This study examines the evolving landscape of Chinese opera education, focusing on bridging the gap between traditional practices and modern educational methods. We investigate how opera is integrated into compulsory education, highlighting its significance in emotional and aesthetic development. Our systematic analysis of 45 pieces of literature covers themes such as the historical evolution of opera education, the interaction between technology and traditional methods, and the integration of opera in contemporary education systems. Key findings indicate a trend towards modernization while preserving cultural heritage. This underscores the importance of innovative teaching techniques that resonate with modern audiences. Additionally, the study explores how education and technology can collaborate to adapt Chinese opera to global and digital trends. It also examines ways to perpetuate and evolve this traditional art form across diverse cultural and educational backgrounds. Future research areas identified include the integration of advanced technology in opera education and the global promotion of this art form, aiming to enrich and expand its reach and relevance in today's interconnected world. Objective: To compare robot-assisted thyroidectomy (RT) and open thyroidectomy (OT) through a prospective cohort study focusing on the rate of postoperative hypoparathyroidism, efficacy, and quality of life (QoL). Summary background data: Hypoparathyroidism is a frequent complication after thyroidectomy. Reducing the risk of hypoparathyroidism after total thyroidectomy is a crucial and difficult task for thyroid surgeons. Methods: We prospectively enroled 306 patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma into an RT group and OT group. The former used "super-meticulous" capsular dissection) and the latter used traditional meticulous capsular dissection. Patients were evaluated by scales [Short Form (SF)-36, Visual Impairment Scale (VIS), Swallowing Impairment Scale (SIS), Neck Impairment Scale (NIS), Scar questionnaire (SCAR-Q)]. Results: The rates of transient hypoparathyroidism, permanent hypoparathyroidism, and transient hypocalcemia after surgery in the OT group and RT group were significantly different (P <0.001). SIS and VIS scores in the two groups were significantly different (P <0.001). SF-36 showed significant differences (P< 0.001) in the subsections of "physiological function", "body pain", "general health", "vitality", "social function", "role emotional", and "mental health" between the two groups. SCAR-Q showed that the length and appearance of scars showed significant differences between the two groups. Conclusions: RT with Super-meticulous capsular dissection can protect parathyroid function and improve postoperative QoL, and could be a new option for robot-assisted surgery against thyroid cancer. The arrival of the metaverse, as a new generation of information technology, will bring great changes to people's production, life, and learning. The educational metaverse is regarded as a new form of educational development, which will bring a transformative impact on educational teaching activities. In this context, this study has developed a general architecture of educational metaverse system, which includes the physical layer, software layer, data layer, and application layer, based on the technical, theoretical, and architectural support and its digital ecology of educational metaverse system construction. The study has tried to construct a physiology virtual experimental teaching system and taken the rabbit's exercise of respiration regulation experiment as an example to start the research on the educational metaverse in physiology experimental teaching. Participants of the study were 120 students from the 2019 clinical medicine class at School A. By analyzing the learning outcome of students in the virtual experiment course of the educational metaverse, it is concluded that educational metaverse can promote both teaching and learning in the process of experimental teaching; this research has explored the path for the new form of Internet education, which is of great significance for promoting the efficient construction of new education infrastructure and the innovative development of education modernization. The integration of virtual reality (VR) and education is a key way to realize the modernization of higher education. Instructors' competencies directly affect students' learning experiences and achievements. Based on the IBSTPI competency standards compiled by the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance, and Instruction (IBSTPI), this study developed an instructors' competencies scale suitable for the VR environment from the perspective of students' learning experience and conducted an empirical research on the current situation of instructors' competencies in VR environment. The scale categorizes of instructors' competencies included six dimensions: establishing and maintaining learning motivation competencies, expressing competencies, questioning competencies, giving feedback competencies, promoting knowledge consolidation competencies, and facilitating knowledge transfer competencies. The results showed that the competencies of university instructors in VR environments have been in the upper middle level and there were differences in the level of instructors' competencies in different dimensions. Electrochemical capacitors, also called supercapacitors (SCs), play an important role in the field of electrochemical energy storage and have great potential to become the most advanced power supply for portable electronic devices and electric vehicles. The performance of SCs depends mainly on the properties of the electrode material, and many novel electrode materials have been explored. Clay