CO2is an attractive renewable C1 feedstock owing to its abundance, low cost, and nontoxicity. Developing new catalytic protocols for CO2utilization is of great importance. With the development of photoredox catalysis over the past decades, light‐driven CO2fixation has attracted significant attention. This Review will focus on recent development of light‐promoted carboxylation utilizing CO2as a C1 source to synthesize value‐added chemicals in the area of organic synthesis. Hungry for CO2: Recent development on carboxylation of C‐halogen and C−H bonds, alkenes, and alkynes using CO2as the C1 feedstock for fine chemical synthesis under light‐promoted conditions has been summarized.
