive) relationships with small business growth. More importantly, an entrepreneurial marketing orientation exhibited a nonlinear (inverted U-shaped) association with small business growth. Thus, owner-managers are faced with the challenge of fostering an 'optimal-level' of an entrepreneurial marketing orientation to avoid potentially harmful performance consequences. Consequently, unique insights have emerged regarding the complexities of the marketing/entrepreneurship interface, with stronger evidence pertaining to the dangers of implementing 'too little' or 'too much' of an entrepreneurial marketing orientation.

Street markets, including night and farmers' markets, are considered as a less formalised economic activity. While it is considered as the bottom of the retail pyramid, studies on street markets have found that a quite substantial number of advantages that strengthen the human and social interactions. In this paper, a case study was conducted to gather insights from stakeholders on the issues and challenges of rebranding street markets. Sets of interview were conducted to provide empirical inquiries. Sellers and frequent and irregular buyer groups were selected based on purposive sampling strategy as participants. Unstructured interviews were conducted that allows for probing the answers for more input. Findings of the interviews with the respective local council, and street market sellers and buyers reveal price non-standardisation, service quality, product preference, infrastructure, convenience and accessibility and sellers' resistance to change are the key issues.

Patient satisfaction is a valid indicator for measurement of service quality. Patients’ judgment is important because dissatisfaction hint the opportunities for improvement. We evaluated the relationship between satisfaction of patients and service quality in two 1Malaysia Clinics in Selangor, Malaysia. A correlational study was carried out using the SERVQUAL questionnaire. The respondent in this study was 194 patients who visited 1Malaysia Clinics in Selangor, Malaysia. The findings indicated that there was a negative, significant relationship between the two variables (r=-0.230, n=194, p<0.05). The results of the correlation indicate that the higher the service quality is associated with lower patient satisfaction.
