Comparative Literature is the study of literary texts which are linguistically different. Comparative Indian literature is advocated by Indian comparatists to understand the unity that runs through the seemingly diversified kinds of literature of modern India. The chief objective of Indian comparative literature is to trace the similarities among the writers of various regional languages, and thereby equate their underlying similarity to Indianness which is an indispensable part of all Indian literature. Tagore and Meera are writers of modern poetry and are influenced by the pattern of Western poetry. Tagore’s Gitanjali and Meera’s Kanavukal+Karpanaikal=Kakitankal are composed in the same genre, prose poems. Also, the dominant idea in the texts, as has been asserted by many critics is love. This research article aims to ascertain the nature of parallel elements in the art of senior poet Tagore from Bengali and the later-day poet Meera from Tamil Nadu. The physical aspect of love that runs through Gitanjali is metaphysical and mystical. Tagore can present both male and female points of view in love. Meera’s Kanavukal+Karpanaikal=Kakitankal seems to glorify physical love. But it also contains much of spiritual elements. Abdul Kather, a Tamil poet and researcher states “Meera’s Kanavukal+Karpanaikal=Kakitankal reveals his devotion for his lady love.” (74). It shows that Meera is worshiping his ladylove as his God. This analysis reveals many parallels between Tagore and Meera. Both Tagore and Meera present the physical love between man and woman, and the sacred love between man and God, While the first category dominates in Meera, the second dominates in Tagore. Background: Mutuality, defined as "the positive quality of the relationship between a caregiver and a care receiver", was found to be associated with self-care and caregiver contribution to self-care in heart failure (HF). However, no studies were conducted to evaluate whether motivational interviewing (MI) can improve mutuality in patients with HF and caregivers. Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of MI on mutuality in HF patient-caregiver dyads. Methods: This is a secondary outcome analysis of the MOTIVATE-HF randomized controlled trial, the primary aim of which was to evaluate the effect of MI on improving self-care in patients with HF. Participants were randomized into 3 arms: (1)MI for patients only, (2)MI for both patients and caregivers, and (3) standard care. To assess the HF patients' and caregivers' mutuality, the Mutuality Scale was used in its patient and caregiver versions. Results: Patients with HF had a median age of 74 years, and there were more men (58%). Most patients were retired (76.2%). Caregivers had a median age of 55 years and were mostly women (75.5%). Most patients were in New York Heart Association class II (61.9%) and had an ischemic HF etiology (33.6%). The motivational interviews did not show any impact on changes in the patient and caregiver mutuality during the follow-up time (3, 6, 9, and 12 months from baseline). The condition of living together between the patient and the caregiver was significantly associated with better mutuality between the patient and the caregiver. Conclusions: Motivational interviewing performed by nurses was not effective in improving mutuality in patients with HF and caregivers, but the target variable of the intervention was patient self-care. Stronger effects of MI on mutuality were observed in patients with HF and caregivers who live together. Future studies should target mutuality to see whether MI is really effective. We can learn much about the history of Gypsy-Roma in Britain through their song culture. This comparative analysis looks at a range of songs from different tradition-bearers whose words have been recorded from the late nineteenth century into the twenty-first. First the piece examines the shared-song culture of songs from the wider British vernacular. In my experience of caring for a lesbian couple suffering a miscarriage, I disengaged my bias about their sexual orientation and compassionately cared for their needs. For several decades, Ludwig Feuerbach, who in his young years was known as Hegel's student and follower and later as one of his harshest critics, has for many reasons been a significantly neglected philosopher. However, in recent years, we have been witnesses to a kind of renaissance of Feuerbach's philosophy. Thinkers such as Jürgen Habermas have been discovering the traces of Feuerbach's anthropology and dialogical philosophy in several branches of the contemporary, post-metaphysical thought. One of the researchers whose professional activities have contributed to the revival of an interest in Feuerbach's philosophy is Jon Stewart. In his book, Hegel's Century: Alienation and Recognition in a Time of Revolution, in the chapter, "Feuerbach's Doctrine of the Humanity of the Divine in The Essence of Christianity," Stewart presents Feuerbach not only in contraposition to Hegel but also accentuates the Hegelian influence in Feuerbach's philosophy. The third-generation's Indian writings in English have enlightened the literature with its quality and vividness. The third-generation writers have concentrated their themes around sociological, diaspora elements, feminine subjects, science and technologies, explorative writings, and much more. Love is the major theme of these writers. Vikram Seth is one of the important third generation Indian writers in English. His novel An Equal Music received the 1999 Crossword Book Award for Fiction. The story revolves around Michael, a professional violinist, and his love, Julia, a pianist. As the novel is not only about the love between Michael and Julia but also about the profession of Musician, it has been well received by musical fans, and appreciated for the accuracy of Vikram Seth's descriptions of music. It throws lights on Michael Holme's love for Music. Seth handles the theme of love and music very skillfully in the novel. The aim of this paper is to show that, unlike proponents of Humean accounts of intentional action, Ockham can also answer the fundamental question of why we desire anything at all. For Ockham, desire cannot be the starting point of the explanation, since desire presupposes yet another kind of appetitive act that is objectual, or non-propositional, in its nature. Ockham calls this love (amor). It should become clear that Ockham's approach, even in his day, is not common. It is, however, worthy of detailed examination because it furthers a deeper and more complete understanding of intentional action by shedding light on this more fundamental question. In his terminology, love is the most basic kind of unconditional willing, not least because it is purely objectual: we appreciate persons as ends, not as means. The article explores critical responses to the poem "A Nocturnall Upon S. Lucies Day" by John Donne through three 21st-century poems. Topics discussed include grief of the persona, darkness and light in Donne's poem in "In the Mid-Midwinter" by Liz Lochead, counter-Augustinian love in Donne in "Love's Augustine, or What's Done Is Donne" by Jay Wright, and global grief in Donne in "Nocturnal With Ghostly Landscape on St. Lucy's Day" by Meena Alexander.

