The article discusses a study to examine the endocrine anti-inflammatory response in dogs naturally infected with Babesia canis. Topics discussed include production of cortisol and insulin potent anti-inflammatory mediators due to infection, insulin concentrations in sick dog, and determination of white blood cell count, platelet count and haematocrit using an automatic haematology analyzer for the study. Other topic discussed include immunomodulation in dogs.

The article presents a study about the changes in the cortisol and some biochemical patterns of pregnant and barren jennies. Results showed that pregnant jennies have lower cortisol values compared to barren jennies but the circulating creatinine levels were higher in pregnant jennies. It attributes the significant differences of cortisol, creatinine and urea concentrations between the animals examined to the physiological state on the endocrine and biochemical homeostasis.

The article discusses research whose goal was to ascertain if multiple immunomodulation can decrease stress consequences of gilt relocation from the service station to the prefarrowing unit during the early gravidity phase. Three groups of pregnant Swedish Landrace gilts were involved in the research. A decrease of plasma cortisol concentration was observed in all three gilt groups during their stay in the prefarrowing unit. The researchers concluded that stress causes an increase in plasma cortisol concentration.

The article discusses a study on the effect of restraint and isolation stress (RIS) in male karakul sheep's hormonal profile. Six male adult sheep were put to restraint and isolation stress after which blood samples were collected and analyzed. The study, conducted by Anil Moolchandani, Meenaxi Saree and Jagdish Vaishnav of Rajasthan Agricultural University in India, found a significant effect of RIS on plasma cortisol of the sheep's hormonal profile.
