The purpose of this study was to assess the effects of psychological interventions on the pregnancy rates of infertile women undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART). Using the electronic databases PubMed, EM Base, Cochrane Library, WOS, CNKI, WanFang Data, CSTJ, and CBM, a systematic literature search was conducted in the second week of August 2019. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the effect of psychological interventions on the pregnancy rate of infertile women undergoing assisted reproductive technology were collected. There is no time limit for this search setting. The language is limited to Chinese or English. Two investigators independently screened the literature, extracted data, and assessed the risk of bias of the included studies, and then used Revman5.3 and STATA16.0 software for meta-analysis. A total of 25 randomized controlled trials were included in this meta-analysis, including 2098 patients in the experimental group and 2075 patients in the control group. There was a significant difference in the pregnancy rate between the two groups [RR=1.31, 95%CI(1.22,1.40)]. Subgroup analysis showed that this is also true of infertile women of different nationalities, different intervention timing and format. However, different psychological interventions may indeed have different effects. Current evidence suggests that psychological interventions may improve pregnancy rates in infertile women undergoing assisted reproductive technology. To determine the effectiveness of psychological interventions in postoperative anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) compared to standard rehabilitation. The databases searched were PubMed, MEDLINE, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, PEDro, Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health Literature, and EMBASE were searched from each database inception to May 2023 for published studies. The methodological quality was assessed with the Cochrane Risk of Bias Assessment (RoB 2.0) tool. The evidence quality was evaluated using the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation approach. Six papers were included in the meta-analysis. Psychological intervention significantly improved Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia at 3 months (Standard Mean Difference [SMD], −0.51. 95% Confidence Interval [CI], −0.85 to −0.17) and pain (Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score for Pain, Numeric Rating Scale, Visual Analog Scale) at 3 months (SMD, −0.92. 95%CI, −1.69 to −0.15) and at 6 months following ACLR (MD, −1.25. 95%CI, −1.82 to −0.68) when compared with the standard rehabilitation, according to very low-quality data. Self-efficacy and knee strength did not show significant differences. Very low-quality evidence suggests that psychological intervention following ACLR yields better short-term outcomes compared to standard rehabilitation, with uncertainty about its clinically significant benefits over standard rehabilitation. • Psychological problems in ACLR patients are considered a major issue in return to sports. • A systematic review compared the intervention effects of psychological and standard rehabilitation interventions. • The quality of the evidence was very low. • Psychological intervention significantly improved TSK at 3 months and pain at 3 months at 6 months following ACLR. • There is uncertainty about its clinically significant benefits over standard rehabilitation. • We developed a structured narrative therapy-combined-with-a solution focus (NTCSF) program for nursing home residents. • Implementing psychological interventions is essential for well-being of older adults who moving into nursing homes. • Positive outcomes were reported in terms of psychological adjustment, depression, self-efficacy. The transition from the family home to a nursing home can be an emotionally stressful experience for older adults. This study aimed to examine the feasibility and effects of a narrative therapy combined with a solution focus (NTCSF) program on the psychological adjustment, depression, and self-efficacy of nursing home residents. A non-random concurrent controlled trial was conducted in Fujian, China that involved 81 participants (intervention = 41, comparison = 40) from four separate nursing homes. The control group received routine institutional care, while the intervention group underwent a three-week NTCSF program in addition to receiving routine care. In the variance analyses, significant differences were found in "psychological adjustment" (T = 4.007, P < 0.001) and "self-efficacy" (T = 3.204, P = 0.002), compared to the control group. There was no significant difference in "depression" (t = -1.550, P = 0.125) between the groups at the baseline, but the experimental group showed a significant decrease in depression (t = -2.204, P = 0.033) after the intervention. The NTCSF program was found to be effective in improving the psychological adjustment of nursing home residents. • Seizure-related measures are commonly used outcomes in psychological intervention trials in patients with FDS. • Our meta-analysis suggests that psychological treatment is associated with improvements in seizure-related outcomes in patients with FDS with a moderate effect size (d = 0.53). • Approximately two in three patients maintain improvement in their seizures at follow-up, while two in five continue to demonstrate seizure freedom. • Analyses revealed that a reduction rather than cessation of FDS frequency is more likely following psychological therapy. • Research is required to identify how best to standardise methods, in particular the examination and reporting of seizure measurements. Psychological interventions are the most recommended treatment for functional/dissociative seizures (FDS); however, there is ongoing uncertainty about their effectiveness on seizure outcomes. This systematic review and meta-analysis synthesises the available data. In February 2023, we completed a systematic search of four electronic databases. We described the range of seizure-related outcomes captured, used meta-analytic methods to analyse data collected during