China’s southeast coast is one of the regions with most severely influenced by typhoons in the world, which suffers significant casualties and huge economic losses every year. A multiple regression prediction model of the economic losses educed by typhoon disaster in coastal areas of southeastern china was proposed. The principles of multivariate regression analysis were introduced firstly and the Typhoon disaster data over the east coast of China were analyzed. Then, the affected area, deaths and houses collapsed were chose as the variables and a multivariate regression prediction model of the economic losses educed by typhoon disaster was proposed. The results indicate that the factors affecting the economic losses of typhoon disasters randomness were taken into account and the responses of the independent variables and the dependent variable from the statistical data were provided.

Objective A disintegrin and metalloprotease (ADAM)10 has been implicated in the progression of various solid tumours. Little is known, however, about its role in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The aim of the present study was to evaluate the protein and transcript level expression of ADAM10 in HCC patients.Methods Samples of HCC and adjacent noncancerous liver tissue were taken during liver resection surgery. Immunostaining was used to measure ADAM10 protein expression levels and quantitative reverse– transcription polymerase chain reaction was used to measure ADAM10 mRNA expression levels. Levels of ADAM10 were compared, and a survival analysis undertaken.Results In total, 98 HCC patient samples were studied. There were significant associations between protein levels of ADAM10 and tumour grade, amount of tumour differentiation, tumour size and the presence of metastasis. Furthermore, ADAM10 protein expression was significantly associated with shortened patient survival.Conclusions ADAM10 is strongly expressed in a large proportion of HCC cases, which is in agreement with findings in other tumour entities. Expression of ADAM10 may serve as a useful molecular marker for HCC.

To the Yangtze River a long-span transmission tower as an example, this paper makes a comparative analysis on the davenport wind spectrum and kaman wind spectrum, using two different wind spectrum calculation of wind-induced response of the structure. Obtained the conclusions that kaman wind spectrum of considering vertical correlation get greater wind-induced response in a large span transmission tower engineering.

Fatigue damage of guyed mast earplate welded joint is one of the main failure forms of guyed mast under wind load, and the welding residual stress is a important influence on fatigue performance of the welded joints, therefore, accurate welding residual stresses assessment of earplate welded joint is of great significance to the research on fatigue performance of guyed mast earplate welded joint under wind load. In this paper, welding temperature field of earplate welded joint was simulated by using thermal finite element method and the gauss heat source was used as thermal input. Then, welding residual stress of earplate welded joint was simulated by using thermal elastic-plastic finite element method and the temperature field results were used as the load. The welding temperature field simulation results better reflect the locality of heating, mobility of heat source and instantaneity of heating and cooling process during the welding process. The welding residual stress simulation results show that the residual stress peak of earplate welded joint reaches the yield strength of material, and appears at the dangerous point of earplate welded joint under structural external load. This point under influence of the welding residual stress and structure load is likely to be fatigue crack initiation location.

Seat suspension is one of a most important part of a vehicle, also it significantly affects the comfortableness of cars. Compared with traditional dampers, magneto-rheological ones can achieve the condition with continuous adjustable damping force. Compared with electro-rheological fluid, magneto-rheological ones have some merits including noise defending, large damping forces and fast response etc. Based on magneto-rheological dampers, the structural parameters were calculated and characteristic test was conducted. Constant amplitude of 5mm and frequency of 1hz were applied. As the current was respectively changing, the peak of damping forces changed correspondingly. In order to figure out a model, which can illustrated the influence of damping force on current, researchers also identify the magneto-rheological dampers using support vector regression. In this paper, research related with fuzzy control of seat-suspension system has been done by using a Matlab simulation model, so as to verify the damping forces can be adjustable and it has priority on vibration attenuation.

Fatigue failure of welded structure has been highly concerned in structural engineering field. At present, the numerical simulation method has been actively applied on fatigue life prediction of welded structures. In this paper, welding residual stress of a butt welded plate was simulated by thermal elastic-plastic finite element method, and welding residual stress relaxation behavior under overload was analyzed. Then, the fatigue life of the welding plate under cyclic loading was numerically predicted with considering the welding residual stress and welding residual stress relaxation, and the result was compared with that calculated according to current steel structures design code of China. The results show that, considering fatigue reliability, the fatigue life calculated based on design formulas of the steel design code is more conservative, and numerical method for fatigue life prediction of welded structures, considering the welding residual stress and welding residual stress relaxation, is a feasible method.

Wind pressure of pedestrian bridge induced by main line train has been investigated using numerical simulation. Based on time-filtered Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes equations, meanwhile, the RNG k-ε turbulent model is selected to close the equations, the three-dimensional incompressible unsteady flow computational fluid dynamics model have been established by commercial software FLUENT. The distribution of wind pressure and the time histories of wind pressure on surface of the bottom of bridge are obtained, moreover, the characteristics of variation process are summarized.

