Studies have shown that 21-day dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) with aspirin and clopidogrel reduced the risk of recurrent cerebral infarction in minor acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients at the first 90 days, but also increased the risk of bleeding, especially after the 7th day of DAPT.The results of this manuscript entitled "A comparison of safety and efficacy between long-term DAPT and intensive statins combined with short-term DAPT for acute ischemic stroke" showed that compared with 21-day DAPT, intensive rosuvastatin plus 7-day DAPT significantly reduced the risk of bleeding without increasing recurrent cerebral infarction in mild to moderate AIS patients.
