Abstract

The article investigates the effect of crude polysaccharide extract (CPE) on nitric oxide (NO), hydrogen peroxide, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, and prostaglandin E2 production in RAW 264.7 cells. CPE increased the phagocytosis of macrophages and the release of NO, hydrogen peroxide, TNF-α and prostaglandin E2. in a dose-dependent manner and showed a similar activity to lipopolysaccharide.
