The weaknesses of Conventional Compression Testing Machines (CCTM) for student practicum are the high costs of procurement, maintenance, electricity, concrete materials, and human/equipment error factors. This research proposed of Virtual Compression Testing Machine (VCTM) based on Multilayer Perceptron that uses 2 hidden layers, 60 neurons with bagging, and other parameters of a Deep Neural Network with RMSE value of 4.738. The application of VCTM has been successfully carried out and there was no significant difference with CCTM. VCTM can be used for various types of concrete with high testing intensity. This study aims to examine how the effect of engagement on organizational justice that can lead to employee willingness to help other employees without coercion so as to make good cooperation and produce good performance. The research method used is the explanatory survey method. Sampling was carried out using Accidental Sampling with a minimum sample size of 220 respondents from the population in the public sector at rural credit banks in Lampung Province. The quality of the data obtained using the instrument was tested using validity, reliability, construct reliability and variance extracted. Before the data were analyzed, the Liliefors normal requirements, homogeneity, linearity and regression significance were tested. The data analysis technique used Structural Equation Modeling. The results of this study found that engagement has a direct positive effect on altruism, organizational justice has a direct positive effect on altruism, and engagement has a direct positive effect on organizational justice. This study discusses customer satisfaction in financial services organizations. The data collection method used was a questionnaire distributed to 250 banking customers and analyzed using the Lisrel SEM program. Research findings indicate that banking organizations that use internet technology in marketing can have an impact on customer satisfaction. Customer value obtained based on experience and good service can strengthen customer relationships. This research was conducted in the Indonesian context. This study investigated the impacts of different training methods (i.e., full training, partial training) and anxieties (i.e., high and low) of elementary school students on their mastery of backstroke swimming skills. This study was conducted as an extracurricular activity in the Islamic elementary school of Al-Azhar Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta. Materials and methods. The research design was level 2×2 involving 36 elementary school students (as research participants). The data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA and then used the Tukey test with a significance level of α = 0.05. Results. 1) The students' value of the backstroke swimming skill in the partial training (A1) was higher than their value for the full training (A2). 2) There was a difference between the partial training (A) and anxiety (B) regarding the backstroke swimming skills of the elementary school students. 3) The students' value for the backstroke swimming skill from partial training with high anxiety (A1B1) were higher than the value from the full training with high anxiety (A2B1) in this extracurricular activity in the Islamic elementary school of Al-Azhar Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta. 4) The value for students' backstroke swimming skills from the partial training for low anxiety (A1B2) was lower than the value from the full training with low anxiety (A2B2). better than the partial training for improving elementary school students' mastery of backstroke swimming skills. Conclusions. The research implications and suggestions are as follows. In this case, the application of the partial training method shows a better effect than the full training. The purpose of this study was to analyze and prove the effect of Good Governance and Competency of Human Resources and Intrinsic Motivation on Normative Commitment and Employee Performance with Innovation as Moderating Variable at the Regional Revenue Agency of East Kalimantan. This study uses a survey technique by distributing questionnaires; The data obtained were processed using the WarpPLS software statistical method. The population of this study were all employees of the Regional Revenue Agency in East Kalimantan with a total of 120 respondents. The results of this study can be concluded as follows: Good Governance, Human Resource Competence and Intrinsic Motivation have a positive effect on Normative Commitment. Good governance and Human Resource competence have a positive and insignificant effect on performance, but intrinsic motivation has a significant positive effect on the performance of employees of the Regional Revenue Agency of East Kalimantan Province. Mediation Normative commitment has an insignificant positive effect on the performance of the Regional Revenue Agency and significant positive innovation on the performance of the Regional Revenue Agency of East Kalimantan Province. This study aims to analyze and prove the direct relationship of the governance variable to tourism development, besides that it is also to analyze the mediating role of the governance variable between the competence manager variable and social competence on tourism development. The research method was carried out quantitatively with a descriptive research design with a sample of 175 respondents, using a saturated sampling technique and the data analysis method used was SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) using the SmartPLS Program. The results showed that the managerial competence and social competence variables partially had a significant positive effect on tourism governance. The variables of managerial competence, social competence and governance have a significant positive effect on tourism development. Purpose This study investigates the new management paradigm for pesantren from the standpoint of societal transformation in the digital age. Social change is considered in modern management, technology, educational reforms, and quality assurance. Design/methodology/approach: This study uses a quantitative research methodology to investigate the new pesantren management paradigm from the standpoint of social transformation. 