Coupling agent γ-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane（KH-570） was used as modifier to improve the superficial capacity of coal powder. Modified coal powder/thermoplastic butadiene-styrene rubber (SBS) composites were prepared by mixing procedure. The modified and unmodified coal powder and mechanical properties of composites were characterized and analyzed by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), contact angle measuring instrument(CAMI), sedimentation test, rubber process analyzer (RPA) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Results showed that KH-570 can form chemical union with coal powder. The agglomeration of coal powder particles was effectively restricted after surface modification. The modified coal powder particles can be dispersed equally in rubber and form physical and chemical crosslinking structure with rubber.

The effects of radiation dose on the cell morphology and structure of the obtained foams were studied. The results showed that the foams possessed spherically closed cell structure with uniform cell size. The γ-ray irradiated PMMA sheets had a high cell density than those virgin PMMA.

In this paper, attapulgite(AT)/nature rubber (NR) composites have been prepared through melt blending process. First, different types of attapulgite were prepared.Secend,Fourier infrared spectroscopic (FTIR) was used to analyze attapulgite.Then,different types of attapulgite were filled into natural rubber according to different proportion.Finally, The mechanisms of composites were analyzed. The results showed that siliane coupling agent Si-69 can improve the dispersion of calcined attapulgite and enhance the chemical interfacial adhesion.

Electron spin resonance techniques were employed to investigate the effects of the absorbed dose and post-irradiation conditions on the evolution and decay of free-radicals in cross-linked polytetrafluoroethylene (XPTFE), induced by γ-ray radiation. Chain-end free-radicals, chain alkyl free-radicals, and tertiary alkyl free-radicals were detected when XPTFE was irradiated under Ar atmosphere. The corresponding peroxy free-radicals were formed upon exposure of irradiated XPTFE to air; the free-radicals concentration first increased linearly with increasing absorbed dose and then gradually saturated. The free-radicals yield under air atmosphere was greater than that under Ar, and the peroxy free-radicals were preserved for a relatively long time when irradiated XPTFE was stored under air atmosphere. The chain alkyl free-radicals may be converted to chain end free-radicals by β-scission, while chain end free-radicals are more sensitive to oxygen than chain alkyl free-radicals. When the annealing temperature was raised above the α-transition temperature of XPTFE, the decay of the free-radicals was greatly affected and accelerated by the motion of the molecules over the long range.
