To report the clinical effects of acupuncture on alacrimia after child traumatic brain injury.

The paper reports a successful case of unilateral oculomotor palsy treated with acupuncture in a Chinese boy aged 5 years and 3 months. Filiform needles were applied for ptosis, ocular motility impairment and blurred vision of the left oculomotor palsy after arachnoid cyst surgery. Two stages of treatment with acupuncture were composed. Acupuncture in the first stage focused on resolving stasis, unblocking meridians and activating qiand blood circulation, especially at the acupoints around the eye, combined with the distal points (four gate points) to enhance qimovement and activate blood circulation, once daily. Besides, the western medicines for nerve nutrition were added. One month later, all the symptoms were alleviated, and the eyelid could be lifted. Then, the second stage of acupuncture started, during which, the western medicine for nerve nutrition was withdrawal, acupuncture was continued with the same acupoints as the first stage, once every two days. Besides, the thumb-tack needle was used to maintain the effect of filiform needle, and Zusanli (ST36) was added to replenish qiof spleen and stomach and promote circulation of meridians. Another month later, the lift of the left eyelid and the ocular motility were basically symmetrical to the right eye, and the left eye vision returned normal. Follow-up until the time of publication, the motility and function of the affected eye were basically the same as those of the healthy side. This case suggests that the staged intervention with acupuncture could be effective in child with unilateral oculomotor palsy after arachnoid cyst surgery and were acceptable for child. Further studies are needed to confirm the effect and mechanism of acupuncture intervention on postoperative oculomotor palsy.

To overcome the shortcomings of external PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and soft PLC being widely employed in switch control of CNC machine tool, an embedded PLC system was developed by integrating AVR single chip ATMEGA169, PC bus technique and dual port RAM. Both hardware circuit and software of the PLC system were designed and implemented. The software of Industrial PC was developed by using ladder-diagram IDE (Integrated Design Environment) based on the platform of Borland C++ Builder. In this environment, it can fulfill edit, compilation and communication function of ladder-diagram file. It also can monitor and diagnose PLC running status. This developed embedded PLC system has the characteristics of compact structure, high communication and reliability. It can effectively satisfy real-time control requirements of CNC machine tool.

Based on the energy conservation, calculate the carbon footprint of single wall corrugated boards. By calculating the heat balance of each unit in the corrugated board production line, the steam quantity of each unit was calculated and translated into direct carbon emissions; indirect carbon emission was calculated by the electric carbon emission factor. Evaluates to: producing quantitative 140/110/170(g/m2) single wall board for 100m2, the direct and indirect emission of CO2 is 25.4kg and 9.4kg.

Ti-SBA-15 mesoporous materials were directly synthesized via a hydrothermal process and characterized by using nitrogen adsorption-desorption measurements, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, diffuse reflectance ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, and infrared ray spectroscopy. The effect of synthesis temperatures on the structure and catalytic efficiency in epoxidation of cyclohexene was discussed in details. The results showed that the optimal temperature was 100 oC under the reaction conditions.

Combining cerebella model articulation controller with sliding mode control, a novel control algorithm is designed. It adopts neuron PID controller as the teacher signal of CMAC. The control error rapidly tends to zero by adjusting weight of each corresponding unit in CMAC storage. The control algorithm eliminates the chattering in the conventional sliding mode control. It also has high real-time, strong robustness and better convergence. The control algorithm is applied on position servo system of NC machining tool. The experimental results show that it improves dynamic performance and static performance of position servo system. It can realize rapid and exact position servo control of NC machine tool.

A hardware implement scheme is proposed based on digital signal processor, and the complex programmable logic device and industry standard architecture bus is proposed. The dual-port random access memory communication circuit, I/O port address decoding circuit, two axis control output circuit and position detecting circuit are developed, the main program and interrupt-serving program of digital signal processor are designed by the idea of modularization. The static accuray of the motion control card is tested via special experimental device. The present analysis show that the designed circuit is effective and the static control precision of motion control card is satisfied.

Hydroxyl sulfobetaine surfactant can be used as a foaming agent in high temperature and high salinity reservoirs. To find out the stability of this type of surfactant at high temperature and high salinity conditions, the solutions of four hydroxyl sulfobetaine surfactants, CH3(CH2)11N+(CH3)2CH2CH(OH)CH2SO3−(HSB1214), CH3(CH2)17N+(CH3)2CH2CH(OH)CH2SO3−(HSB1618), CH3(CH2)10CONH(CH2)3N+(CH3)2CH2CH(OH)CH2SO3−(LHSB), CH3(CH2)22CONH(CH2)3N+(CH3)2CH2CH (OH) –CH2SO3−(EHSB), were aged in 25% TDS (total dissolved solids) brine for different durations at 110–150 °C and their concentration was determined by liquid chromatography. The results showed that the thermal stability of HSB1214 and HSB1618 was significantly better than that of LHSB and EHSB, and it could be significantly improved by adding certain thiourea to the LHSB solution with high salinity. Therefore, LHSB and EHSB were recommended to be used as non-acid gas foaming agents at 110 °C, and HSB1214 and HSB1618 were recommended to be used as non-acid gas foaming agents at 130 °C and above. Given the increased thermal decomposition of hydroxyl sulfobetaine with an amide group at pH 3–4, it is recommended to select hydroxyl sulfobetaine without the amide group on the molecule, such as HSB1214 and HSB1618, as the foaming agent to control CO2mobility for the reservoir at 110–130 °C. Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis on the heat-treated surfactant solution showed that LHSB was hydrolyzed mainly at the amide position, and HSB1214 may be broken from the connection between long alkyl chain and the quaternary nitrogen at high temperature.