A novel magnetic ion exchange resin called MIEX Resin is being utilized in potable water treatment, which indicates significant advantages. The objective of this article is to analyze characteristics and application of MIEX Resin in engineering projects, and hence provide critical review on merits and demerits of the resin. Furthermore, researches on combination of MIEX Resin with other water treatment technologies would be analyzed and discussed to prove potential that a MIEX Resin process integrated with other treatments can be employed in broader fields of wastewater treatment and reuse.

Chinas southeast coast is one of the regions with most severely influenced by typhoons in the world, which suffers significant casualties and huge economic losses every year. In this paper, the trends of economic loss educed by typhoon disaster in coastal areas of southeastern china were studied using regression analysis methods. Firstly, the data sources were introduced and the typhoon landing areas are all over the east coast of China were analyzed.Then, development trends of the affected area , deaths, houses collapsed and the direct economic losses were studied in detail. The results indicate that the affected area and deaths induced by typhoon disaster fluctuate greatly and the number of deaths has been showing a declining trend. The linear regression, exponential regression and logistic regression analysis results all indicate that the number of houses collapsed due to Typhoon present a downward trend year by year while the direct economic losses induced by typhoon disaster present an upward trend year by year.

Servo punch press uses a servo motor to drive. It can set different stroke length and velocity according to different production requirements, and can always ensure the formation precision of the bottom dead center. It has the advantages of high efficiency, high precision and low noise, and it presents the development trend of punch press. The key point of the servo punch press development is its control system. According to the functional requirements and technical performance of the servo punch press, the general approach of the servo punch press material forming control law is discussed in this paper. The development platform based on DSP control system has built up as well. By means of the Simulink and the Target for TI C2000 tools in Matlab, the dynamic model of punch press system and controlling model, including forming model, DSP-based controller model and plant model,etc., have been designed. Base on this, the forming characteristics of different materials, forming control algorithms have been studies through simulation and virtual experiments.The controller algorithm can be transferred automatically to the target controller. This approach can reduce developing time and costs of servo punch press control system and improve developing efficiency.

RFID anti-collision technology is one of a key technology in RFID application system. Anti-collision algorithms for RFID systems include tag anti-collision algorithms and reader anti-collision algorithms. This paper focused on the impoved binary algorithm and dynamic binary algorithm. An improved algorithm has been proposed, in which the collision bits was put into the stack and they were used as the reader’s request. Based on this mechanism, a novel binary stack algorithm has been proposed. Its simulation was given to analyze the performance of this algorithm. The simulation results showed that the amount of transmitted data in proposed algorithm was obviously less than those in the other two traditional algorithms with the number of tags and their bytes increasing. Consequently, the performance of the proposed algorithm is much better than that of the traditional anti-collision binary algorithm.

Downbursts have led to large number of transmission tower failures in the world, so more and more wind engineers are very interested in such strong wind load. Currently the main numerical simulation method of downburst wind load for structural analysis is based on the horizontal divergent wind speed profile of downburst. There have been several available types of empirical wind speed profiles in which some parameters still need to be artificially determined. So, this is a semi-empirical-analytical method which can not be linked with actual downbursts. Some academics have also used CFD numerical method to simulate downburst wind speed profile of high precision grid. But the initial conditions of these CFD simulations were all assumed ideally. In this paper, the wind speed profiles of an actual downburst are simulated by CFD method based on the initial speed of downdraft entrance provided by cloud model. The simulated wind speed profile decays more slowly than an empirical wind speed profile. This conclusion could be of significance for structural engineers to consider downburst wind load reasonably in the structural wind resistant design.

Thunderstorm microbursts, which are sources of extreme wind loadings in nature, have caused numerous structural failures, especially collapses of transmission tower around the world. Numerical simulation using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has recently made significant progress in simulating downbursts. In this paper, transient simulation of a three-dimensional moving downburst was studied using computational fluid dynamics simulation method. Transient simulation of a three-dimensional moving downburst was conducted using time-filtered Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) numerical simulation method. The three-dimensional transient wind field characteristics in a moving downburst were studied in detail. The results indicate that transient wind field characteristics in a moving downburst present quite different characteristics compared with stationary downburst at different heights and radial positions.