treatment and follow-up; and explored sources of heterogeneity between outcomes. Overall, 44 relevant studies were identified involving 1,300 patients. Most were categorised as being at high (39.5 %) or medium (41.9 %) risk of bias. Seizure frequency was examined in all but one study; seizure intensity, severity or bothersomeness in ten; and seizure duration and cluster in one study each. Meta-analyses could be performed on seizure freedom and seizure reduction. A pooled estimate for seizure freedom at the end of treatment was 40 %, while for follow-up it was 36 %. Pooled rates for ≥50 % improvement in seizure frequency were 66 % and 75 %. None of the included moderator variables for seizure freedom were significant. At the group level, seizure frequency improved during the treatment phase with a moderate pooled effect size (d = 0.53). FDS frequency reduced by a median of 6.5 seizures per month. There was also evidence of improvement of the other (non-frequency) seizure-related measures with psychological therapy, but data were insufficient for meta-analysis. The findings of this study complement a previous meta-analysis describing psychological treatment-associated improvements in non-seizure-related outcomes. BACKGROUND: Anxiety and depression are common psychological health problems in breast cancer patients, which not only increase the risk of cancer recurrence but also affect the quality of life of patients. Exercise combined with psychological intervention, as an important intervention method, has an improvement effect on anxiety and depression in breast cancer patients. However, there is currently a lack of evidence-based research to explore its clinical value and significance. OBJECTIVES: to explore the effects of exercise combined with psychological intervention on anxiety and depression in breast cancer patients using the method of meta-analysis. METHODS: PUBMED, Web of Science, The Cochrane Library, Ovid, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform, and VIP Chinese Scientific Journals Database were searched from the database's inception to September 2022. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of exercise combined with psychological intervention for breast cancer anxiety and/or depression were collected independently by five researchers for literature screening, quality evaluation, and data extraction. The quality of the literature was evaluated according to the "Risk of Bias Assessment Method" recommended by the Cochrane Handbook, and meta-analysis was performed using RevMan5.3. RESULTS: A total of 15 articles including 1338 breast cancer patients were included in this study. The meta-analysis results showed that the experimental group had lower anxiety scores [SMD = -1.25, 95% CI (-1.56, -0.95), P< 0.0001] and depression scores [SMD= -1.65, 95% CI (-2.49, -0.81), P = 0.0001] than the control group after exercise combined with psychological intervention. CONCLUSIONS: Exercise combined with psychological intervention can effectively alleviate anxiety and depression in breast cancer patients compared with the control group. Background: Internet-based psychological interventions provide accessible care to a wide range of users, overcoming some obstacles—such as distance, costs, and safety—that might discourage seeking help for mental issues. It is well known that psychological treatments and programs affect the body, as well as the mind, producing physiological changes that ought to be considered when assessing the efficacy of the intervention. However, the literature investigating changes in biomarkers specifically after internet-based psychological and mental health interventions has not yet extensively inquired into this topic. Objective: This systematic review aims to provide a synthesis of literature examining the effects of internet-based psychological interventions—targeting both clinical (mental and physical) and nonclinical conditions—on biomarkers. A secondary aim was to evaluate whether the biomarkers' variations were related to a complementary modification of the psychological or physical symptoms or to a general improvement of the participants' well-being. Methods: This review was conducted according to the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) statement. A literature search was performed through 3 databases (PubMed, PsycINFO, and Scopus). Studies examining changes in biomarkers before and after internet-based psychological interventions or programs targeting both clinical and nonclinical samples were included, with no exclusion criteria concerning mental or physical conditions. Results: A total of 24 studies fulfilled the inclusion criteria. These studies involved individuals with psychiatric or psychological problems (n=6, 25%), those with organic or medical diseases (n=10, 42%), and nonclinical populations (n=8, 33%). Concerning psychiatric or psychological problems, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and CBT-informed interventions showed partial effectiveness in decreasing glycated hemoglobin blood glucose level (n=1) and chemokines (n=1) and in increasing connectivity between the default-mode network and the premotor or dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (n=1). Among individuals with organic or medical diseases, studies reported a significant change in cardiac or cardiovascular (n=3), inflammatory (n=2), cortisol (n=2), glycated hemoglobin (n=2), and immune response (n=1) biomarkers after CBT and CBT-informed interventions, and mindfulness and stress management interventions. Lastly, mindfulness, CBT and CBT-informed interventions, and music therapy succeeded in modifying immune response (n=2), cortisol (n=1), α amylase (n=1), posterior cingulate cortex reactivity to smoking cues (n=1), and carbon monoxide (n=1) levels in nonclinical populations. In some of the included studies (n=5), the psychological intervention or program also produced an improvement of the mental or physical condition of the participants or of their general well-being, alongside significant variations in biomarkers; CBT and CBT-informed interventions proved effective in reducing both psychological (n=2) and physical symptoms (n=2), while a mindfulness program successfully lowered cigarette consumption in a nonclinical sample (n=1). Background: Chronic noncancer pain (CNCP) is highly present among older adults, affecting their physical, psychological, and social functioning. A biopsychosocial multimodal approach to CNCP management is currently extensively suggested by international clinical practice guidelines. Recently, the growing development and application of eHealth within pain management has yielded encouraging results in terms of effectiveness and feasibility; however, its use among the older population remains underexamined. Objective: The overall aim of this scoping review was to systematically map existing literature about eHealth multimodal interventions (including both physical and psychosocial components) targeting older adults with CNCP. Methods: This review adhered to the JBI methodology, a protocol was a priori registered as a preprint on the medRxiv platform, and the results were reported according to the PRISMA-ScR (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews) guidelines. Four electronic databases (PubMed, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Web of Science, and PsycINFO) were systematically searched for relevant articles. Studies were included if they reported on multimodal interventions (including both physical and psychosocial components) delivered through any eHealth modality to an older population with any type of CNCP. Two reviewers selected the studies: first by screening titles and abstracts and second by screening full-text articles. The quality of the included studies was evaluated using the Quality Assessment Tool for Studies with Diverse Designs. The results of the studies were summarized narratively. Results: A total of 9 studies (n=6, 67% published between 2021 and 2023) with quality rated as medium to high were included, of which 7 (78%) were randomized controlled trials (n=5, 71% were pilot and feasibility studies). All the included studies evaluated self-management interventions, most of them (n=7, 78%) specifically designed for older adults. The participants were aged between 65 and 75 years on average (mean 68.5, SD 3.5 y) and had been diagnosed with different types of CNCP (eg, osteoarthritis and chronic low back pain). Most of the included studies (5/9, 56%) involved the use of multiple eHealth modalities, with a higher use of web-based programs and video consulting. Only 1 (11%) of the 9 studies involved a virtual reality–based intervention. The evaluated interventions showed signs of effectiveness in the targeted biopsychosocial outcomes, and the participants' engagement and ratings of satisfaction were generally positive. However, several research gaps were identified and discussed. Conclusions: Overall, of late, there has been a growing interest in the potential that eHealth multimodal interventions offer in terms of improving pain, physical, and psychosocial outcomes in older adults with CNCP. However, existing literature on this topic still seems scarce and highly heterogeneous, with few proper randomized controlled trials, precluding robust conclusions. Psychological factors, including pain catastrophizing, depression, and anxiety are factors that influence chronic pain and physical function after total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Previous studies have shown that exercise and psychological interventions improve psychological factors. However, the level of evidence on the effect of the combined exercise and psychological interventions on psychological factors after TKA is unclear. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the combined exercise and psychological interventions for patients who underwent TKA improves psychological factors compared to exercise alone or psychological intervention alone, and to determine the quality of the evidence. Moreover, to identify interventions with a high level of evidence that improve psychological factors in patients who underwent TKA. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were researched in PubMed, Cochrane Library, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro), and Igaku Chuo Zasshi. The PEDro scale was used for assessing the risk of bias. This study included seven RCTs. Combined exercise and cognitive behavioral therapy may be more effective than exercise intervention alone in improving pain catastrophizing in patients who underwent TKA. Additionally, combined exercise and auditory or visual intervention may be more effective than exercise intervention alone in improving depression in patients who underwent TKA. Epidemiological studies among older adults have demonstrated high rates of subclinical anxiety and depression. This is accompanied by increased distress related to aging and everyday life challenges, thus affecting wellbeing and increasing the risk of developing full mental disorders. This highlights the need for psychological interventions to focus on mental health and improve wellbeing in this population in compliance with the Model for Sustainable Mental Health framework. This study investigated the effectiveness of an acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) program through a cluster randomized controlled trial in a group of older adults in Poland. The participants lived in rural areas and small towns, with minimal or no opportunities to obtain psychological support. The total of 100 older adults were included in the study and randomized to either a 12-week ACT-based training programme or to a control group that participated in Positive Psychology Intervention (PPI). The statistical analyses showed that ACT intervention decreased psychopathological symptoms while increasing quality of life. The increases in psychological flexibility, acceptance, defusion, and present moment were statistically significant mediators in the relationship between group membership and increased quality of life. There were also significant decreases in stress, anxiety, and depression among participants exposed to the PPI component. The ACT intervention should help address the issues of mental health and wellbeing in older adults. • The aim of