155 valid responses to a questionnaire survey were used for data collection and analysis. PLS-SEM, or partial least squares structural equation modeling, was used to analyze the data. Findings: As a result of social change, pesantren administration is modernized, and the educational system has altered due to increased digitization. As a result, the administration of pesantren has undergone many adjustments due to social development. The management of pesantren can be improved in the digital age through modern management, technology, educational changes, and quality assurance. Practical implications: The administration of pesantren must adopt a new paradigm in the current era of digitization. Pesantren's management needs modern management, technology, educational reforms, and quality assurance to handle social change. Therefore, practitioners should consider social change when developing strategies for pesantren management. Originality/value: The interesting aspect of this study is how it manages pesantren by employing social transformation. The Indonesian government is trying to carry out poverty alleviation programs by implementing the Family Hope Program. This study aims to see FDS material's effect on the economy on the financial management of KPM PKH with the population being the Beneficiary Family (KPM) Family Hope Program (PKH) and PKH Facilitators. They are in Lampung, Yogyakarta, and Bandung. This research is a mixed method of mixed data research. Qualitative data is used to describe the condition of KPM and the family financial management process of KPM. At the same time, quantitative is obtained using a questionnaire as a data collection tool and processed with statistical data. The results of this study found that PKH assistance funds were beneficial for those who received assistance, especially in the household needs sector and for children's school supplies. Whereas the perceived output is that the beneficiaries in managing finances are more orderly and structured, better financial management is expected to change lives for the better. This study aimed to expand PDEODE*E Tasks with the Think-Pair-Share model for reconstructing students' misconceptions on work and energy. The PDEODE*E Tasks with Think-Pair-Share model implemented for students who had not taught the concept of work and energy. The participants include 36 students of tenth grade (22 girls and 14 boys, whose ages ranged from 15 to 16 years) at a senior high school in Bandung, Indonesia. Students' misconceptions evaluated by administering an Energy and Momentum Conceptual Survey (EMCS) comprised of 18 items in the form of four-tier, as pre- and post-test. Furthermore, students' thoughts also elicited using worksheets of seven PDEODE*E tasks. A qualitative approach is used to analyze the test and worksheets. The data analysis had mostly focused on work and energy concepts such as work, energy, and conservation of energy. The findings suggested that PDEODE*E Tasks with Think-Pair-Share model improved students' conceptual understanding and reduced most of their misconceptions despite a little misconception motionless occurred. This study analyzes the image of the destination, value, cultural collectivism on the quality of local products sold in a tourism destination, and tourists' referral behavior. The sampling method was conducted using purposive sampling in which the sample is a tourist visiting the tourist area. The sample size involved is 200 respondents obtained from two regions of Sumatra and Java, Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. The analysis tool uses SEM with two approaches. Based on the results of tests performed on the SEM, the results showed that the image of the destination has a positive effect on destination image. Another finding reveals that the the quality of local products sold in tourism destination positively influences consumer interest to provide a reference to others. The aim of this research is formulating the long sleeved motif pattern of shirt which can be extended into various sizes of long-sleeved batik shirt in which the motif is sanggit patterned. This employed action-participatory research to test the draft pattern by actively involved the batik entrepreneurs, motif designers and tailors. The data were collected through the techniques of observation, interviews, FGDs and document analysis. The result produces a pattern of long-sleeved rectangular shirt motif, 115 cm width and 250 cm length, divided into 12 symmetrical objects of vertical axis. The pattern works to develop the motifs, which can be made into a long-sleeved batik shirt of various sizes (S, M, L, XL and XXL). It is quite effective and efficient to develop random batik asymmetrical motifs and the resulting motif can meet sanggit at the front shirt or buttons, the left, right sides, pocket and specific motifs on cuff and collar parts. Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) constitutes a national threat to Indonesia from many perspectives because the number of new cases there is increasing faster than in any of the other countries in Asia. Susceptibility to opportunistic infection leads to high morbidity and mortality rates, especially because HAART is not widely distributed. A diagnosis of AIDS is often confirmed only after the patient is severely immunocompromised. HIV-1 TAT is a HIV regulatory protein which plays an important role in viral replication. Extracellular TAT has been associated with many pathological conditions related to AIDS. To detect the presence of TAT in plasma as a means of assessing its potency as a diagnostic and progression marker of HIV/AIDS. An analytic observational study was conducted on 80 HIV(+) patients and 30 control patients in Soetomo Hospital. The diagnosis of HIV was confirmed by reference to medical records. A CD4+ count was effected by flowcytometry, while the HIV-1 TAT plasma level was measured by means of ELISA. The correlation between the CD4+ count and HIV-1 TAT plasma level was analyzed by Pearson. HIV-1 TAT presented only in HIV(+) patients. Increased HIV-1 TAT plasma level correlates to a decreased CD4+ count (r=-0.912; p=0.000, p<0.049). HIV-1 TAT is a potential diagnostic biomarker indicating the degree of disease progression of HIV/AIDS. