With the rapid development of Telematics, the role of edge computing (Mobile Edge Computing, MEC) is becoming more and more significant. Mobile users can obtain massive computing and storage resources in a local way, thus effectively solving the congestion problem of the core network. However, in general urban edge network scenarios of VANET (Vehicular Ad-hoc Network), due to low node density and poor connectivity, there are few chances to encounter suitable forwarding nodes. In order to avoid the above situation and adapt to sparse scenarios, we propose new link-stabilized routing method & protocol based on sticky bacteria algorithm in this paper. The new idea and the significant findings of this proposed algorithm in enhancing the routing protocol is as follows: five factors affecting routing decision are identified: evaluation distance, deflection angle, number of neighboring nodes, rate difference, and the traffic of the road section at which it is located, and then these five factors are comprehensively evaluated by using the our designed Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) strategy, so as to determine the score of each node and the candidate routing paths; And the best routing path between two communicating nodes is found through the stronger global exploration capability of the sticky bacteria algorithm. Our experiments (that are based on our developed C++ programs) have proved that the method proposed in this paper has stronger link stability and the highest packet delivery rate. Continuous dynamic in vehicle movement creates a complex topology environment and connectivity relationship in Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs). Consequently. overcoming longer transmission connections and reduced transmission reliability has been a significant problem. During the development of routing methods, fundamental research focuses on identifying and selecting paths with short distances or pulverization of information in environments with high traffic density to transmit packets successfully. As a result. transmission losses are minimized. and transport conditions are avoided: however, these techniques struggle to achieve more stable path routes in real-time environments because of sudden increases in traffic levels. Consequently, a model that effectively monitors the distance between vehicles and assists VANETs in selecting paths automatically and more accurately is proposed. To approximate and extend the lifetime of the communication path. we use an OpenAl Gym environment where a Reinforcement Learning (RL) agent can learn the route using the distance between cars as a model and define policies with higher lifetime rewards. The algorithm used a trained agent with the Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) and Advanced Actor-Critic (A20 algorithms in our environment. Applying machine learning on VANETs results in improved network efficiency, which offers real-time routing information in mobile environments. In the Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET), the data transmission of time-sensitive applications requires low latency, such as accident warnings, driving guidance, etc. However, frequent changes of topology in VANET will result in data transmission failures. In order to improve the efficiency of VANETs data transmission and increase the timeliness of data, this paper proposes a relay scheme based on Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) trajectory prediction, which can be used to select the optimal relay vehicle to transmit data. The proposed scheme learns vehicle trajectory in a distributed manner and calculates the predicted trajectory, and then the optimal vehicle can be selected to complete the data transmission, which ensures the timeliness of the data. Finally, we carry out a set of simulations to demonstrate the performance of the algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme enhances the timeliness of the data and the accuracy of the predicted driving trajectory. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Taking the characteristics of VANET (vehicular ad-hoc network) into account, a DTN (delay-tolerant networks) routing algorithm called motion-aware spray and search router (motion-aware spray and seek, MASS) was proposed based upon spray and wait router optimization design, and the method of optimization and specific procedures of the algorithm were described. Subsequently, several classic DTN routers and MASS router were simulated on ONE platform. Comparing the routing algorithms by picturing the statistics mentioned above, the different performance of each router on the VANET was analyzed. Intelligent Transport Systems applications for commercial vehicles are aimed at minimizing stops that are not strictly necessary (for weight control, licenses or approvals) and improved logistics for fleet operators, including the use of intermodal transport. This article addresses the development of a system that monitors and informs a road train, that forms in real-time, about the length of a selected route, the travel time on the route, and especially the route fuel consumption. By collecting information from fleets of trucks, the communication interface between the vehicle and the fleet monitoring and information system will cover a large area of interest. Abstract: Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) are an upcoming technology that is gaining momentum in recent years. That may be the reason that the network attracts more and more attention from both industry and academia. Due to the limited bandwidth of wireless communication medium, scalability is a major problem. Data aggregation is a solution to this. The goal of data aggregation is to combine the messages and disseminate this in larger region. While doing aggregation integrity of the information can not be easily verified and attacks may be possible. Hence aggregation must be secure. Although there are several surveys covering VANETs, they do not concentrate on security issues specifically on data aggregation. A vehicular ad-hoc network is a type of communication network where the nodes are vehicles. Their aim is to manage traffic efficiently in order to prevent unwanted events such as accidents, jams, etc. The research on this type of networks assumes the use of additional infrastructure installed on the roads, and special devices installed in vehicles. In this paper we propose a novel solution for the deployment of vehicular networks, which uses only existing smartphones with technologies such as Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. This approach will save the costs of road infrastructure deployment and extra vehicles devices, making it possible to deploy the first real-world vehicular ad-hoc network with a low cost. Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs) have been widely recognized as one of the most promising technologies to deliver data between vehicles to support various vehicular applications. In environments of VANETs with the feature of frequent network dynamics due to high mobility of vehicles, geographic routing is considered as an attractive approach because it can send data to a destination vehicle by using only the location information of vehicles. However, mobility of destination vehicles brings about a very challenging issue for data delivery to them because they have frequent location changes due to their continuous movements. Fortunately, the trajectory and road map information provided by on-board navigation systems of vehicles can efficiently support data delivery to them. Thus, we propose an efficient data delivery protocol that uses the trajectory information of a destination vehicle on a road map in VANETs. The proposed protocol first decides an efficient reception point on the trajectory of the destination vehicle by providing an arithmetical model based on a road map information to achieve the cost-minimized data delivery. Next, to deliver data to the efficient reception point, the proposed protocol determines an efficient data route by considering both the moving direction of the destination vehicle and the forwarding direction of data. Last, the proposed protocol provides a trajectory-based forwarding and a redirection forwarding based on data caching to cope with trajectory changes of the destination vehicle due to its moving speed and direction changes, respectively.
