Developing catalysts with excellent CO2capture capability and electrochemical CO2reduction reaction (CO2RR) at a wide potential range simultaneously is significant but remains a formidable challenge. Here, two novel InMg defective trinuclear cluster-based MOFs (SNNU-41 and SNNU-42) with abundant p-block unsaturated coordinated sites were reported and exhibited good CO2capture and CO2RR performance simultaneously. Due to the suitable micropores, SNNU-41 showed higher CO2capture ability at different adsorption pressure conditions. On account of the rigid framework and the closer pband center to Fermi level, SNNU-42 accelerated the conversion of CO2molecule to C1 efficiency. Notably, via adjusting the ratio of p-block metal (In) in the SNNU-42 framework, the performance of the CO2RR was promoted drastically. SNNU-42 with the InMg (1:1.8) mixed cluster delivered an excellent Faradaic efficiency of 91.3% for C1 products and high selectivity of 72.0% for HCOOH at −2.5 V (vs Ag/Ag+) with a total current density of 77.2 mA cm–2. This work provides a possibility for efficient CO2capture and CO2RR electrocatalysts through the modulation of electronic structures and composition in MOFs.

In this article, we propose a crowdsourced bicycle monitoring and finding (CBMF) framework with riding user recognition for rider safety and bike security based on Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. According to our review of relevant research, CBMF is the first framework that provides the following features: 1) it can use the inertial data to determine the normal/dangerous state of the bicycle; 2) it can recognize whether the rider is the owner based on the inertial data of cycling; and 3) if the bicycle equipped with the IoT device is stolen/missing, the current locations of the stolen bicycle can be reported by surrounding smartphones that receive the iBeacon signals with an abnormal bit proactively broadcasted by the equipped IoT device. In particular, the densely connected convolutional network is explored in CBMF to extract diverse features of riding for improving rider recognition accuracy. An Android-based prototype with the Jetson Nano developing board is implemented to verify the feasibility and superiority of our framework. Experimental results show that our developed deep learning model outperforms the existing methods and can accurately recognize the riding user (with over 90% accuracy). Moreover, the crowdsourced sensing approach can precisely locate the position of the bicycle (reducing about 50% of positioning errors), which increases the possibility of getting back the stolen/missing bicycle.

Purpose This study aimed to evaluate the impact of intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide (TA) administration after peeling of idiopathic epiretinal membranes (iERM) on both anatomical and visual outcomes, utilizing the ectopic inner foveal layer (EIFL) staging scheme.Methods In this retrospective case-control study, we analyzed 43 eyes from 43 patients diagnosed with iERM between June 2019 and December 2021. All participants were categorized into the TA or control groups based on administering intravitreal TA injection following ERM peeling. We thoroughly reviewed the clinical data, including the preoperative and postoperative best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), central foveal thickness (CFT), and macular cube volume (VOL), with ERM stages classified according to the EIFL staging scheme.Results The study enrolled 22 eyes in the TA and 21 in the control groups. Following a mean follow-up period of 11.07 ± 2.02 months, noteworthy improvements in EIFL stages were observed in both cohorts (p< 0.01), but without significant distinctions between groups. In the TA group, 63.64% of eyes demonstrated improvements in EIFL stages, while the control group exhibited 76.19% (p= 0.37). At the final visit, both groups experienced a noteworthy reduction in the postoperative CFT and VOL (p< 0.05), coupled with significant improvement in BCVA (p< 0.01). No substantial differences appeared between the two groups concerning BCVA, CFT, and VOL (all p> 0.05).Conclusions Our study suggested that concurrent intravitreal TA injection following ERM removal did not provide additional benefits regarding anatomical and visual improvement in iERM cases classified as Stages 2 and 3.

A typical 1D slab periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) crystal with a fixed auxiliary reciprocal lattice vector (RLV) normally achieves only a single-wavelength second harmonic generation (SHG) under the quasi-phase-matching (QPM) technique. Here, we propose a 1D slab PPLN crystal as a research sample to vary incident angles of a high peak power ultrashort femtosecond pump laser to drive the crystal, and theoretically predict and experimentally demonstrate efficient SHG over a substantial spectral tuning range. The fundamental wave (FW) tuning is accomplished from 800 to 814 nm within a tunable incident range of 0°–50° in a 4 mm long crystal with a tuning range of peak wavelength as wide as 14 nm and a tuning rate of 0.28 nm/°, producing SHG pulses with an average conversion efficiency of 14.36%. Compared with conventional temperature, period, and electric field tuning methods, our scheme is simple, rapid, stable, ensures maximum QPM gain, and has relatively considerable spectral range tuning performance. This scheme broadens the avenue for tunable frequency conversion of 1D slab PPLN crystals via the QPM mechanism, is also expected to be applied to higher integration of lithium niobate on insulators and brings better techniques and tools for tunable nanosecond, picosecond, and femtosecond laser devices.

