The article explores the use of laparoscopic procedures in the treatment of endometriosis. Pelvic tenderness, a fixed retroverted uterus, tender utero-sacral ligaments or enlarged ovaries are the usual presentations of endometriosis. Relieving the symptoms and preventing recurrence accounting preservation of reproductive function is the goal of most medical treatment related to the disease. A laparoscopic approach in treating endometriosis brings benefits including a shorter duration of hospitalization, anesthesia and decreased risk of adhesion formation postoperatively. Adolescents with endometriosis was found to be receiving inadequate treatments to their complaints, which is usually cyclic pain.
