- Abstract
(Abstracted from N Engl J Med2016;375:1231–1241)Pregnancy-associated infections after cesarean delivery are a significant cause of maternal deaths in the United States. Earlier studies proposed that an azithromycin-based extended-spectrum prophylaxis in combination with standard cephalosporin prophylaxis may reduce the risk of infection following cesarean delivery more than standard prophylaxis alone.
