- Abstract
The article discusses the history of the Guthrie County High School in Guthrie County, Iowa. The author discusses how education policies from other regions influenced educational structures in Iowa notes legislation passed by the Iowa General Assembly for the creation of county high schools. The school was originally to be built in Panora, Iowa following a dispute over the location of the county government. The creation of a teachers' course for the school curriculum and the construction of the school building are discussed. The appointment of principals such as Richard D. Jones and F.C. Wildes and increases in student enrollment are noted