this study is to propose a prediction model of university students' psychological intervention. • The optical network transmission has high computational efficiency and accuracy. • The model can reliably predict and evaluate the effect of psychological intervention of college students. In the era of digital entertainment media, the rapid dissemination of information and the widespread application of social media have a huge impact on user behavior and psychology. For students, the experience of digital entertainment content may have potential adverse effects on their mental health. The aim of this study is to propose a prediction model of university students' psychological intervention based on optical network transmission based on parallel computing algorithm, in order to improve the computational efficiency and accuracy of the model. Then, a large number of psychological data of college students are collected, and feature extraction and model training are carried out by using machine learning algorithms. Finally, the predictive model of psychological intervention is simulated by parallel computing algorithm. The experimental results show that the optical network transmission based on parallel computing algorithm has high computational efficiency and accuracy in the prediction model of psychological intervention of college students. The model can reliably predict and evaluate the effect of psychological intervention of college students, provide an effective simulation tool for psychological intervention of college students, and help realize personalized and efficient psychological intervention measures. This study designs an entertainment interactive robot system for gaming psychotherapy intervention and evaluates its effectiveness in preventing depression in students. Preprocess user gesture data by analyzing the features and patterns of user gestures, extracting key action information, and using machine learning algorithms or deep learning models to classify and recognize gestures to determine user intent and action types. Evaluate action recognition and effectiveness, and verify the accuracy and reliability of the gesture interaction module through comparison and testing with actual user gestures. Objectives: Chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) is a complex condition. Despite recommendations for the inclusion of non-pharmacological treatment in the management of CP/CPPS, the focus has predominantly been on the inclusion of physical therapies with minimal discussion of psychological interventions. Therefore, this systematic review aimed to evaluate peer-reviewed studies of psychological interventions for men with CP/CPPS to determine their therapeutic efficacy and quality of intervention. Methods: The review was registered in PROSPERO and based on PRISMA 2020 protocol. The systematic literature search was conducted in six databases. Quantitative studies of psychological intervention for adult men with CP/CPPS that provided outcome measures of pain, quality of life and/or psychological symptoms were reviewed. The Oxford level of evidence and Quality Assessment Tool for Quantitative Studies developed by the Effective Public Health Practice were employed. Results: A total of 4,503 studies were reviewed; seven met the inclusion criteria. The included studies were randomised controlled trials, cohort, repeated measures, and case-series studies, with most including combined treatment for CP/CPPS. Cognitive therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, or paradoxical relaxation training were found to be effective. However, high risks of bias were found in all included studies, limiting the generalisability and reliability of findings. Conclusions: Evidence is preliminary but shows promise for psychological treatment either as a combined or standalone treatment for CP/CPPS. ADHD is a broad psychiatric disorder that affects children of normal or near-normal intelligence. It is characterized by inattention, hyperactivity, and age-inappropriate impulsivity, and it is often accompanied by learning difficulties, behavioral, emotional, and interpersonal problems. On the other hand, hyperactive tendencies in children with ADHD exhibit ADHD-like behaviors such as lack of self-control, inattention, hyperactivity, and emotional impulsivity. However, because their symptoms are less severe, they do not meet the diagnostic criteria for ADHD but are ADHD or at risk of developing ADHD. The purpose of this study is to alleviate and reduce children's hyperactivity symptoms by investigating the current situation of the children studied, and systematically intervening and educating children with ADHD through psychological group intervention. Research data shows that ADHD is most commonly diagnosed in school-age children, and in 70%-80% of children with ADHD, symptoms persist into adolescence and 30% into adulthood. Through the use of group psychological intervention in the experiment, the prevalence rate of children with hyperactivity disorder tendency has been effectively reduced. Background: The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in 2019 triggered psychological and emotional responses. This research investigates the psychological status and emotional problems of those who sought psychological assistance during the epidemic period by calling a mental health hotline. Methods: This study aims to combine qualitative and quantitative research. Descriptive analysis was used for undertaking qualitative research. We analyzed the data from group 1 (n = 706), in which the people used the mental health hotline from 25 January 2020 to 23 June 2020. A self-designed questionnaire was developed in accordance with the classification and summarized items from group 1's psychological problems and emotional status. To implement the quantitative research, we conducted a cross-sectional descriptive survey and used the self-compiled scale and HADS to investigate group 2 (n = 553) from May 2020 to June 2020. Results: Descriptive statistics and comparative analysis revealed that: 1 Visitors mainly reported behavior, emotional, family relationship problems and sleep disorders. 