Photocatalytic CO2 reduction to solar fuel is a potential way to overcome the problem of high carbon dioxide concentrations; however, the process still faces enormous challenges, such as the low light absorption efficiency and high carrier recombination rates. This work synthesized tetraphenylporphyrin-based carbon dots (TPP-CDs) for the photocatalytic CO2 reduction to CH3OH under simulated sunlight to extend the absorption region of the CDs. The conduction band of the TPP-CDs has a sufficiently negative reduction potential to reduce CO2. TPP-CDs containing 1 wt.% TPP achieved an optimum CH3OH production rate of 173.35 μmol·gcat-1·h-1, with a remarkable 2.06-fold increase compared to pristine CDs without TPP. In this study, TPP-CDs were synthesized by changing the CD precursors to improve the utilization of visible light and apply them to the photocatalytic reduction of CO2.

As an important wave energy converter (WEC), the double-buoy device has advantages of wider energy absorption band and deeper water adaptability, which attract an increasing number of attentions from researchers. This paper makes an in-depth study on double-buoy WEC, by means of the combination of model experiment and numerical simulation. The Response Amplitude Operator (RAO) and energy capture of the double-buoy under constant power take-off (PTO) damping are investigated in the model test, while the average power output and capture width ratio (CWR) are calculated by the numerical simulation to analyze the influence of the wave condition, PTO, and the geometry parameters of the device. The AQWA-Fortran united simulation system, including the secondary development of AQWA software coupled with the flowchart of the Fortran code, models a new dynamic system. Various viscous damping and hydraulic friction from WEC system are measured from the experimental results, and these values are added to the equation of motion. As a result, the energy loss is contained in the final numerical model the by united simulation system. Using the developed numerical model, the optimal period of energy capture is identified. The power capture reaches the maximum value under the outer buoy’s natural period. The paper gives the peak value of the energy capture under the linear PTO damping force, and calculates the optimal mass ratio of the device.

Lithium-oxygen batteries have attracted widespread attention owing to their superior theoretical energy density. However, they are obstructed by sluggish oxygen reduction (ORR) and evolution reaction (OER) kinetics at air cathodes. Herein, different from using single solid or soluble catalysts, solid-soluble synergistic catalysis is proposed to conjointly enhance ORR/OER performances. During discharge, single-atomic zinc/cobalt embedded in nitrogen-doped carbon (Zn, Co-N/C) is judiciously engineered as a solid catalyst to regulate the growth pathway of Li2O2and promote ORR kinetics. During charge, a typical redox mediator (RM, LiI) is added as a soluble catalyst to permit efficient oxidation of Li2O2. Of note is that the atomic Zn/Co-Nxsites can chemically adsorb oxidized iodine (I2) and accelerate OER kinetics, which plays a decisive role in eliminating the shuttle effect of I3–/I2to the Li anode. Coupling a single-atomic catalyst with restricted oxidized iodine offers an exceptional discharge capacity, remarkably low polarization, and superior long-term cycling stability.

Lane change and crash risk prediction are critical technologies for autonomous driving. An attention-based LSTM model is proposed in this paper for lane change behavior prediction in highways, considering both the surrounding vehicles’ information around the target vehicle at the current time and the historical trajectory data of the vehicle, and it shows higher accuracy and better interpretability than other models. There are two sections in this prediction model, including a pre-judgment model based on the C4.5 decision tree and bagging ensemble learning, and a multi-step lane change prediction model of LSTM with attention mechanism. In addition, the model is applied in the NGSIM datasets to test practicability and accuracy, and the precision of left lane change and right lane change is 98% and 94% respectively 1 second before the vehicle changes lane. Finally, to judge the safety of vehicles in the driving process, a crash risk prediction model based on Time-To-Collision is proposed, which further verifies the effectiveness of the method.

Here we use a pseudoallyl ligand, N,N′-chelating amidinate (Am), together with pentamethylcyclopentadienyl (Cp*) to give two dysprosium(III) single-molecule magnets (SMMs): [{(AmiPr)DyCp*(μ-Cl)}2] and [AmdippDyCp*(Cl)(μ-Cl)Li(THF)3] with distinct energy barriers (Ueff) of 97 and 472 K, respectively. The latter Ueffvalue is similar to the homoleptic Cp*-based Dy-SMM.

