This article discusses patriarchy and sexuality portrayed in Milk and Honey; a poetry collection written by Canadian author Rupi Kaur. Kaur is an amazing poet, artist, and performer who touches on trauma, feminism, migration, love, and loss in her works. Milk and Honey is a unique book of poetry as it combines written poetry with line art images. The collection is split into four chapters: "the hurting," "the loving," "the breaking," and "the healing." This research aims to show how the illustrations that appear alongside the poems have amplified the speaker's voice in response to patriarchy and sexuality. This study deployed a descriptive, qualitative approach with close textual analysis. The illustrations are highly meaningful in how they intimately depict women's bodies. Thus, these poems were analyzed within the framework of feminist literary criticism. Existing research will be considered to define the terms of the study and enrich discussion of patriarchy and women's issues. The results show that patriarchal traditions portrayed in the poems deem women as inferior, marginalizing them in a family setting (as a mother and daughter), in the setting of romantic or intimate relationships, and even in the social and economic environment due to cultural norms. It is also revealed that women and their sexuality functioned as recreational objects for males' pleasure. Within the text, women are expected to be sexually submissive, thus prone to sexual abuse in a patriarchal society. However, the speaker consistently expresses her stance against these patriarchal values throughout all chapters of this poetry collection. In conclusion, this work criticizes patriarchy and its treatment of sexuality by presenting the speaker's experiences of patriarchy while also taking a stand against it through poems and illustrations. The article analyzes two versions of feminine nihilism in the French-speaking Canada: Nelly Arcan, especially in her posthumous book, Burqa de chair, and Catherine Mavrikakis, in two of her novels, Deuils cannibales et mélancoliques and La ballade d'Ali Baba. By emphasizing the terms mélanomanie and néantisme, the headliners of the "professors of despair" in the homonymous book by Nancy Huston, my text defends the idea that the story-telling operation specific to the search for the "great novel" in La ballade d'Ali Baba is capable, through its reiteration of nomadism, cosmopolitanism and a "poisoned narrative", to overcome the nihilism inherent to the solipsistic writings of Nelly Arcan. It reports that psychological novels are also works of prose fiction that draws upon contemporary Atwootheories and one such theory is the trauma theory. It mentions that Atwood was the first writer in Canada to address gender issues later she widened her perspective.

The article reports on the evolution of intertextual networks in contemporary Quebecois literature. It is said that the phenomenon of intertextuality is either used as a literary technique or as a technique through which one studies literary works. The phenomenon contradicts Bulgarian-French philosopher Julia Kristeva's conception that all texts are fundamentally intertextual.

A literary criticism of the book "The Stone Angel" by Margaret Laurence is presented. Topics include demonstrates theme of survival, that is main point to the development of Canadian literary identity; and considered it as pathetic tale of narrator and protagonist, Hagar Shipley who wanders in wilderness and undertakes a halting, unwilling, rebellious journey towards self-knowledge.

The novel Life of Pi is a Canadian fantasy adventure novel, written by Yann Martel. He was exposed to many different cultures as a child, something that would show in his works, later in life. The novel Life of Pi won him the "Man Booker" prize in 2002. The novel Life of Pi is all about an Indian boy Pi and his survival at sea with only a tiger as his companion on a life boat. This paper describes and discusses the isolation of Myra Salya in the short story by Alice Munro. The paper discusses also the life style of human beings. The oppression and suffering of Myra because of isolation were like a man living in fire and this way of life is lived by the protagonist in this short story. This isolation is also made because of her appearance which makes her to stand far from others and also that gives a great way of loneliness in her life. The character faces more suffering through loneliness. Isolation (loneliness) will also show the wisdom and understanding of human relationship. Protagonist was able to face the isolation in this story. Isolation, at times can bring liberation. Margaret Laurence is a short-story writer and an essayist of Canadian literature. She is one of the major novelists in Canadian literature. She is well-known for her Manawaka novels- The Stone Angel (1964), A Jest of God (1966), The Fire-Dwellers (1969) and The Diviners (1972), which are the classics of Canadian literature. Margaret Laurence has given much importance to the portrayal of background in her novels. The archetypal Canadian grassland town Manawaka, acts as a background for her novels and it has a close resemblance to Neepawa, Manitoba where Margaret Laurence was born. It acts as a seminal control over the lives of all the major female protagonists in these novels. Initially, Manawaka values are considered as emotional repression, but during the course of their lives, they do recognize the Manawaka values. The novelist uses Manawaka as an essential perception to demonstrate the negative and harmful influences of a place that figure prominently in the personality of her characters for several generations. The present paper examines The Stone Angel and the existence of its vital character Hagar Shipley, who at the age of ninety observes that her being is shaped by Manawaka. Her personality is being influenced by the Manawakan values. At the last stage of her life she accepts the role of the reformer setting in motion the reorganizing of her independence. The author introduces the issue focusing on the theme of French-Canadian literature since 2000.

Atwood has written fiction about the future. Starting with The Handmaid's Tale, she has written five novels which come under that category. They are, apart from the aforementioned novel, Oryx and Crake, The Year of the Flood, Maddaddam and The Heart Goes Last. She, as most of the readers of Canadian literature know, is an ardent lover of nature, which maybe because she has come from a family which was living "in and out of the bushes". (Cooke 22) Her father was a zoologist, mother a former dietician and nutritionist, and her brother is a neurophysiologist. Her fiction comes with harsh tone, instructing society to move onto safer sides in order to avoid devastating effects in the future. "Environmental awareness became an explicit theme in Atwood's fiction during the late 1980s". (Cooke 291) Starting from this period, she has produced a lot of works that are environment-conscious. These could be attributed to her visit to many places including Temagami in Toronto, where she came across acid-rain lakes and found out about the disappearance of black flies. In the twentieth century, writers like George Orwell and Anthony Burgess were pushed by the social and political scenes of the time which made them bring out their fears and write about them. George Orwell's 1984 is one such fiction where he satirizes such a muddled society. "Being deprived of free will and choice the individual has to obey and to live in this devastating environment. Dystopian literature refers mostly to the decadence of people reflected in acts of violence, sexual immorality and use of drugs. The protagonists indulge themselves in sin living only in the present". (Dima-Laza 42) Many novels of Margaret Atwood including The Heart Goes Last, Yevgeny Zamyatin's We, Cormac McCarthy's The Road and many other novels of various writers have a dystopian society as their settings.
