This paper introduces the research field of Wikipedactics with a focus on the relevance of Wikipedia’s lexicographic aspects for German lessons in higher education: The central issue is to describe one of the most successful digital platforms of the Social Web as a worthwhile teaching and learning subject. It explains Wikipedia’s hypertextual nature, its micro- and macro-structure and details scenarios of use in the classroom and the lecture hall. The paper demonstrates how pupils and students can develop digital skills and information competences when using Wikipedia. Furthermore, the didactic potential of digital tools such as Wikibu and WikiWatchdog enabling the reflected access of Wikipedia users to the onlineencyclopaedic content is evaluated.

Der vorliegende Artikel erprobt diskursanalytische Zugänge zu Narrativen und geht dabei von der Idee aus, dass Narrative transtextuelle Verbreitung in (digitalen) Diskursen finden. Um das Spektrum möglicher Varianten solcher Diskursanalysen abzubilden, fokussiert der Beitrag zwei verschiedene Methoden und zwei verschiedene Untersuchungsgegenstände: Zunächst wird das digitale Tool Rabbid vorgestellt, das korpusanalytisch informierte Diskursanalysen narrativer Konzepte – auch digitalisierter literarischer Texte – im Sinne der Diskurslexikographie ermöglicht. Dann fokussiert der Beitrag Narrative in digitalen Medien – konkret in der Wikipedia – aus diskurslinguistischer Perspektive. In diesem Zusammenhang rücken digitale Methoden in den Fokus diskursanalytischer Untersuchungen digitaler Diskurse. This paper explores discourse analytic perspectives on narratives. Starting point is that these narratives diffuse transtextually. To cover the broad spectrum of such discourse analyses we will focus on two different methods and on two different objectives of study: First, we introduce the digital tool Rabbid that enables corpus-based discourse studies of narratives drawing on the tradition of discourse lexicography. As an example a corpus of 19thcentury literature in Germany is used. Second, the paper focuses on narratives in digital media. In this context, our paper is a contribution to the discussion about digital discourse analysis by investigating digital discourses about nanotechnology on Wikipedia.

This paper presents a corpus study of talk pages on Wikipedia combining morphologic and discourse linguistics approaches. The study reveals that –itisis a highly productive suffix in meta(-linguistic) discourses of the online-encyclopaedia: Wikipedia authors using word formation products with the suffix –itis(e. g. Newstickeritisor WhatsAppitis) try to standardise the collaborative knowledge production with the help of these linguistic innovations. The corpus analysis delivers evidence for the fact that certain linguistic innovations and special types of word formation characterise the community of Wikipedia authors and their discourse traditions. Thereby, this paper contributes to the discussion about digital discourse analysis of natively digital data taking stock of the Wikipedia corpora in the German Reference Corpus (Deutsches Referenzkorpus). The peculiarities of Wikipedia's data will be explained, modes of analysis discussed and the challenges of the suggested integration of morphology and discourse linguistics will be explored.

In the face of international financial markets and recurrent financial crises with a global range, cross-language sentiment classification is one of the most active research areas in the field of natural language processing (NLP). In fact, this issue has spread outside of NLP to finance and accounting as well as to linguistics. So far, there is a lack of cross-linguistic resources for such analyses that allow sentiment classification in multiple languages. This paper finds that metaphorical patterns are a powerful starting point to build a cross-linguistic, discourse-specific and n-gram-based resource for sentiment classification: the large compiled corpora contain a collection of English and German newspaper articles that were published in the New York Times and in the Frankfurter Rundschau. In this paper I present the findings of a corpus-based study of metaphorical patterns used to refer to the subprime mortgage crisis of the variety of metaphors in newspaper articles, specifically regarding metaphors as a transtextual phenomenon in the light of discourse analysis. The data suggest that in both languages corresponding metaphorical patterns are used. Finally, I will discuss implications for sentiment analysis and argue for the movement towards the development of discourse-specific and n-gram-based sentiment dictionaries.