2 Anxiety, comorbidities, sleep disorders and coping problems were the most frequently reported problems. 3 There were significant differences in the number of visitors experiencing various problems or exhibiting harmful behaviors (sorrow, worry, fear, depression, sleep disorders, self-harm or suicide, and coping problems, anxiety, hypochondria, and comorbidity) in the four stages of the epidemic. 4 More than a quarter of participants still suffered from anxiety or depression in the later stages of the epidemic. Nursing students experience high levels of stress and anxiety during clinical practice. Although several psychological intervention programs have been developed to alleviate their distress, studies on the effects of mobile phone-based programs are limited. This study examined the effects of a mobile phone-based psychological intervention program on stress, anxiety, and self-efficacy among undergraduate nursing students during clinical practice. A randomized, controlled trial was conducted among 114 nursing students for 8 weeks. The intervention group received mobile phone-based psychological intervention (3 modules: support, education, and reflection), while the control group received a conventional face-to-face intervention and advice from clinical educators. Data on stress (Chinese version of the Stressors in Nursing Students Scale), anxiety (State Anxiety Scale), and self-efficacy (General Self-efficacy Scale) were collected at baseline, immediately post-intervention, and 6 months post-intervention. Repeated-measures analysis of variance was used analyze the intervention effects. Significant improvements in stress, anxiety, and self-efficacy (all P<0.05), and significant time and time–group interaction (all P<0.05) were observed in the intervention group than in the control group. OBJECTIVE: Using college psychological resources, this paper attempts to intervene in the family psychology of middle school students learning at home during the epidemic in northern Guangdong. Focusing on the impact of family system on the psychological health status of middle school students learning at home, it provides reference for targeted family psychological intervention and treatment of students. SUBJECTS AND METHODS: The "Psychological Health Survey Questions for Middle School Students Learning at Home during the Epidemic" was compiled to conduct a class-based random sampling survey of primary and secondary schools in northern Guangdong. Family psychological intervention is provided for key groups. RESULTS: (1) The middle school students' psychological health level was above average on the whole, but with great individual differences. (2) Families have a significant impact on students' psychological health, among which parents' occupation, family integrity, family economy, family atmosphere, and the number of children in the family all exert a significant impact on middle school students' psychological health. (3) Stepwise regression analysis reveals that the six factors of gender, grade, ethnicity and place of residence, family economy and atmosphere in the family environment system are included in the regression equation, explaining 11.6% of middle school students' psychological health. (4) Family psychological intervention significantly improves middle school students' psychological health. CONCLUSIONS: Local colleges' interference in middle school students' family psychological intervention can effectively improve psychological health of middle school students learning at home. In mental health, normalisation is not automatically implied by the lack of symptoms. Multiple interventional techniques and therapies were developed concerning people's mental health. Thus, the study aims to study the efficacy of psychological intervention programs in adolescents. To accomplish the objectives, this work has followed quantitative research methods, using both primary and secondary sources. For collecting primary data, a structured and self-administered questionnaire-based survey was conducted on 150 respondents in different educational bodies and schools situated in Ghaziabad. The survey research concluded that integrated and group intervention programs in the institutions with parents and faculties are high-throughput and efficacious for present leading life. Background: This article systematically reviews the literature on the effectiveness of psychological interventions for non-epileptic seizures (NES) in children and adolescents.Methods: Embase, Medline and PsycINFO were searched to December 2020, for articles published in English, which used an objective measure to evaluate the outcome of a psychological intervention for NES. Further studies were identified from reference lists and experts in the field were contacted for unpublished studies.Results: Twelve studies met inclusion criteria. Of these, four were set up with the primary aim of evaluating an intervention of which two used a control group, two were prospective outcome studies and eight looked at retrospective clinical data. Two studies evaluated a single treatment modality, the others multiple treatment components. Overall, psychoeducation, and top-down psychotherapy, such as cognitive therapies, were the most frequent interventions, with recent studies describing body-oriented (bottom-up) approaches. Analysis across all studies identified a range of additional intervention components which included assessment and/or treatment for co-morbidities, liaison with school and support for parents, highlighting the importance of individualised treatment packages.Conclusions: There is a paucity of studies specifically evaluating interventions for NES. Though a range of approaches have been described in managing this patient group, with generally positive outcomes, it is not possible to conclude from the available literature that one treatment approach is superior to another, though the information may be helpful in developing management guidelines. To assess the anxiety and depression situation and psychological intervention effect of the first-line medical staff in our hospital during the COVID-19 epidemic. A total of 384 front-line medical staff in our hospital