New experimental data for CO2solubility in the aqueous solutions of N-methyldiethanolamine (MDEA) and 1-butylpyridinium tetrafluoroborate ([Bpy][BF4]) ionic liquid (IL) are reported. The experiments were conducted in a static high pressure equilibrium cell. Solubility measurement of CO2was performed in various solution compositions of IL and MDEA in a wide temperature range of 298.15–343.15 K and pressures up to 4 MPa. The experimental results revealed that, by increasing the weight percent of IL, the absorption capacity of aqueous mixtures diminishes. It was also observed that the main capacity of CO2loading in the absorbent solutions belonged to MDEA through chemical absorption, whereas its concentration was more effective than IL in gas solubility. The experimental results are correlated using a semiempirical model with good accuracy.

Runtime monitoring for a hyperproperty is aimed at giving a verdict of satisfaction or violation on the whole system under monitoring, and not on its individual execution traces. Indeed, a monitor for a hyperproperty should naturally be able to observe prefixes of several different traces of the system and establish the relationships among them at run time. The traces of nonterminating systems, however, are of infinite length, and the monitor cannot normally observe anything other than the prefixes of only one single running trace. In this paper, we study the feasibility of monitoring nonterminating systems against hyperproperties. To do so, we introduce single-trace monitorability as a novel conception of a monitorable hyperproperty, and illustrate that the members of only one particular, small class of hyperproperties are monitorable if no prior knowledge about the system under monitoring is available. The concept of single-trace monitorability is then generalized to the environments where the monitor has access to an under/over-approximation of the set of the traces that may occur at run time. We investigate the closure properties of the set of monitorable hyperproperties given an approximation, and study the relationships among the proposed notions of monitorability.

Tissue edema and endothelial barrier dysfunction as observed in sepsis and acute lung injury carry high morbidity and mortality, but currently lack specific therapy. In a recent case report, we described fast resolution of pulmonary edema on treatment with the tyrosine kinase inhibitor imatinib through an unknown mechanism. Here, we explored the effect of imatinib on endothelial barrier dysfunction and edema formation.
