This study aimed to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis on accessory mental foramen (AMF) research using cone-beam computed tomographic (CBCT) imaging. A systematic review was performed in PubMed, Embase, Thomas Reuter's Web of Science, Scopus, and ScienceDirect databases according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis statement. Articles focusing on AMF prevalence and location using CBCT imaging were selected without language restrictions. Studies reporting pooled results only or presenting any pathology in the area surrounding the mental foramen (MF) were excluded. A meta-analysis using random effects was performed. The present meta-analysis included a total of 46 articles involving 21,761 subjects. The overall pooled AMF prevalence was 7.87% (95% confidence interval [CI], 6.69–9.24) in subjects and 4.75% (95% CI, 3.79–5.95) in hemimandibles (n = 31,158). AMF presence was most commonly unilateral, reaching 90.15% (95% CI, 82.98–94.49). AMFs were significantly more frequent in right hemimandibles (χ2 = 5.20, P <.05) and were most commonly located posterior and inferior to the MF. However, AMFs superior to the MF were also observed in 47.43% (95% CI, 38.45-56.58) of cases. The studies conducted over the last 3 years showed significantly higher AMF prevalence levels (χ2 = 5.12, P <.05). Our meta-analysis demonstrates that AMF prevalence is considerable and should not be underestimated. AMFs are most frequently located in right hemimandibles. The presence of AMFs superior to the MF is frequent. Around 3% of people present superior AMFs. This fact puts those patients at greater risk for injury when performing periapical surgery in this area. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

En este informe se muestra información sobre 176 especies que se reparten por toda la geografía nacional. Entre ellas, se incluyen 23 especies que aparecen de forma escasa y principalmente durante el invierno para las que se muestra su distribución espacio-temporal para el periodo 2019/2020 mediante mapas y gráficas (véase De Juana y Garcia, 2015; Gil-Velasco et al., 2018; Rouco et al., 2018; Molina et al., 2019a y b y 2020). Para contabilizar el número de citas para cada especie escasa se revisaron las observaciones disponibles en diferentes plataforma de recogidas de datos, especialmente en eBird (eBird, 2020; Observado, 2020; Reservoir Birds, 2020 y Ornitho, 2020), descartando aquellas que aparentemente correspondieran a las mismas citas hechas por diferentes observadores con el objeto de contar con muestras de datos lo suficientemente homogéneas. Se sigue la secuencia taxonómica de acuerdo con la nueva lista patrón de las Aves de España (Rouco et al., 2019). En este informe se muestra información sobre 149 especies que se reparten por toda la geografía nacional. Entre ellas, se incluyen 28 especies que aparecen de forma escasa para las que se muestra su distribución espacio-temporal en 2019 mediante mapas y gráficas (véase De Juana y Garcia, 2015; Gil-Velasco et al., 2018; Rouco et al., 2018). Many other migrant species were observed on the islands more frequently and in higher numbers than usual during this event and the most important observations of these are summarised in this report. Entre ellas, se incluyen 20 especies que aparecen de forma escasa para las que se muestra su distribución espacio-temporal mediante mapas y gráficas (De Juana y Garcia, 2015; Gil-Velasco et al., 2018; Rouco et al., 2018). Para dar un tratamiento más acorde con su patrón natural de presencia preferentemente invernal se expone la información de estas 20 especies para el periodo julio 2018-junio 2019. Debe tenerse en cuenta que en el Noticiario de Ardeola 66 (2) ya se consideraron los seis últimos meses de 2018, de modo que podría haber alguna información repetida en el presente informe (véanse Molina et al., 2017, 2018 y 2019a y 2019b). History matched models have helped reservoir engineers obtain a better understanding of the reservoir and optimize the future productions. Recent years, seismic data is more often to be integrated to improve the reservoir models, however, seismic data has to be inverted to seismic impedance values first. In this study, we introduce a new way to improve the initial reservoir models -integrating the seismic first arrival times to estimate the fluid contacts and initial water saturation. The key aspect of this method that distinguishes it from other methods is that seismic data is integrated directly. As a result, traditional seismic inversion step is not needed, and the data integration are through the comparison of observed first arrival times and simulated first arrival times (raytracing results). In our paper, the feasibility of using seismic first arrival times to improve initial reservoir models is discussed, and the method is verified by using sand tank experiment data. The observed seismic first arrival times were collected during the experiment, and the simulated first arrival times were calculated by seismic raytracing program. Trust region method was used to adjust water-air contact depth and initial water saturation to minimize the difference between simulated and observed data. At last, a good estimation of initial condition is achieved, and it demonstrates a potential of integrating seismic data to improve the reservoir models without an inversion step. Background There is no unified system for reporting surgical complications after bariatric surgery. One increasingly