from January 25 to March 8, 2020 were selected as subjects, which were divided into group A and group B respectively. PHQ-9 depression scale and GAD-7 self-rating anxiety scale questionnaire were used to investigate their anxiety and depression. After 1 month, all subjects were re-self-assessed for anxiety and depression, which were named as A1 and B1 group respectively. The GAD-7 anxiety scale had mild, moderate, and severe anxiety scores before group A, which were significantly higher than those in group B (P < 0.05); after psychological intervention, group A1 had significantly reduced anxiety scores (P < 0.05). And there were no markedly difference of PHQ-9 scale scores before and after psychological intervention between groups A and B, A and A1, and B and B1 (P > 0.05). Objectives: To highlight the efficacy of various psychological interventions (PI) when used in combination with, or in place of, phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors (PDE-5i), as compared to the traditional treatment of men with erectile dysfunction (ED) with PDE-5i alone. Methods: A comprehensive literature review for the years 2005–2020 via MEDLINE and PubMed. We included randomised controlled trials that compared the use of either PDE-5i alone, PI alone or a combination of PDE-5i and PI in the treatment of psychogenic ED. All studies included were performed in adults aged 19–55 years and were written in English. Results: A total of 13 articles, with an overall sample of 597 men, were included in this systematic review. The results show that the combination of PI and PDE-5i was more effective than either PI or PDE-5i alone, on erectile function and long-term sexual satisfaction in men with psychogenic ED. Combined interventions were found to be significantly superior to medical treatment in seven studies and to PI alone in one study. In comparing PI to PDE-5i, two studies found PI to be significantly superior to PDE-5i use. In three other studies, PI was found significantly superior to no treatment at all, although some participants in the control group had taken PDE-5i. Conclusions: The combination of PDE-5i with PI shows real promise for the treatment of psychogenic ED. However, no conclusions could be made about what PI is more promising than the other and larger studies are needed to confirm these initial findings. Women can develop posttraumatic stress disorder in response to experienced or perceived traumatic, often medically complicated, childbirth; the prevalence of these events remains high in the United States. Currently, no recommended treatment exists in routine care to prevent or mitigate maternal childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of clinical trials that evaluated any therapy to prevent or treat childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder. PsycInfo, PsycArticles, PubMed (MEDLINE), ClinicalTrials.gov , CINAHL, ProQuest, Sociological Abstracts, Google Scholar, Embase, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, Scopus, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL) were searched for eligible trials published through September 2023. Trials were included if they were interventional, if they evaluated any therapy for childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder for the indication of symptoms or before posttraumatic stress disorder onset, and if they were written in English. Independent coders extracted the sample characteristics and intervention information of the eligible studies and evaluated the trials using the Downs and Black's quality checklist and Cochrane's method for risk of bias evaluation. Meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate pooled effect sizes of secondary and tertiary prevention trials. A total of 41 studies (32 randomized controlled trials, 9 nonrandomized trials) were reviewed. They evaluated brief psychological therapies including debriefing, trauma-focused therapies (including cognitive behavioral therapy and expressive writing), memory consolidation and reconsolidation blockage, mother-infant–focused therapies, and educational interventions. The trials targeted secondary preventions aimed at buffering childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder usually after traumatic childbirth (n=24), tertiary preventions among women with probable childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder (n=14), and primary prevention during pregnancy (n=3). A meta-analysis of the combined randomized secondary preventions showed moderate effects in reducing childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms when compared with usual treatment (standardized mean difference, −0.67; 95% confidence interval, −0.92 to −0.42). Single-session therapy within 96 hours of birth was helpful (standardized mean difference, −0.55). Brief, structured, trauma-focused therapies and semi-structured, midwife-led, dialogue-based psychological counseling showed the largest effects (standardized mean difference, −0.95 and −0.91, respectively). Other treatment approaches (eg, the Tetris game, mindfulness, mother-infant–focused treatment) warrant more research. Tertiary preventions produced smaller effects than secondary prevention but are potentially clinically meaningful (standardized mean difference, −0.37; −0.60 to −0.14). Antepartum educational approaches may help, but insufficient empirical evidence exists. Brief trauma-focused and non–trauma-focused psychological therapies delivered early in the period following traumatic childbirth offer a critical and feasible opportunity to buffer the symptoms of childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder. OBJECTIVE: The study aimed to explore the effects of psychological intervention on alleviating anxiety in patients in novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) isolation wards. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Between January 24th, 2020 and March 5th, 2020, 103 patients were studied. Among these, 32 were patients in the isolation ward of the Infectious Disease Department in Baoding Second Hospital with suspected 2019-nCoV, and 71 patients diagnosed with 2019-nCoV were in the Tangshan Infectious Disease Hospital. Of the 103 patients included, 97 cases were observed in isolation. Using a self-control study design, each patient's anxiety was scored on a self-rating anxiety scale before receiving the psychological intervention (on the 7th day of isolation) and after receiving the intervention (on the 14th day of isolation). The severity of anxiety was evaluated based on the anxiety score before receiving the intervention. The anxiety scores before and after receiving the intervention were then compared using the paired t-test, and p<0.05 was considered statistically significant. RESULTS: After receiving the psychological intervention once or twice a week, the anxiety of the patients improved significantly after one week. CONCLUSIONS: The anxiety of patients with 2019-nCoV in isolation wards can be alleviated through psychological intervention. By alleviating patient anxiety, this intervention also helps patients maintain their psychological wellbeing, which promotes rehabilitation and helps with the control of 2019-nCoV. With the development of science and technology, virtual reality and other technologies have gradually developed and popularized, sprouting a series of interdisciplinary, such as evaluation and intervention in the psychological Affective computing. To enhance the realism of virtual situational materials for psychological intervention, this study proposed the application of point cloud 3D generated gameplay virtual scenarios in induced psychological intervention. It utilized the Kneading Net model to construct a point cloud 3D generation deep learning network, and combined style transfer algorithm to construct an emotion induced monomer model. Finally, the complete scene was constructed using the key technology of the positive feedback psychological emotion induced scene production system. The experimental data showed that when the three modules of cube cavity template, geometric feature and dynamic chamfer distance in the Kneading Net model were used meanwhile, the common chamfer distance was 0.0240, which was 0.0003 lower than the original network. This indicated that the simultaneous use of the three modules can achieve optimal network performance and can be applied in scenarios with high accuracy requirements. Evidence-based psychological interventions exist for individuals with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), but many individuals with OCD are unable to access them because of barriers, such as geographical isolation, treatment cost, and stigma etc. Unguided self-help psychological intervention has emerged as a potential solution to this problem. However, there is limited research on its overall effectiveness. This study aimed to address this gap. Comprehensive searches from inception to 1st Jan 2023 were conducted in both international (PubMed, Embase, PsycINFO, International clinical trials registry platform of WHO) and Chinese (China National Knowledge Infrastructure, WeiPu, WanFang, Chinese Clinical Trial Registry) databases. The registered protocol is accessible at https://doi.org/10.17605/OSF.IO/FKB5W. We included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing unguided self-help psychological interventions to control groups for individuals with OCD. The primary outcome was OCD symptom severity, with Hedges' g calculated post-intervention. Heterogeneity was deemed to be low, moderate, and high if the I 2 value was quantified 25%, 50%, and 75% respectively. Relative Risks (RRs) was calculated for dropout rates post-intervention. Random-effects models were used for all analyses. 12 RCTs comparing unguided self-help psychological interventions to control groups were identified, with a total of 20 comparisons and 769 OCD patients. Overall, unguided self-help psychological interventions demonstrated a significant moderate effect on reducing OCD symptom severity (g = −0.42; 95% CI [−0.69; −0.14]) compared to control groups, with a moderate heterogeneity (I 2 = 59%; 95% CI [22.73; 78.38]). This finding remained significant in sensitivity analyses for the self-rated Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS; k = 7, g = −0.46; 95% CI [−0.71; −0.2]) and after removing an outlier (g = −0.37; 95% CI [−0.55; −0.19]), but not for the clinician-rated Y-BOCS (k = 4, g = −0.78; 95% CI [−2.75; 1.19]) and Obsessive Compulsive Inventory-Revised (k = 6, g = −0.26; 95% CI [−0.53; 0]). Subgroup analyses revealed a significant difference in effect size between studies conducting intention-to-treat and completers-only analyses (p =.01). The completers-only analyses demonstrated a moderate significant effect (g = −0.65; 95% CI [−1.08; −0.21]), whereas the effect of the intention-to-treat analyses was not significant (g = −0.18; 95% CI [−0.36; 0]). Participants in the unguided self-help groups exhibited a significantly higher dropout rate (RR = 2.08; 95% CI [1.53; 2.81]) compared to control groups. Furthermore, participants recruited from the community had a higher likelihood of dropping out compared to those recruited from clinical settings (p <.001). Additionally, participants who received cognitive-behavioural therapy intervention were more likely to drop out than those who received other types of intervention (p <.001). Most trials (92%) were rated at a high risk of bias. Unguided self-help psychological interventions demonstrate potential effectiveness in alleviating OCD symptom severity post-intervention. However, caution should be exercised when interpreting the results due to high risk of bias across trials and the relatively small sample size. And the considerable dropout rate might hinder treatment effects. Illness cognition is an important predictor of psychological adjustment among breast cancer patients; however, interventions related to illness cognition remain limited. This study aimed to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of a group-based acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) intervention in improving illness cognition among breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. A quasi-experimental "time-block" design, with two arms and four assessment time points, was used. Eighty-four