Acne scars are caused by inflammatory reactions, infections, and improper handling of acne lesions. Such scars have a high incidence and are difficult to treat. There are many methods currently used to treat acne scars, including medications, photoelectric technology, surgery, filling, chemical peeling, traditional Chinese medicine, biotherapy, and microneedle therapy, and many new methods are constantly emerging. However, there are still many issues, such as the lack of high-quality clinical studies, non-uniform treatment methods, and unsatisfactory therapeutic effects. The selection of appropriate methods for the comprehensive treatment of different types of acne scars at different stages in clinical practice remains challenging and is a research topic of great interest. From the perspective of evidence-based medicine, this consensus aims to provide a reference for the treatment of acne scars in clinical practice.

We established a fluorescence “turn-on” sensing platform for glutathione (GSH) detection utilizing chitosan-based glutaraldehyde non-conjugated polymers (GCPF) as nanomaterials via fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) principle. Owing to the overlapping property of absorption spectrum of MnO2nanosheets with fluorescence spectrum of GCPF, fluorescent intensity of GCPF was quenched in the presence of MnO2nanosheets because of FRET principle. When GSH was added, MnO2nanosheets were reduced and decomposed into large amounts of Mn2+ions owing to reducing property of GSH. Accordingly, the quenched fluorescent intensity was turned on again. Therefore, this platform based on MnO2nanosheet has been first applied to fluorescence “turn-on” detection of GSH from 0.5 to 50 μmol/L with sdetection limit of 84 nmol/L. It showed high selectivity in GSH detection towards other ions and biomolecules such as L-lysine, L-threonine, L-valine, L-glutamic acid and DL-aspartic acid. When it was utilized in detecting GSH in serum samples, satisfactory recoveries ranged from 101.5% to 103.2%, indicating the accuracy of this fluorescence “turn-on” platform in bioanalysis.

High storage capacity, high separation selectivity, and high structure stability are essential for an idea gas adsorbent. However, it is not easy to achieve all three at the same time, even for the promising metal–organic framework (MOF) adsorbents. We demonstrate herein that robust [Sc3O]-organic frameworks could be regulated by a micropore combination strategy for high-performance acetylene adsorption. Under the same solvent system with formic acid as a modulator, similar tritopic ligands extend [Sc3O(COO)6] trigonal-prismatic clusters to generate SNNU-5-Sc and SNNU-150-Sc adsorbents. Notably, the two Sc-MOFs can keep their architectures over 24 h in water at different pH values (2–12) or at 90 °C. Modulated by the linker symmetry, the final stacking metal–organic polyhedral cages produce open window sizes of about 10 Å for SNNU-5-Sc and 5 Å + 7 Å for SNNU-150-Sc. Due to such micropore combinations, SNNU-5-Sc exhibits a top-level C2H2uptake of 211.2 cm3g–1(1 atm and 273 K) and SNNU-150-Sc shows high C2H2/CH4, C2H2/C2H4, and C2H2/CO2selectivities of 80.65, 4.03, and 8.19, respectively, under ambient conditions. Dynamic breakthrough curves obtained on a fixed-bed column and grand canonical Monte Carlo (GCMC) simulations further support their prominent acetylene storage and purification performance. High framework stability, storage capacity, and separation selectivity make SNNU-5-Sc and SNNU-150-Sc ideal acetylene adsorbents in practical applications.

Acetylene (C2H2) purification is of great importance for many chemical synthesis and processes. Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are widely used for gas adsorption and separation due to their variable structure and porosity. However, the exploitation of ideal MOF adsorbents for C2H2keeps a challenging task. Herein, a combination of open metal sites (OMSs) and Lewis basic sites (LBSs) in robust MOFs is demonstrated to effectively promote the C2H2purification performance. Accordingly, SNNU-37(Fe/Sc), two isostructural MOFs constituted by [Fe3O(COO)6] or [Sc3O(COO)6] trinuclear clusters and amide-functionalized tricarboxylate linkers, were designed with extra-stable 3,6-connected new architectures. Derived from the coexistence of high-density OMSs and LBSs, the C2H2adsorption amounts of SNNU-37(Fe/Sc) are much higher than those values for C2H4and CO2. Theoretical IAST selectivity values of SNNU-37(Fe) are 2.4 for C2H2/C2H4(50/50, v/v) and 9.9 for C2H2/CO2(50/50, v/v) at 298 K and 1 bar, indicating an excellent C2H2separation ability. Experimental breakthrough curves also revealed that SNNU-37(Fe) could effectively separate C2H2/C2H4and C2H2/CO2under ambient conditions. GCMC simulations further indicate that open Fe or Sc sites and amide groups mainly contribute to stronger adsorption sites for C2H2molecules.

