Abstract

The article discusses a study to investigate the structural differences in hemoglobins (Hbs) of the bar-headed goose and the Chinese goose. In the study, photolysis dynamic parameters including quantum yield, enthalpy and conformational volume changes in carboxy-Hbs (HbCO) were investigated with the help of laser pumping technique and photoacoustic calorimetry. It shows smallest change in internal energy in bar-headed goose during dissociation or association of Hb.
