L’hidradénome papillifère (HP) est une prolifération adénomateuse de glandes ano-génitales de type mammaire. Ces glandes siègent électivement dans les sillons interlabiaux de la vulve, sur le périnée et sur la marge anale. Quatre-vingt dix pour cent des HP se situent sur la vulve. La localisation anale est moins connue.

•We describe symptomatic Mycoplasma genitalium(MG) anoproctitis in MSM patients.•Patients were tested for C. trachomatis, N. gonorrhoeae, M. genitalium.•MG was positive for 15% of patients with 61% of macrolide resistance.•Clinical symptoms were associated with all sexual pathogens.

Kabatiella caulivora is the causal agent of clover scorch, a fungal disease of clover (Trifolium) species. Variability within and between K. caulivora Race 1 and Race 2 was determined by cultural characteristics, isozymes, and amplified fragment length polymorphisms (AFLP). Cultural studies indicated isolates from both races were highly variable. No differences were identified within or between races by isozyme analysis. Similarity coefficients, determined from AFLP analysis, indicated that isolates from different races were often more similar than isolates from the same race. Comparison of single representative isolates from Race 1 and Race 2, collected at a Denmark (Western Australia) disease site, with isolates collected from another site of clover scorch outbreak at Esperance, 300 km east of Denmark, indicated most of the isolates causing the second outbreak were similar to Race2, confirming previously conducted pathogenicity tests. It is hypothesised that Race 2 may have evolved from Race 1, and that the level of variability in the pathogen indicates the potential for development of further new races of K. caulivora. The requirement for improved selection strategies, including the screening of new cultivars and breeding lines with multiple isolates of the pathogen, is discussed in relation to these findings.

Abstract:: Self-assembling properties of deoxyguanosine 5'-monophosphate in isotropic solutions of concentrations from 0.5 wt% to 15 wt% were investigated by dynamic light scattering (DLS) and 31P NMR spectroscopy. A slow diffusive mode with a diffusion coefficient D slow∼ 10-12 m2/s was detected by DLS for the whole concentration range. This mode is assigned to the translational motion of large globular aggregates, similar to those observed in DNA and other polyelectrolyte solutions. The existence of such aggregates was confirmed by freeze fracture electron microscopy. Close to the isotropic-cholesteric phase transition, at 4 wt% c 10 wt%, also a faster diffusive mode is observed in the polarized DLS response and a very fast mode is detected by depolarized DLS. These modes are related to translational and rotational diffusion of the columnar stacks of guanosine molecules, which are favorably formed in the relatively narrow pretransitional region. The stacking was also revealed from the appearance of a secondary resonance line in the 31P NMR spectra. Using the hydrodynamic theory of Tirado and Garcia de la Torre, the length of the cylindrical stacks was found to be L = 364±78 Å, which is significantly larger than the values reported for other guanosine derivatives.

Measurements under laboratory conditions of the total inward leakages of a compressed air breathing apparatus (without positive pressure), worn by 49 firemen, show that 16 of the firemen had minimum protection factors smaller than 2000. The influence of beards, sideburns, long hair and anthropometry on the efficiency of the respiratory protection has been established. Based on this performance testing, suggestions for improving the protection level of each fireman could be given, after which all firemen with one exception obtained minimum protection factors higher than 2000.