It describes Agnes Callard's struggle with a toxic love affair and belief that Eros is a monster. It highlights Richard Velkley's novella, Sarastro's Cave, which follows a professor's fear of obsolescence struggles with a mysterious medical condition.

This article explores the role of filmic objects within the romantic relationships featured in Ernst Lubitsch's silent The Marriage Circle (1924) and the comedy Trouble in Paradise (1932). I argue that these objects reflect a unique engagement with the materiality of film décor, which makes use of the strong presence of objects to portray intimacy as the site of inconclusive meaning. By examining both films together, I demonstrate how the world of inanimate objects brings erotic undertones to the surface while challenging the material conditions of the erotic itself. In order to do so, I examine the ways in which Lubitsch relies on material details not only as functional narrative devices, but as elements that challenge and complicate our interpretations of familiar things. While the underacknowledged use of objects in The Marriage Circle illustrates the logic of displacement that stands at the center of the director's style, Trouble in Paradise provides a framework for recognizing the critical role of objects in the structure of desire in his films. This article sets up a new reading of tactility and materiality in Lubitsch's use of mise en scéne and seeks to give objects a prominent role in the analysis of his style. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Empathy and compassion have become a major focus for international research and appear to be important concepts in human development. There are several definitions and models of empathy and compassion available in the literature. Based on theoretical foundations, a new model of empathy - compassion - love is proposed in the present article. This new model emphasizes the evolution of the concept of empathy, which, at higher levels, takes the form of compassion, which will then be transformed into even higher universal love making empathy and compassion a creative and significant process for the gradual evolution of individuals. The five dialogues composed in Italian by the Ragusan philosopher Nicolò Vito di Gozze (Nikola Vitov Gučetić), and published in the decade from 1581 to 1591, are all structured along similar lines. Serving a didactic end and constructed in accordance with a teacher-pupil communication model, the works portray a polite and erudite leisure-time philosophical conversation held in a secluded setting and conducted between two historically identifiable characters of the same sex, bound by ties of personal affection. In keeping with the innovative trend in sixteenth-century Italian literature of incorporating female interlocutors in the dialogue genre, two of the five cinquecentine under consideration thematize a woman-to-woman conversation. The topic of the literary discussions is that of beauty and love, at the time considered as particularly welcoming for the female voice. However, in the Dialogo iconomico, the manuscript version of the Croatian philosopher's dialogue on household management (Governo della famiglia), the interlocutors are not two learned men as in the printed edition, but the very same female speakers featured in the two Neoplatonic dialogues. The aim of this essay is to offer a reading of Gozze's representation of the female voice in his dialogues on beauty and love, as well as in the Dialogo iconomico manuscript, which exhibits a high degree of illegibility. Some evidence indicates that redundancy (superfluous repetition of an idea, word, phrase, sentence, etc. in a text) is not just an editorial error but also a symptom (a form of compulsion to repeat). To understand why there is so much redundancy in the works of many writers in Iran, we may need to delve into the social link between educators and students in Iranian education institutions. The educator is raised to the position of the Knower who not only demands that the student acknowledge that he knows something about her desire, but also that she still has not learnt that he knows. The student, however, distances herself from her link to the educator, claiming an independence from him. This social link between educator and student is reproduced in the written works of many writers in Iran: they either posit themselves as the student, thereby unconsciously compelled to repeat their gesture of independence from the Other; or as the Knower, thereby unconsciously compelled to repeat that they know. However, because, at some level, redundancy is what we want and enjoy, but nonetheless cannot enjoy enjoying it, the true question is how to enjoy the enjoyment of redundancy; the answer is found in act and love, as understood by Slavoj Zizek.