mineral materials, including montmorillonite, halloysite, and attapulgite, are potential electrode materials due to their layered structure, high specific surface area, natural abundance, low cost, and environmentally friendly nature. However, most of them suffer from low electronic conductivity, which limits their application as high-performance electrodes for SCs. Many efforts have been made to resolve this issue. Here, we summarize a series of clay mineral based electrode materials for SCs. To better develop clay minerals to produce green and pollution-free electrode materials, the structures and properties of minerals are also introduced. Background: In November 2017, the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association (ACC/AHA) updated their definition of hypertension from 140/90 mm Hg to 130/80 mm Hg. Objectives: We sought to assess the situation of hypertension and the impact of applying the new threshold to a geographically and ethnically diverse population. Methods: We analyzed selected data on 237,142 participants aged =40 who had blood pressure taken for the 2014 China National Stroke Screening and Prevention Project. Choropleth maps and logistic regression analyses were performed to estimate the prevalence, geographical distribution and risk factors of hypertension using both 2017 ACC/AHA guidelines and 2014 evidence-based guidelines. Results: The present cross-sectional study showed the age- and sex-standardized prevalence of hypertension was 37.08% and 58.52%, respectively, according to 2014 evidence-based guidelines and 2017 ACC/AHA guidelines. The distribution of hypertension and risk factors changed little between guidelines, with data showing a high prevalence of hypertension around Bohai Gulf and in south central coastal areas using either definition. The age- and sex-standardized prevalence of newly labeled as hypertensive was 21.44%. Interestingly, the high prevalence region of newly labeled as hypertensive was found in the north China. Conclusion: The prevalence of hypertension increased significantly on 2017 ACC/AHA guidelines compared to the prevalence when using 2014 evidence-based guidelines, with high prevalence areas of newly labeled as hypertensive now seen mainly in north China. Objectives: The aims of this study were to investigate the differences of fasciculations detected by muscle ultrasonography (MUS) among patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), patients with ALS mimics and healthy controls, and to propose a simplified MUS fasciculation score for the diagnosis of ALS. Methods: We included 16 patients with ALS (ALS group), 10 patients with ALS mimics (disease-control group), and 10 healthy adults (healthy control group). Subjects underwent MUS in 11 muscles, including the tongue, and bilateral upper trapezius, biceps brachii, abductor pollicis brevis, rectus femoris, and tibialis anterior. Results: The number of muscles with fasciculations per person was more in the ALS group (6.44 ± 2.56) than in the disease-control group (1.20 ± 1.87, P = 0.001) and healthy control group (0.50 ± 1.08, P < 0.001). Fasciculations in 3 of 11 muscles could predict the ALS diagnosis with high sensitivity (88.2%) and specificity (94.7%). Cloud is a common weather phenomenon in the sky. It is formed by condensation of water vapor in the atmosphere. It is a suspension composed of water droplets, ice crystals or their mixtures. The infrared radiation characteristics of clouds are related to the particles phase state in clouds, the particle radius distribution and the cloud optical thickness. They are also affected by the sun, earth surface types and atmospheric conditions. In this paper, it introduces the physical parameters of the ice crystals in cloud, and researches the scattering characteristics of ice crystals. Based on radiation transfer algorithms, an ice cloud radiation model is established. The ice cloud infrared radiation is analyzed that the ice clouds infrared radiation varies with optical thickness. It shows that when the cloud optical thickness is not large, the radiance of ice clouds decreases with the increase of optical thickness. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A new numerical method was proposed to describe the thermodynamic process of solidification and melting of alumina within discrete phase model (DPM). In this method, mushy region model which usually used in energy engineering was introduced in the calculation of phase transition and the effect of latent heat was calculated by defining the specific heat capacity of alumina particles. According to the comparison between cases which were no particle case, pure solid particles and phase transition involved case, several impacts on the flow field by particles were presented. The concentration, microscopic characterization and transmittance of a P(A)SiO 2 smoke product with different SiO 2 ratios were measured by using particle collector, scanning electron microscopy and infrared spectrometer. The micro-Characterization of the product and the effect of the product on the transmittance were analyzed. The results show that the proportion of SiO 2 has no linear effect on smoke concentration, and there is an optimal proportion; the size of particulate matter of smoke products is about 10-20 μm, and the structure is irregular; The transmittance of smoke is affected by concentration in the early stage of smoke release. The higher the concentration, the lower the transmittance. The later stage of smoke release is mainly affected by particulate deposition. Disintermediation, which refers to dealing with customers directly through the e-booking platform, has been gradually embraced by travel product suppliers in recent years to avoid high distribution costs of the intermediaries. China announced at the