Glass exhibits high transmittance in the solar radiation band but high absorbance in the mid-far infrared (MIR) band, which causes a poor energy-saving effect. Thermal insulation coatings offer the most effective solution to address this. Among these, nano-cesium tungsten bronze (CsxWO3) had a strong blocking effect in the solar radiation band due to its intrinsic absorption, local surface plasmon resonance, and small polaron absorption, but its reflectivity in the MIR band was very low. Conversely, silver nanowires (AgNWs) formed a dense network structure with low transmittance and high reflectance in the MIR band; however, when mixed into Cs0.32WO3slurries, the solar radiation-blocking ability was weakened. In order to assess the impact of AgNWs on the properties of Cs0.32WO3films, this study collected experimental data from different Cs0.32WO3films doped with AgNWs for multilayer perceptron (MLP) neural network machine learning. The trained models exhibited efficient and accurate prediction abilities. A large number of extrapolated independent variables were input to the trained MLP models using the grid search method, and then the predicted results of dependent variables were displayed in three-dimensional (3D) models to more intuitively show the influence of doping AgNWs on the optical performance of different Cs0.32WO3films. Through an optimization analysis of two 3D models of T550 nm(transmittance at 550 nm) and SC (shading coefficient), two transition values of T550 nmwere found: 69.5 and 64.2%. When T550 nmsurpassed 69.5%, the SC value of nondoped Cs0.32WO3films was the lowest. Conversely, when T550nmwas below 69.5%, doping with AgNWs decreased the SC value of Cs0.32WO3films. Using the optimal mixture of Cs0.32WO3slurries and AgNW slurry at a ratio of 1:3, the SC value of nondoped Cs0.32WO3films was lower when T550nmexceeded 64.2%. Conversely, when T550 nmwas below 64.2%, the same mixture resulted in a lower SC value. These predicted results and their accuracy were verified by experiments and provided important technical guidance and method support for future research and the application of high-performance Cs0.32WO3films.

With the burgeoning application of diverse electronic equipment in daily life and national defense, the requirements for electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness (EMISE) are constantly increasing. The precise adjustment of pore structure and the controllable distribution of conductive fillers in pores have become key challenges in optimizing EMISE of porous materials. Herein, we fabricated fluorinated carbon nanotube (FCNT) and polyarylene ether nitrile (PEN) FCNT/PEN composites with advanced EMISE by precisely controlling the pore structure of PEN porous films via delayed phase conversion (DPC) method and distributing FCNT on the obtained pore walls. Dispersion and electronegativity of carbon nanotube are firstly modified by fluorination treatment, offering FCNT. The pore structures of PEN porous films with enriched FCNT on their pore walls are adjusted by changing constitution of coagulation bath and amount of porogen PVP K30. Benefiting from the separated pore structure and continuous conducting network of FCNT inside the pore, these porous films exhibit up to 27.3 dB absorption dominated EMISE with a low conductivity of 0.06 S/m. Further continuous hot pressing on these porous films results in thinner and denser films whose specific EMISE reaches an astonishing value of 6794.9 dB/cm. This in situ self-assembly of FCNT during the DPC process achieving the directional distribution of fillers in the prepared porous films initiates a novel approach for fabricating materials with advanced EMISE.

Transparent conductors (TCs) are applied in electromagnetic interference shielding and transparent electronic heaters due to their superior optoelectronic performance. Herein, a bio-template-based self-assembly strategy for silver nanowires (AgNWs) is employed to create novel “island-like” AgNW cluster morphologies, distinguishing from traditional random or circular shapes of AgNWs on PEN substrate. The unique structure ensures multidimensional pathways for free electron migration while concentrating visible light channels. Utilizing ultrasonic spray coating, AgNW random networks cover the clusters, bridge inter-cluster gaps, and ensure outstanding optoelectronic performance. Employing patterned self-assembled AgNWs combined with random networks marks a pioneering approach to achieving precise tunable electromagnetic interference shielding efficiency (EMI SE) in the X-band and optical transmittance, accommodating the diverse needs of various environments. The composite structure, featuring bottomed AgNW clusters and topped AgNW random networks (CRS), displays high transmittance with single-layer coating, achieving a remarkable figure of merit (FoM) of 15,481 (T@550 nm = 99.90%, Rs = 25.26 Ω/sq). This configuration also provides EMI shielding of 20.04 dB in the X-band, meeting commercial standards. Additional layers enhance the CRS films’ optoelectronic stability accompanied by tunable EMI shielding and excellent Joule heating performance.

Magnetite@poly-p-phenylenediamine (Fe3O4@PpPD) composite modified with salicylaldehyde (SA) was fabricated as adsorbent to remove Mn (VII) from wastewater. The Fe3O4microspheres endow the adsorbent with the ability of rapid solid–liquid separation. The PpPD with acid and alkali resistance can protect Fe3O4from corrosion while introducing a large amount of N atoms to adsorb Mn (VII). The introduction of SA increases the specific surface area and adsorption sites of the adsorbent. The effects of pH, time and temperature on the adsorption process were studied. At pH = 2, the maximum adsorption capacity (Q) is as high as 148.34 mg g−1, which is attributed to the complexation/chelation and electrostatic interaction between amino and hydroxyl groups and Mn (VII). It is found that the adsorption process conforms to the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir isotherm model. Thermodynamics studies demonstrate that the adsorption is a spontaneous endothermic process. After four adsorption cycle tests, the adsorption capacity losses only 1%. Moreover, high adsorption efficiency in river water and mixed metal ions’ solution prove that the prepared Fe3O4@PpPD-SA composite possesses excellent Q in removing Mn (VII).
