The development of diversity awareness at Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, has been a work in progress since the early 1980s. The interface of administration and individual initiatives ('waterfalls' and 'geysers') has resulted in projects ranging from major international exchange programs to noontime Spanish language classes.