patients were recruited from a breast cancer center; 42 patients were assigned to the ACT group and 42 to the health education (HE) group. The ACT group participated in four sessions of group-based ACT intervention in a clinical setting, and the HE group underwent one session of group-based HE. Psychological flexibility, illness cognition, and quality of life were assessed at a pre-intervention time point (T1, baseline), a post-intervention time point (T2, 4 weeks), and two follow-up time points (T3, 8 weeks; T4, 16 weeks). The effects of time (p < 0.001) and the interaction of time with group (p < 0.001) on psychological flexibility, illness cognition, and quality of life were significant. The rate of improvement in the ACT group was greater than in the HE group. Significant intervention effects were observed for psychological flexibility, illness cognition, and quality of life at T2, T3, and T4. The intervention was effective in improving psychological flexibility, illness cognition, and quality of life. Objective: To review the current literature on psychosocial and psychological interventions to prevent and treat depression and anxiety in patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD).Methods: The authors conducted a systematic review of literature evaluating psychosocial and psychological interventions for depression and anxiety in patients with AMD. Primary searches of PubMed, Cochrane library, EMBASE, Global Health, Web of Science, EBSCO, and Science Direct were conducted to include all articles published up to April 21, 2018.Results: Of a total of 398 citations retrieved, the authors selected 12 eligible studies published between 2002 and 2016. The authors found nine randomized controlled trials (RCT), and three non-randomized intervention (NRI) studies. RCT studies suggested that interventions using group self-management techniques and individual behavioral activation plus low vision rehabilitation can be effective to treat and prevent depression in patients with AMD, and one study suggested that a stepped-care intervention using cognitive-behavioral techniques can be effective to manage anxiety and depression over time. NRI studies highlighted a positive effect of self-help and emotion-focused interventions to reduce depression.Conclusion: Clinical practice with patients with AMD can rely on some tailored cognitive-behavioral therapeutic protocols to improve patients' mental health, but further clinical trials will generate the necessary evidence-based knowledge to improve those therapeutic techniques and offer additional tailored interventions for patients with AMD. For over 30 y sleep restriction therapy (SRT) has been used to treat insomnia but we know very little about how this therapy exerts its effects. When SRT was first described, it was hypothesised to treat insomnia by addressing four key factors: strengthening homeostatic sleep pressure, inhibiting perpetuating practices (excessive time in bed), attenuating hyperarousal and tightening regulatory control of sleep by the endogenous circadian pacemaker. We conducted a systematic literature review in search of evidence for these putative mechanisms-of-action. A total of 15 randomised and non-randomised studies investigating SRT met inclusion criteria. For each study, we extracted all variables associated with the proposed mechanisms and assessed study quality using a structured appraisal tool. The extracted variables were: time in bed (TIB), napping, variability in sleep, markers of circadian rhythmicity, measurements of sleep pressure/sleepiness, and assessments of arousal. Overall study quality was poor as indicated by a mean quality score of 17 (out of a possible range of 0-31). No study indicated, or indeed was designed to test, whether changes in the proposed mechanisms act as mediators of treatment outcomes. Of all reviewed studies, most reported a reduction in TIB (10/10) and/or revealed a decrease in sleep onset latency (10/14), indexing increased sleep pressure. However, such changes were most often reported at the end of treatment, reflecting an outcome and not a mechanism of SRT per se. Evidence for reduction in arousal (4/4) and night-to-night sleep variability (2/2) was found in only a small number of uncontrolled studies while there was no evidence for change in circadian phase or periodicity (0/1). Our review suggests that SRT targets some of the hypothesised processes but specifically-designed mechanistic evaluations are needed. We introduce a new testable model of SRT mechanism-of-action (Triple-R) and set out a research agenda aimed at stimulating prospective investigations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose of review Psychological distress and mental health comorbidity are common in cancer. Various therapeutic frameworks have been used for interventions to improve psychological wellbeing and quality of life in cancer patients with mixed results. This article reviews contributions to that literature published since January 2017. Recent findings The majority of new psychological intervention research in cancer has used cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) or mindfulness-based interventions. CBT has been considered a gold-standard intervention and recent evidence justifies continuation of this. Recent reviews call into question the validity of evidence for mindfulness-based interventions. A smaller number of trials using acceptance and commitment therapy, meta-cognitive therapy, dignity therapy and coaching have emerged, and whereas findings are promising, additional fully powered trials are required. Weaker evidence exists for counselling, support-based and narrative therapy interventions. Summary Efficacious, timely and acceptable psychological interventions are a necessary component of comprehensive cancer care. There is some way to go before the evidence conclusively points towards which interventions work for which cancer groups and for which specific outcomes. Methodological limitations must be addressed in future trials; at the forefront remains the need for fully powered, head-tohead comparison trials. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
