Effect of inorganic fillers, cement powder, Na-bentonite, flay ash, on curing kinetics of bisphenol-A epoxy resin and polyamide (BAE/PA) system was investigated under iso-thermal curing condition using the differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). Meanwhile, their thixotropic properties were measured using a rheometer at 25 °C. The relation between curing kinetics and thixotropic properties was discussed. It is found that when BAE/PA system is cured under 50–100 °C, the overall reaction order (m + n) decreases with increasing temperature from 2.63 to 1.83. The whole curing reaction process can be described by the Kamal model at temperatures above 90 °C. When cured below 80 °C, the curing process changed from chemical-controlled reaction into diffusion-controlled reaction at the critical curing degree (αc). αcdecreases with the decrease of curing temperature. When filled by different kinds of fillers, curing kinetics at 90 °C and thixotropic properties of the systems at 25 °C were studied. It is found that compared with fly ash and cement powder, the system with Na-bentonite has the largest thixotropic hysteresis hoop area and changes into diffusion control reaction at lower curing degree. Decreasing particle size and increasing mass fraction of Na-bentonite increased the thixotropic properties of the filled system and consequently improved the overall reaction order. It means that high surface activity and thickening effect of Na-bentonite make the epoxy-amine system shows a stronger autocatalytic effect.

Adenosine triphosphate–binding cassette subfamily G member 1 (ABCG1) has the function of transporting free intracellular cholesterol to extracellular high-density lipoprotein (HDL) particles, which play a crucial role in atherosclerosis. The goal of this study is to examine the relationship between the polymorphisms of the ABCG1gene promoter region and ischemic stroke.

Most of the chemical hydrogels are stretchable, and deformed hydrogels may be recovered when the strain is removed. Such a hydrogel with viscoelastic property cannot be remolded under mild conditions. Here, we demonstrated that a combination of dual reversible cross-linking with different relaxation time scales could be used to develop a remoldable hydrogel responding to mild external stress. We fabricated the hydrogel with the surface-primary amine-rich silica nanodots (ca. 2.0 nm) and benzaldehyde-terminated poly(ethylene oxide)–poly(propylene oxide) (PPO)–poly(ethylene oxide) triblock copolymers (BAF127) at low temperature (<10 °C) to form the chemical cross-linking by Schiff-base bonding. Increasing temperature (>15 °C) induced the formation of physical cross-linking between the hydrophobic PPO segments. The latter network is weak and shows fast relaxation, whereas the former shows slow relaxation. The unique structural characteristics provides this hydrogel high stretchability and self-healability, as well as moldability. In particular, we demonstrated that this transparent hydrogel can keep the fine three-dimensional patterns of a fingerprint, which may be applied for collecting digital information of fingerprints for identification.

It will be a new approach that BIM’s capital project lifecycle management (CPLM) applied to the yacht industry. This paper explored the feasibility of applying the principles and rationales of BIM for capital project lifecycle management in luxury yacht design, engineering, fabrication, construction and operation. The paper examined the premises and backbone technology of BIM. It then evaluated leading naval engineering and shipbuilding software applications and their development trends from the functional lens of BIM. To systematically investigate a BIM-based approach for capital project lifecycle management (CPLM) in the luxury yacht industry, the paper proposed and outlined an implementation framework. A case study and a student competition use case were discussed to delineate the core constituents and processes of the proposed framework. The case of BIM was reviewed. Through the domestic custom luxury yacht design and prototyping student competition, the application of this framework in educational research is demonstrated and the initial quantitative assessment of the framework is carried out. Conclusions: a BIM-based CPLM implementation framework can help the luxury yacht industry capitalize on the global transformation to an information-centric and data-driven new business paradigm in shipbuilding with integrated design, manufacturing and production.

We compared the discriminative validity, agreement and sensitivity of EQ-5D-5L and SF-6D utility scores in people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHIV). We conducted a cross-sectional survey among PLWHIV aged more than 18 years old in 9 municipalities in Yunnan Province, China. A convenience sample was enrolled. We administered the SF-12 and EQ-5D-5L to measure health-related quality of life. The utility index of the SF-6D was derived from the SF-12. We calculate correlation coefficients to evaluate the relationship and agreement of 2 instruments. To evaluate the homogeneity of the EQ-5D-5L and SF-6D, intraclass correlation coefficients, scatter plots, and Bland–Altman plots were computed and drawn. We also used receiver operating characteristic curves to compare the discriminative properties and sensitivity of the econometric index. A total of 1797 respondents, with a mean age of 45.6 ± 11.7 years, was interviewed. The distribution of EQ-5D-5L scores skewed towards full health with a skewness of −3.316. The overall correlation between EQ-5D-5L and SF-6D index scores was 0.46 (P < .001). The association of the 2 scales appeared stronger at the upper end. An intraclass correlation coefficient of 0.59 between the EQ-5D-5L and SF-6D meant a moderate correlation and indicated general agreement. The Bland–Altman plot displayed the same results as the scatter plot. The receiver operating characteristic curve showed that the AUC for the SF-6D was 0.776 (95% CI: 0.757, 0.796) and that for the EQ-5D-5L was 0.732 (95% CI: 0.712, 0.752) by the PCS-12, and it was 0.782 (95% CI: 0.763, 0.802) for the SF-6D and 0.690 (95% CI: 0.669, 0.711) for the EQ-5D-5L by the MCS-12. Our study demonstrated evidence of the performance of EQ-5D-5L and SF-6D index scores to measure health utility in people living with HIV/AIDS. There were significant differences in their performance. We preferred to apply the SF-6D to measure the health utility of PLWHIV during the combined antiretroviral therapy period. Our study has demonstrated evidence for instrument choice and preference measurements in PLWHIV under combined antiretroviral therapy.
