3. Scapholunate interosseous ligament injury in professional volleyball players

Abstract

Injuries to the scapholunate interosseous ligament (SLIL) are the most common cause of carpal instability. A SLIL injury typically follows a fall on an outstretched hand, with the wrist in hyperextension, ulnar deviation and intercarpal supination. We hypothesize that repetitive axial loading on the wrist in hyperextension, during the reception and digging motions of volleyball, can lead to functional overloading of the SLIL.

9. Fattori di rischio e interventi di prevenzione dei disturbi muscoloscheletrici associati all’utilizzo del videoterminale

Abstract

Negli ultimi decenni si è assistito a una crescita esponenziale dell’utilizzo del videoterminale in ambito lavorativo. La letteratura scientifica è concorde nell’affermare che un utilizzo prolungato del videoterminale comporta un incremento del rischio per l’insorgenza di disturbi muscoloscheletrici le cui localizzazioni più frequenti sono: muscoli trapezi, rachide, in particolare a livello lombare, spalle, polsi e mani. Le principali caratteristiche biomeccaniche dell’attività al videoterminale che predispongono all’insorgenza di tali disturbi sono: il mantenimento di posture fisse per un periodo di tempo prolungato, l’assunzione di posture scorrette per errata scelta e/o disposizione degli arredi e lo svolgimento di compiti altamente ripetitivi quali l’utilizzo della tastiera e del mouse. Numerosi studi dimostrano che un intervento di prevenzione multifattoriale, comprendente la correzione ergonomica della postazione di lavoro, l’introduzione sistematica di un programma di pause ed esercizi di stretching dei muscoli sottoposti cronicamente ad accorciamento è in grado di ridurre l’incidenza e la prevalenza dei disturbi muscoloscheletrici.

Abstract

Radial head fractures make up approximately 3% of all fractures and they are the most common elbow fracture in adults. Replacement through arthroplasty is the recommended treatment in the context of unstable elbow injury and comminuted radial head fracture. The midterm clinical, functional, and radiographic results in patients treated with anatomic radial head arthroplasty for a Mason type III radial head fracture are presented.
