The article presents the study which examined the genetic variations and population structure of 10 species of the razor clam, Sinonovacula constricta, along the coast of China. The aim of the study is to develop better management methods and future selective breeding programs for the clam. In the study, eight microsatellites were used to study the species. It cites the use of the phylogenetic Neighbor-joining tree analysis in the study. It cites the importance of the mean expected heterozygosity (He) and the mean allelic richness (Ar) in estimating the population diversity of the species.