In recent years, the conversion of biomass-derived platform compounds into a variety of high value fuel and chemical products has attracted increasing attention from researchers. 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) and furfural (FFR) belong to a class of important biomass-derived platform chemicals. The molecular structure of HMF and FFR is consisted of aldehyde group, furan ring and other functional groups, which endow them with unique chemical properties. In this paper, the research advances on the catalytic hydrogenation of HMF and FFR using various hydrogen sources, such as hydrogen, alcohol, silanes and formic acid, have been reviewed in detail. In addition, the main influencing factors like catalyst type and reaction conditions on the hydrogenation process as well as the reaction mechanism are discussed in depth. Meanwhile, research foreground in the catalytic hydrogenation of HMF/FFR has been prospected.

The nitrate electroreduction reaction (NO3–-ERR) is an efficient and green approach for nitrate remediation, which requires a highly active and selective electrocatalyst. In this work, porous and amorphous cobalt phosphide nanoshuttles (CoP PANSs) are successfully synthesized by using Mg2+ion-doped calcium carbonate nanoshuttles (Mg-CaCO3NSs) as the initial reaction precursor via precipitation transformation and a high-temperature phosphidation strategy. Various physical characterizations show that CoP PANSs have porous architecture, amorphous crystal structure, and big surface area. Electrochemical measurements reveal for the first time that CoP PANSs have outstanding electroactivity for NO3–-ERR in a neutral electrolyte. At an applied potential of −0.5 V vs reversible hydrogen electrode, CoP PANSs can achieve a high Faraday efficiency (94.24 ± 2.8%) and high yield rate (19.28 ± 0.53 mg h–1mgcat–1) for ammonia production, which exceeds most reported values at various electrocatalysts for NO3–-ERR. Thus, the present result indicates that cobalt phosphide nanomaterials have promising application for NO3–-ERR.

The phase separation phenomena or cloud points (CP) behavior of nonionic octylphenol polyoxyethylene ether with oxyethylene glycol ether unit of 15 (OP-15) were investigated in aqueous micellar solutions containing high concentrations of inorganic salts including NaCl, KCl, MgCl 2 , CaCl 2 , BaCl 2 , AlCl 3 , FeCl 3 , Na 2 SO 4 and Na 2 SiO 3. The change in CP induced by salts and its mechanism are discussed theoretically. In aqueous solutions containing high concentration of salt, for the first time the linear relationship between CP and salt concentration is well established to characterize the depression of CP. Based on pseudo phase separation model, thermodynamic parameters are estimated and adopted to further describe the phase separation process and the interactions between OP-15 molecules or the OP-15/water interactions. Thermodynamic parameters including standard Gibbs energy change (Δ G C P 0), enthalpy change (Δ H C P 0) and entropy change (Δ S C P 0) indicate that the additions of different salts result in the change in entropy-driven nonspontaneous process of phase separation. These data, which are from the compensation temperatures and the change of molar heat capacity, also prove that different ions induce the change in the interactions between surfactant molecules or the surfactant–water interaction and thus affect the depression of CP. These findings help with understanding the effect of inorganic salts, especially the high concentration of salt, on CP of nonionic surfactant and then broadening the application of nonionic surfactant based on CP such as the extraction of biomaterials in biological samples derived from animals or plants, etc. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The double-body heave wave energy converter (WEC) is one of the most conducive devices to absorb the wave energy from relative motion while the law of which is not well understood. This paper makes an in-depth study on this wave energy converter, by means of the combination of theoretical analysis and physical model experiment. The hydrodynamic characteristics and energy capture of the double-buoy under constant and linear Power Take-Off (PTO) damping are investigated. Influences of absolute mass and mass ratio are discussed in the theoretical model. Relative displacement amplitude and average power output are tested in the experiment to analyze the effect of the wave period and outer buoy’s mass, while the capture width ratio (CWR) is also calculated. Results show that the wave period and mass of the buoys have a significant effect on the converter. Different forms of PTO damping have no influence on the optimal wave period and mass ratio of this device. It is recommended to select the double-buoy converter with a mass ratio of 0.80 and to place it in an area with the frequent wave period close to the natural period of the outer buoy to achieve the optimal energy capture.