Paris Climate Change Conference in 2015 that the country would reach peak carbon emissions around 2030. Since then, widespread attention has been devoted to determining when and how this goal will be achieved. This study aims to establish national carbon emissions prices for the People's Republic of China, which is one of the world's largest producers of carbon emissions. Innovation path of China's carbon emission trading market construction is studied. Several measures have been undertaken to address climate change in China, including the establishment of a carbon trading system. Since 2013, eight regional carbon emissions markets have been established, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Shenzhen, Tianjin, Chongqing, Hubei and Fujian. Establishing national carbon emissions prices should be very helpful for the national carbon emissions market that is under construction in China, as well as for other regions and countries worldwide. Bovine adenovirus type 3 (BAdV3) is being used in the development of potential vehicles for gene therapy and vectored vaccine. To that end, a more comprehensive description of BAdV3 biology is essential. In this study, we focused on the role of pIX in BAdV3 virion rescue after full-length BAdV3 genome transfection. Initially, pIX deletion or initiation codon mutation abolished the production of progeny virions, which suggested that pIX was essential for the rescue of BAdV3 containing a full-length genome. Moreover, through transfection of a panel of pIX mutant BAdV3 genomes, we observed that the conserved N-terminus and the putative leucine zipper element (PLZP) were essential for virion rescue, whereas the C-terminus following the coiled-coil domain was non-essential. In addition, swap of the PLZP element and its following region of BAdV3 pIX to corresponding domains of human adenovirus type 5 (HAdV5) did not affect virion production, whereas swap of the entire pIX abolished production of progeny virions. We suggest that failure of the full-length BAdV3 pIX swap might be due to species specificity of its N-terminus region before the PLZP element. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

GC-MS is the basis of analysis of plant volatiles. Several protocols employed for the assay have resulted in inconsistent results in the literature. We developed a GC-MS method, which were applied to analyze 25 volatiles (a-pinene, camphene, β-pinene, 2-methyl-2-pentenal, myrcene, (+)-limonene, eucalyptol, trans-2-hexenal, γ-terpinene, cis-3-hexeneyl-acetate, 1-hexanol, α-pinene oxide, cis-3-hexen-1-ol, trans-2-hexen-1-ol, decanal, linalool, acetyl-borneol, β-caryophyllene, 2-undecanone, 4-terpineol, borneol, decanol, eugenol, isophytol and phytol) of Houttuynia cordata Thunb. Linear behaviors for all analytes were observed with a linear regression relationship (r²>0.9991) at the concentrations tested. Recoveries of the 25 analytes were 98.56-103.77% with RSDs <3.0%. Solution extraction (SE), which involved addition of an internal standard, could avoid errors for factors in sample preparation by steam distillation (SD) and solidphase micro extraction (SPME). Less sample material (≈0.05g fresh leaves of H. cordata) could be used to determine the contents of 25 analytes by our proposed method and, after collection, did not affect the normal physiological activity or growth of H. cordata. Nanocrystalline intermetallic Mo2C has been synthesized via carbonizing of molybdenum oxides and studied as a capacitive material for electrochemical energy storage. A specific capacitance of 218 F g-1 is found in aqueous 1 mol dm-3 H2SO4 at 20°C using a specific current density of 1 A g-1, with 5.3% loss of capacitance being experienced after 10000 cycles of charging-discharging. 88.5% of the initial value remains at a specific current density of 10 A g-1. Electrochemical capacitance of Mo2C may be attributed to its electrical conductivity and nanostructure that can promote the electrochemical performance observably and ensure a long cycle life and electrical charge transfer. The assembled asymmetrical Mo2C//AC electrochemical capacitor shows an energy and power density of 23.5 W h kg-1 and 9028.8 W kg-1, facilitating duty applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: It has been demonstrated that substance P (SP) promotes while neurokinin-1 receptor (NK-1R) antagonist inhibits the proliferation of several human cancer cells. Currently, it is still unknown whether such actions exist in human endometrial carcinoma. This study aimed to explore the role of SP/NK-1R signaling in the progression of endometrial adenocarcinoma. Materials and Methods: The expression levels of SP and NK-1R in endometrial adenocarcinoma tissues and Ishikawa cell line were detected by real-time quantitative PCR and Western blot analysis. The effects of SP on Ishikawa cells proliferation and invasion were analyzed usingMTTassay and transwell matrigel invasion assay, respectively. The expression levels of matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9) and vascular endothelial growth factor C (VEGF-C) in Ishikawa cells after administration of SP were detected by real-time quantitative RCR and Western blot analysis. Results: The expression levels of SP and NK-1R were significantly higher in endometrial adenocarcinoma tissues and Ishikawa cells than in normal endometrium. Substance P significantly enhanced the proliferation and invasion of Ishikawa cells. In addition, SP induced the expression of MMP-9 and VEGF-C in Ishikawa cells, whereas NK-1R antagonist inhibited these effects. Conclusions: Substance P plays an important role in the development of endometrial carcinoma by inducing the expression of MMP-9 and VEGF-C and promoting cancer cell proliferation and metastasis, which can be blocked by NK-1R antagonist.