Actuator is a very important part of vehicle active control suspension. Based on the analyses of traditional passive suspension and active suspension system, a novel vehicle active suspension with Electro-Hydrostatic Actuator (EHA) is put forward. The system consists of two parts: spring and actuator with variable control force. The actuator includes hydraulic cylinder, hydraulic pump, controller, etc. According to bond graph principle, bond graph model of EHA active suspension are built. In addition, sky-hook controller and fuzzy logic controller are designed and sky-hook control and fuzzy control active suspension are simulated using MATLAB tools. The prototype and test rig of EHA active suspension are developed and bench tests are carried out. The simulation and experimental results show that sky-hook control and fuzzy control active suspension with EHA provide better ride comfort and stability than passive suspension system.

Downburst is a strong downdraft generated below a cumulonimbus cloud, which hits the ground rapidly and causes significant low-level wind shear. It is a strong destructive regional weather phenomenon, which is the main reason for the transmission towers. In recent years, some scholars have researched the finer wind field characteristics and wind load of downburst by using the method of CFD. But the initial conditions are all assumed due to the small synoptic scale, the short lifecycle and the big measurement difficulty of downburst. So downburst wind load can not be taken into account in structural design. Based on the 3-D convective storm numerical model, by inputting temperature, humidity and wind fields detected in Wuhan radiosonde station at 8pm on July,27th,2007, simulation has been accomplished to understand the characteristics of the wind field in the place where the downburst incurred actually. The result provides model data and parameters for CFD simulation, which has directive significance to concern the high intensity downburst wind load in structure design.

In this paper, the three-dimensional wind field characteristics of thunderstorm microbursts were studied using computational simulation method. Firstly, the three-dimensional wind field of microburst was computational simulated using time-filtered Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) numerical computational method. Then, the three-dimensional wind field characteristics including the wind distribution of wind velocity at different heights, the wind contours at lower altitude positions were studied in detail. The results indicate that the three-dimensional wind field of microbursts winds presents quite different characteristics at different heights and radial positions.

Downburst winds with their great destructive power have caused destruction of numerous engineering structures around the world. Study on wind loadings of downburst is essential and hot in the wind engineering field. But various meteorological factors of downburst formulation are not considered in existing research methods in the wind engineering field. In this paper, a downburst case is simulated by using a numerical weather prediction model ARPS from the meteorological point of view. The simulation results successfully reproduce the wind field characteristics while downburst occurring. The study in this paper aims at introducing meteorological method and knowledge to the wind engineering field, and the results of mesoscale numerical simulation in this study will be used in the small-scale numerical simulation as initial data in further study.

Pancreatic cancer is a lethal malignancy with a dismal prognosis. Gemcitabine is currently used to treat pancreatic cancer, but it is limited by significant toxicity. Clinical trials on the combination of gemcitabine and erlotinib reported unsatisfactory outcomes along with concerns of toxicity. The encapsulation of chemotherapy drugs in polylactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) nanoparticles (NPs) can alleviate toxicity through targeted delivery and sustained release. In addition, camouflaging the NPs with a macrophage membrane can evade the immune system and further improve tumor homing. We designed gemcitabine-loaded PLGA NPs with a macrophage membrane coating (MPGNPs) to reduce drug toxicity and increase the accumulation in the tumor. The combination of MPGNPs and erlotinib synergistically inhibited pancreatic cancer cell proliferation in vitroand in vivoby targeting the PI3K/AKT/mTOR and Ras/Raf/MEK/ERK signaling pathways. The MPGNPs were also able to evade phagocytosis and achieve passive targeting to the pancreatic tumors. The combination of MPGNPs and erlotinib showed synergistic anti-tumor efficacy in vitroand in vivo. This study provides a proof-of-concept for treating pancreatic cancer with a combination of MPGNPs and erlotinib.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains to a common cause of tumor mortality worldwide and represents the most common type of lethal hepatic malignancy. The incidence of HCC is swiftly increasing in western countries and southeast Asia. Despite poor prognosis, traditional treatments for advanced HCC appear to be minimally effective or even useless since patients are usually diagnosed in the advanced stage of disease. In recent years, immune checkpoint blockade has shown promising results in multiple pre-clinical and clinical trials of different solid tumors, including advanced HCC. Novel drugs targeting immune checkpoints, such as nivolumab (anti-PD-1), durvalumab (anti-PD-L1), and tremelimumab (anti-CTLA-4) have been shown to be highly effective and relatively safe in monotherapy or in combination treatment of advanced liver cancer. Unlike other immunotherapies, this approach can rouse human anti-tumor immunity by relieving T-cell exhaustion and inhibiting the evasion of HCC by blocking co-inhibitory signaling transduction accurately. In this review, we will provide current knowledge of several major immune checkpoints and summarize recent data from clinical trials that applied immune checkpoint inhibitors alone or in combination. In addition, this review will discuss the limitations and future prospective of immune checkpoint-targeted therapy for advanced HCC.