Lithium anode protection is an effective strategy to prohibit the continuous loss of redox mediators (RMs) resulting from the unfavorable “shuttle effect” in lithium–oxygen batteries. In this work, an in situ Li anode protection method is designed by utilizing an organic compound, 1-Boc-3-iodoazetidine (BIA), as both a RM and an additive, to form a lithium anode protective layer. The reaction between Li metal and BIA can form lithium iodide (LiI) and lithium-based organometallic. LiI can effectively reduce the charging overpotential. Meanwhile, the in situ-formed anode protection layer (lithium-based organometallic) can not only effectively prevent RMs from being reduced by the lithium metal, but also inhibit the growth of lithium dendrites. As a result, the lithium–oxygen battery with BIA shows a long cycle life of 260 cycles with a notably reduced charging potential. In particular, the battery with BIA achieves an excellent lifespan of 160 cycles at a large current density of 2000 mA g–1.

Metal-azolate-carboxylate frameworks have great potential for gas adsorption applications because azole ligands with a small size easily construct small pore MOFs with bare −N(H) donor sites. However, most of the currently reported metal-azolate-carboxylate frameworks were constructed by individual triazole or tetrazole and carboxylic acid; there are still few MOFs based on polytetrazole ligands. Herein, two novel mixed-linker Cd-tetrazolate-carboxylate frameworks, [Cd4(BDC)3(HBTT)(H2O)2]n(SNNU-17, BDC = 1,4-terephthalic acid, H3BTT = 1,3,5-tris(2H-tetrazol-5-yl)benzene) and {[Cd2(HDC)(HBTT)(H2O)]}n(SNNU-18) (BDC = 1,4-terephthalic acid and HDC = trans-1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid), have been synthesized. Because BDC is a rigid ligand, whereas HDC is flexible, the resulting two MOFs have completely different structures, and their percentage of uncoordinated N-donor sites increased from 33% to 50% for SNNU-17 and SNNU-18. It is worth noting that, although SNNU-18 has almost no N2adsorption at 77 K, the adsorption capacity of CO2and C1/C2 hydrocarbons at 298 K is capable with SNNU-17 which illustrated the potential application of a flexible MOF in gas adsorption and separation. In addition, because the pore size for SNNU-17 is 6.0 × 6.0 Å, smaller than that for SNNU-18 (11.0 × 11.0 Å), the breakthrough curves indicated that SNNU-17 has good C2H2/CO2and C2 hydrocarbon or CO2over CH4dynamic separation performance. The promising gas separation performance was further supported by the GCMC simulations.

The oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is a half-reaction of water electrolysis, and the OER performance of an electrocatalyst is significantly related to its energy conversion efficiency. Due to their high OER activity, transition metal-based nanomaterials have become potential low-cost substitutes for Ir/Ru-based OER electrocatalysts in an alkaline environment. Herein, holey Fe3O4-coupled Ni(OH)2sheets (Ni(OH)2-Fe H-STs) were easily achieved by a simple mixed-cyanogel hydrolysis strategy. The two-dimensional (2D) Ni(OH)2-Fe H-STs with ca. 1 nm thickness have a high specific surface area, abundant unsaturated coordination atoms, and numerous pores, which are highly favorable for electrocatalytic reactions. Meanwhile, the introduction of Fe improves the conductivity and regulates the electronic structure of Ni. Due to their special structural features and synergistic effect between the Fe and Ni atoms, Ni(OH)2-Fe H-STs with an optimal Ni/Fe ratio show excellent OER activity in a 1 M KOH solution, which significantly exceeds that of the commercial RuO2nanoparticle electrocatalyst. Furthermore, Ni(OH)2-Fe H-STs can be grown on nickel foam (NF), and the resulting material exhibits enhanced OER activity, such as a small overpotential of 200 mV and a small Tafel slope of 56 mV dec−1, than that of Ni(OH)2-Fe H-STs without NF.

