Abstract: Application of 3,3-dimethylnaphtidine as chromogenic reagent in the flow-injection system with spectrophotometric detection enables the determination of free residual chlorine with sufficient selectivity and detectability with sampling rate 150 samples per hour. The developed method was satisfactorily applied to the analysis of treated water samples, although their limited selectivity to chloramines was also demonstrated.
