Single-γ, γγ-coincidence, and γ-ray angular distribution spectra of the 106Cd(p, nγ)106In reaction were measured with Ge(HP), Ge(Li), and Ge(LEPS) detectors at various bombarding proton energies between 8 and 11 MeV. Altogether 141 (among them 117 new) transitions have been assigned to 106In. The conversion electrons were studied with an intermediate-image magnetic spectrometer plus Si(Li) detector, as well as with a superconducting magnetic lens combined with a Si(Li) detector. Internal conversion coefficients have been determined for 22 transitions. A more complete level scheme of 106In, containing 49 levels below 1650 keV excitation energy, has been proposed. On the basis of the internal conversion coefficients of transitions, Hauser-Feshbach analysis of (p, n) reaction cross sections, γ-ray angular distributions and other arguments, spin and parity values have been deduced. The energy splittings of pn multiplets have been compared with the predictions of the parabolic rule. The energy levels, wave functions, electromagnetic moments, as well as reduced M1 and E2 transition probabilities were calculated in the framework of the interacting boson-fermion-fermion/odd-odd truncated quadrupole phonon model (IBFFM/OTQM), and resonably good agreement was obtained with experimental data.

The?-spectra and? excitation functions of the102Ru(p, n{?})102Rh reaction were measured with Ge(Li) and hyperpure Ge spectrometers at various bombarding proton energies between 3.20 and 4.05 MeV. The?-ray energies and intensities as well as the? threshold energies were determined, and 43 new?-rays were assigned to the102Rh nucleus.??-coincidence measurements were performed too at 4 MeV bombarding proton energy with Ge(Li) spectrometers. The level scheme of102Rh was deduced up to 580 keV excitation energy and 12 previously unobserved levels were placed in the scheme.

γ-spectra and excitation functions of the100Mo(p, nγ)100Tc reaction were measured in the 1.2–3.6 MeV proton energy range by using thick, enriched targets, Ge(Li) and low energy photon (hyperpure Ge) spectrometers. These detectors were used inγγ-coincidence experiments, too. Conversion electron spectrum measurements were performed by means of a superconducting magnet transporter Si(Li) spectrometer (SMS) atEp =4 MeV and multipolarities of some transitions have been determined. Based on the experimental results a level scheme of100Tc has been constructed. Level energies of100Tc were calculated on the basis of the parabolic rule, derived from the cluster-vibration model.

The conversion electron and?-ray spectra of the96Zr(p, n ?)96Nb reaction were measured with Ge(Li) and superconducting magnet transporter Si(Li) spectrometers respectively, at 4MeV bombarding proton energy. The multipolarities of some transitions were determined and conclusions were drawn on the spins and parities of the excited states of96Nb.

The decay heat of fission products plays an important role in predictions of the heat up of nuclear fuel in reactors. The released energy is calculated as the summation of the activities of all fission products $P(t) =\sum E_i\lambda_iN_i(t)$, where Eiis the decay energy of nuclide i, λiis the decay constant of nuclide i and Ni(t) is the number of nuclide i at cooling time t. Even though the reproduction of the measured decay heat has improved in recent years, there is still a long standing discrepancy in the t ∼1000 s cooling time for some fuels. A possible explanation to this improper description has been found in the work of Yoshida et al [1], where it has been shown that the incomplete knowledge of the β-decay of some Tc isotopes can be the source of the systematic discrepancy. Motivated by [1], we have recently measured the β-decay process of some Tc isotopes using a total absorption spectrometer at the IGISOL facility in Jyväskylä. The results of the measurements as well as the their consequences on summation calculations are discussed.