The sluggish reaction kinetics of the anodic oxygen evolution reaction increases the energy consumption of the overall water electrolysis for high-purity hydrogen generation. In this work, ultrathin cobalt sulfide nanosheets (Co3S4-NSs) on nickel foam (Ni-F) nanohybrids (termed as Co3S4-NSs/Ni-F) are synthesized using cyanogel hydrolysis and a sulfurization two-step approach. Physical characterizations reveal that Co3S4-NSs with a 1.7 nm thickness have abundant holes, implying the big surface area, abundant active edge atoms, and sufficient active sites. Electrochemical measurements show that as-synthesized Co3S4-NSs/Ni-F have excellent electrocatalytic activity and selectivity for ethanol oxidation reaction and hydrogen evolution reaction. Due to their bifunctional property of Co3S4-NSs/Ni-F nanohybrids, a symmetric Co3S4-NSs/Ni-F∥Co3S4-NSs/Ni-F ethanol electrolyzer can be effectively constructed, which only requires a 1.48 V electrolysis voltage to reach a current density of 10 mA cm–2for high-purity hydrogen generation at the cathode as well as value-added potassium acetate generation at the anode, much lower than the electrolysis voltage of traditional electrochemical water splitting (1.64 V).

The construction of nanocage-based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with both open metal sites (OMSs) and optimal pore spaces may offer a powerful route for high-performance gas storage and purification. Herein a rectangular ligand with terpyridine and isophthalate moieties, 4-(3,5-dicarboxyphenyl)-2,2′:4′,4′′-terpyridine (termed as H2DBPT), was judiciously selected and utilized to construct such a nanocage-based Fe-MOF with the formula {Fe9(OH)6(DBPT)6-(H2O)4(DMSO)2} (SNNU-64, SNNU = Shaanxi Normal University). SNNU-64possesses two types of the linear Fe3-trimeric units connected by two different conformations of the organic ligands, which results in a unique open nanocage building unit. The activated SNNU-64exhibits a moderate amount of C2H2, C2H4, and CO2uptake and excellent ideal adsorbed solution theory (IAST) adsorption selectivities for C2H2/CH4(35.8), C2H4/CH4(24.3), and CO2/CH4(16.7) at room temperature. GCMC simulations further reveal that not only the unsaturated linear Fe3trimers but also the suitable open nanocages play crucial roles in its remarkable C2H2, C2H4, and CO2adsorption and its high CH4purification performance.

The construction of superstable metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) for selective gas uptake is urgently demanded but remains a great challenge. Herein, a unique bifunctional deformed [Ga3O(COO)6] inorganic secondary building unit (SBU) generated from the desymmetrical evolution of typical triangular prismatic trinuclear cluster was first introduced, which was extended by an isosceles triangular organic linker to produce a robust Ga-MOF (SNNU-63). Remarkably, SNNU-63can stabilize in water at 25 °C for 96 h and at 80 °C for more than 24 h, which surpasses nearly all other Ga-MOFs. The combined effects of open metal sites and hydrophobic pore environment provided by deformed [Ga3O] SBUs render SNNU-63with high C2H2storage capacity and efficient C2H2and natural gas purification performance. The ideal adsorbed solution theory calculation, column breakthrough tests, and grand canonical Monte Carlo simulations demonstrate that SNNU-63is a potential material for addressing the challenge of C2H2/CO2and C2H2/CH4mixture separation under ambient conditions.

As an important organic intermediate, benzonitrile (BN) is widely involved in organic synthetic chemistry and pharmaceutical and dyestuff industries. However, the exploration of a more efficient and controllable synthesis technique and the corresponding greener catalysts for the synthesis of BN still poses a great challenge. Herein, with multimetallic two-dimensional conductive metal–organic frameworks (2D cMOF) as anodic electrocatalysts, we develop a green, convenient, and highly efficient electrochemical synthesis strategy for BN. Thanks to the intrinsic 2D electrically conductive structure and the optimized the multimetallic coupling catalytic effect, the resulting multimetallic 2D cMOFs exhibit excellent benzylamine (BA) electrooxidation performance. Especially, the trimetallic 2D cMOF (NiCoFe-CAT) requires an ultralow potential of 1.29 V vs reversible hydrogen electrode (RHE) to achieve a 10 mA·cm–2current density, which indicates the fastest reaction and the most favorable thermodynamic condition. A very high yield (0.058 mmol·mg–1·h–1) and faradic efficiency (∼87%) of benzonitrile are both achieved during the BA electrooxidation reaction at 1.45 V. The reaction mechanism investigations indicated that the various redox mediators of MII/MIII(Ni, Co, Fe) may be regarded as multimetal active species to promote BA conversion. Also, the excellent cycling durability of multimetallic 2D cMOFs further promotes their potential practical applications. These electrocatalytic performances are considered excellent and nearly surpass all other reported Ni-based inorganics or MOF-based electrocatalysts for the electrocatalytic oxidation of benzylamine.