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Heat penetration during drying process of seaweed will rupture the seaweed cell wall. Different drying methods (drying with an oven, sun drying and solar tunnel drying) to produce Semi refined carrageenan (SRC) from Kappaphycus alvarezii have been studied. The aims of the study was to compare physicochemical characteristic of SRC on follow the morphological and functional group structure images and the quality of the product. The results indicated that different drying methods in the production of SRC made of Kappaphycus alvarezii did not give any difference to the morphological structure among the products. All samples showed an amorphous shape. The bands of the SRC product was at 2924,09 cm -1 ,1558 cm -1 , 1072,42 cm -1 respectively which indicated that products contained aliphatic, carboxyl, and glycosidic linkage. Spectra at absorption band of 848,68 cm -1 is related to sulphation level of K. alvarezii which is kappa-carrageenan origin. The finest structure of SRC was resulted from solar tunnel drier which result in high gel strength and lowest sulphate content. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In developing countries adaptation responses to climate and global change should be integrated with human development to generate no regrets, co-benefit strategies for the rural poor, but there are few examples of how to achieve this. The adaptation pathways approach provides a potentially useful decision-making framework because it aims to steer societies towards sustainable futures by accounting for complex systems, uncertainty and contested multi-stakeholder arenas, and by maintaining adaptation options. Using Nusa Tenggara Barat Province, Indonesia, as an example we consider whether generic justifications for adaptation pathways are tenable in the local context of climate and global change, rural poverty and development. Interviews and focus groups held with a cross-section of provincial leaders showed that the causes of community vulnerability are indeed highly complex and dynamic, influenced by 20 interacting drivers, of which climate variability and change are only two. Climate change interacts with population growth and ecosystem degradation to reduce land, water and food availability. Although poverty is resilient due to corruption, traditional institutions and fatalism, there is also considerable system flux due to decentralisation, modernisation and erosion of traditional culture. Together with several thresholds in drivers, potential shocks and paradoxes, these characteristics result in unpredictable system trajectories. Decision-making is also contested due to tensions around formal and informal leadership, corruption, community participation in planning and female empowerment. Based on this context we propose an adaptation pathways approach which can address the proximate and systemic causes of vulnerability and contested decision-making. Appropriate participatory processes and governance structures are suggested, including integrated livelihoods and multi-scale systems analysis, scenario planning, adaptive co-management and ‘livelihood innovation niches’. We briefly discuss how this framing of adaptation pathways would differ from one in the developed context of neighbouring Australia, including the influence of the province's island geography on the heterogeneity of livelihoods and climate change, the pre-eminence and rapid change of social drivers, and the necessity to ‘leap-frog’ the Millennium Development Goals by mid-century to build adaptive capacity for imminent climate change impacts. Abstract: Introduction: The purpose of this in vitro study was to obtain a better understanding of the mechanism of irrigant traveling apically and generating 2-phase intermittent counter flow in straight root canal models during activation of the irrigant by ultrasonic means in an endodontic procedure. Methods: A high-speed imaging system, with high temporal and spatial resolution (FastCam SA5; Photron, Tokyo, Japan) at a frame rate of 100,000 frames per second using a macro lens (60 mm, f/2.8; Nikon, Tokyo, Japan), was used to visualize, in glass models of root canals, an ultrasonically induced acoustic pressure wave in an EDTA solution environment. A 25-mm stainless steel noncutting file #20 driven by an ultrasonic device (P5 Newtron; Satelec Acteon, Mérignac, France) at power settings of 5 and 7 produced disturbances at the solution-air interface. Results: We found that apically directed travel of the irrigant was caused by disruption of the surface tension at the solution-air interface. This disruption caused by ultrasonic activation energy displaced air in the form of bubbles from the apical region toward the solution. Conclusions: The apical movement of the solution may be attributed to ultrasonically induced wave generation at the solution-air interface, resulting in the removal of trapped air from the root canal and allowing the solution to travel apically in the opposite directions (via a 2-phase intermittent counter flow). As one of the strategies to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing (SD) measures are recommended to control disease spread and reduce the attack rate. Therefore, this study aims to estimate the costs and effects of SD measures through school closures, workforce, and community contact reductions for mitigating the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. Two mitigation scenarios of SD for 1 month and continuous SD were compared with the baseline (no intervention). A modified Susceptible-Exposed-Infected-Recovered (SEIR) compartmental model accounting for disease spread during the latent period was applied by considering a 1-year time horizon. The costs of healthcare, school closures, and productivity loss due to disease as well as intervention were considered to estimate the total pandemic cost among all scenarios. In a comparison with the baseline, the result showed that total savings in scenarios of SD for 1 month and continuous SD was approximately $415 billion and $699 billion, respectively, while the averted deaths were 4.6 million and 8.5 million, respectively. Sensitivity analysis showed that basic reproduction number, infectious period, daily wage, incubation period, daily ICU admission cost, and case fatality rate were the most influential parameters affecting the savings and the number of averted deaths. SD measures through school closures, workforce, and community contact reductions were concluded to be cost-saving. This article reviews the current situation of social protection systems in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, especially their effectiveness and efficiency. The findings show that the programs of social protection vary and are, among others, determined by different levels of economic development, social culture, and structures, as well as by the diverse qualifications and efficiency of government institutions.
