Abstract

The enantioselective approach to dihydronaphthalenediols (VIIa)‐(VIIb), isoquinolinediol (VIIc), enantiomeric phenolic ether derivative (IX) of natural cis‐6‐deoxy‐4‐hydroxyscytalone, and heterobicyclic conduritol derivative (X) involves the Barrett asymmetric hydroxyallylation method using B‐methoxydiisopinocampheylborane as chiral auxiliary, followed by ring‐closing metathesis (RCM) of the acetonide‐protected diols (V).
