The EMC Society Board of Directors has approved four new Distinguished Lecturers (DLs) for the term 2021–2022. They are Dr. Wendem Beyene, Prof. Alexandre Piantini, Prof. Akimasa Hirata, and Mr. Stephen Scearce. Our other current four DLs, Dr. Bhy-rav Mutnury, Dr. Alpesh U. Bhobe, Dr. D. V. Giri, and Mr. Michael K. Mclnerney will continue their terms through December of 2021.

Hello everyone, welcome to the first issue of 2023. I hope the year has started well for you. I know we have a very busy year ahead of us and I wanted to share with you details about the upcoming events, so you are prepared for what is around the corner.

Hello and welcome to Issue 2 of 2023! I want to keep you abreast on the developments in “Quarter 2” within our EMC Society.

Staying true to the statement, time appears to pass more quickly when one is engaged in something they enjoy, I have to say my term as President has come to an end and these past two years have gone by way too quickly. I am sure I was not a perfect leader, but I hope I was at least an authentic one. I have grown professionally and personally because of this role and offer sincere thanks to the Board of Directors for the trust you had in me and the opportunity to serve as President. Special thanks to my executive committee that did most of the heavy lifting.

The EMC Society Board of Directors has approved four new Distinguished Lecturers (DLs) for the term 2019–2020. They are Prof. Marcos Rubinstein, Dr. Xiaoxiong (Kevin) Gu, Prof. Seungyoung Ahn and Prof. Liang Zhou. Our other three DLs, Dr. Ihsan Erdin, Mr. Zhong Chen and Dr. Richard Xian-Ke Gao continue their terms through December of 2019.

Hello and welcome to the 4th Quarter 2022 issue of EMC Magazine. I wish you all a wonderful start to the year 2023. May this New Year be filled with new adventures and good fortunes!

I read the quote “Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain,” somewhere and I cannot remember who wrote it, but it is ever so relevant now with the inconstant COVID situation as we got ready to meet in Spokane for the first in-person symposium held in about three years.

I want to start this President's Message by thanking the wonderful volunteers that made the 2022 IEEE International Sym-posium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, Signal and Power Integrity (EMC+SIPI) in Spokane, Washington a huge success. As you can imagine, we all walked into it without fully knowing what to expect - How many people are really going to show up? Will they be interested meeting in close quarters? How well are the social events going to be attended? Will people be willing to shake hands with each other? Will we have a good international delegate representation at the symposium? And the answer to every one of these questions was an astounding, “Yes, we are ready!”

It is my distinct pleasure to deliver my first message as the President of the EMC Society. I received the official gavel from Dr. Alistair Duffy at the 2022 December Board Meeting held in Charleston, SC. Alistair has been such a great leader, an inspiration, and above all a great friend. I cannot imagine anyone more qualified to handle the Office of President during the unprecedented times of the pandemic, which took its course for almost his entire presidency. Even with such challenges, we were able to accomplish quite a lot due to the support team of excellent volunteers including the EMC Society's Executive Committee and IEEE staff.

In the rapidly evolving industry of autonomous vehicles, the ability to successfully provide vehicle level ADAS measurements will be key to the future of this market and address public safety concerns. This presentation looks at one set of EMC based tests that are being developed to help OEM's and test labs validate the RF performance of these systems under controlled and repeatable conditions.

TC-9 is concerned with broad aspects of applied Computational Electromagnetic (CEM) techniques which can be used to model electromagnetic interaction phenomena in circuits, devices, and systems. The primary focus is the identification of the modeling methods that can be applied to interference (EMC) phenomena, their validation and delineating the practical limits of their applicability. Included are low and high frequency spectral-domain techniques and timedomain methods.

As part of the growing Sister Society efforts, the IEEE EMC Society recently signed the Sister Society agreement with the EMC Society of Australia (EMCSA) during the 2013 Asia Pacific EMC Symposium in Melbourne, Australia. This historic agreement between the two societies enables all the EMCSA members to be recognized as a Sister Society member of the IEEE EMC Society.