used system for notifying postoperative complications is the Clavien-Dindo classification, which focuses on their therapeutic implications. Objective The aim of this study is to validate and apply the Clavien-Dindo scale to a series of cases of bariatric surgery and systematically review its use worldwide. Setting University hospital. Methods A cohort of 321 patients with morbid obesity (Mean BMI: 45.4±5.5 kg/m 2 ) underwent surgery by the same team of surgeons, fundamentally using a laparoscopic gastric bypass. Initially, the Clavien-Dindo scale was translated and validated for its acceptability and reproducibility using the Kappa index. The scale was then applied to the whole of the bariatric series. A systematic review was also conducted in the literature regarding the use of the Clavien-Dindo classification after bariatric surgery. Lastly, a comparison was made with our results. Results The classification was validated without any difficulty. Most of the postoperative complications are grades I (8.4%) and III (7.8%). We found it used in 15 series (including our own), which accounts for 10,347 patients. The overall results are analogous to our series. Conclusions The Clavien-Dindo scale has been validated and translated into Spanish. Application is quick and simple and enables comparisons to be made between centers and series. Soil density, porosity, elastic moduli, and the soil-water characteristic curve (SWCC) are important properties for soil characterization. However, geotechnical and laboratory tests for soil properties are costly and limited to point sampling sites. Seismic surveys can provide laterally continuous, seismic soil property values that may complement geotechnical borehole tests with less cost. We have developed a workflow to invert for soil properties and the SWCC from seismic P- and S-wave velocity-versus-depth profiles interpreted from shallow (<25 m depth) unconsolidated sediments under conditions of near-full saturation (>99%). The inversion is performed by using the covariance matrix adaptation evolution strategy to search automatically for optimal input soil property values by minimizing the misfit between field-based velocity profiles and predicted velocity profiles based on the Hertz-Mindlin and Biot-Gassmann theories. The results from seismic soil property inversion are validated by comparison with geotechnical as well as laboratory results conducted independently in the same area as the seismic survey. For each seismically recognizable layer, soil types are interpreted from the inverted soil density and elasticity, aided by the SWCC to help detect thin units that are below the original seismic resolution of the field data. There is flexibility to apply our suggested workflow in future studies. For a known geologic setting, empirical relationships and other velocity prediction models could also be incorporated into the suggested workflow to improve inversion results and extract additional information in soils. Silvoarable is a type of agroforestry practice where a woody component is deliberately integrated with an arable crop as part of the understory. Silvoarable practices are generally associated with the delivery of more ecosystem services than monocultures in agricultural lands. Therefore, it is necessary to develop policies to foster silvoarable practices in the most climate-vulnerable areas such as the Mediterranean areas of Europe. This paper aims at analyzing the extent of silvoarable practices as well as the deployment and implementation of policies carried out in 27 Rural Development Programmes (Pillar II) within the framework of the Common Agricultural Policy 2014–2020, in the Mediterranean areas of Europe, to understand how silvoarable practices are promoted and provide insights to the Mediterranean Member States to develop better policies for agroforestry adoption in Europe within the future Common Agricultural Policy 2021–2027 where payments will be based on results. The silvoarable agroforestry practices deliver enormous ecosystem services in the Mediterranean areas of Europe despite the reduced current extent that this sustainable land use system has. Silvoarable practices should be promoted by the Common Agricultural Policy considering the enhancement of the extension services activities but also the development of adequate supply and value chains within the bioeconomy strategy to fulfil the green deal strategy promoted by the European Commission. • Silvoarable practices are especially relevant in the Iberian Peninsula dehesa areas. • Twenty-two RDP are promoting silvoarable practices in Mediterranean Europe. • Permanent crops are more linked to annual crops than ungrazed temporary grasslands. • Silvoarable crops are mostly Lucerne, flowers and vegetables. • Silvoarable practices are mainly carried out under olive trees and oak. The article presents a study regarding rare birds in Spain on 2006. The study has recorded new species of birds in addition to the Spanish list, including the birds found in Tenerife Island called green heron Butorides virescens and the exhausted birds Crecopsis egregia and wood duck Aix sponsa. The presence of pectoral sandpiper Calidris melanotos and lesser flamingo Phoenicopterus minor were also noted. Thus, little swift Apus affinis were found to breed in the south of mainland Spain and rarely followed the winter presence of pallid harrier Circus macrourus, citrine wagtail Motacilla citreola and red-breasted flycatcher Ficedula parva.
