Le télaprévir, dont la commercialisation a été interrompue, avait obtenu une autorisation de mise sur le marché en combinaison avec l’interféron pégylé (IFN-peg) et la ribavirine pour le traitement de l’hépatite C chronique. Des éruptions cutanées et quelques cas isolés de réactions cutanées sévères ont été rapportés sous cette combinaison thérapeutique.

Corrosive esophagogastric lesions are common in Algeria and France. Within the past 14 years, our overall mortality has decreased to 6% as compared to 12% in the best results from elsewhere. This report describes our operative experience with 68 patients from 1974 to 1982. According to a prospective interdisciplinary program, lesions in 351 patients were staged by emergency esophagoscopic findings: Stage I, ulceration; Stage II, hemorrhage and ulceration; Stage III, mucosal necrosis, hemorrhage, and ulceration. Total parenteral nutrition or jejunal feeding was given to patients with Stage II lesions for 3 weeks and to those with Stage III lesions for 3 months before repeat esophagoscopy. Operations were required by 68 patients who had Stage III lesions and severe stenosis. Procedures done included 39 retrosternal colon interpositions, 11 partial or total gastrectomies, nine esophagogastrectomies, four esophagoenteral colonic bypasses, six esophagogastric colonic interpositions following partial gastric resection, and one gastrojejunostomy. Eleven of the cervical anastomoses were to the pharynx. There were no operative deaths and no anastomotic leaks. All patients have satisfactory nutrition and rehabilitation. Our operative experience in the preceding 5 years included an 11% mortality; improved results in the past 8 years are attributed to early and accurate staging, planned multidisciplinary management, good nutritional support, and better timing of operations. Stage III esophagogastric corrosive lesions may be treated within 4 to 5 months of injury with low mortality and good functional outcome.

Magneto-optical analysis was performed on YBa2Cu3O7??/La1?xSrxMnO3bilayers grown on twinned LaAlO3substrates. The twin boundaries in the LaAlO3substrate induced splitting of the manganite magnetic domains with either in-plane or out-of-plane magnetization, depending on the strontium doping level affecting the magnetic pattern. In the YBa2Cu3O7??film, the spontaneous vortex phase, as induced by the out-of-plane magnetic moments in the manganite films, was directly visualized. For vortices nucleated by an external magnetic field, we distinguished different vortex dynamics due to the out-of-plane magnetic moments located either in correlated defects (twin boundaries) or in a homogeneous part of the heterostructure. Vortex guidance over the magnetic domains, dependent only on the relative orientation of the vortex driving force with respect to the local out-of-plane magnetization in the manganite layer, was observed. By means of the inversion of the Biot-Savart law, the local modulations of the supercurrent by the spontaneous vortex phase were imaged. Moreover, a local enhanced/depressed critical current was found across domains of opposite magnetic polarization.

This paper reports on 4.2 GeV Au ion irradiation of YBCO coplanar resonators aimed at controlling vortex-induced microwave dissipation and nonlinearity by means of a suitable distribution of columnar defects. Two procedures were used: (i) uniform irradiation at a given dose and (ii) non-uniform irradiation, obtained by means of a moving-target technique, producing a tailored profile of columnar defect density. The last configuration is needed in order to attain an optimal compromise between defect-induced enhancement of vortex pinning and increase of dissipative scattering. The resonators were characterized before and after irradiation in order to evaluate penetration depth and surface impedance, by means of a data analysis also suitable to account for the substrate properties. It turns out that in the case of uniform irradiation the induced damage, attributed to the addition of dissipative regions, always prevails over the improvement due to vortex pinning. In contrast, in the case of the tailored dose profile, significant damage is absent, while the onset of non-linearity is shifted towards higher circulating power. The need to control vortex-induced effects is confirmed by magneto-optical analysis that puts in evidence that vortex penetration occurs even at low values of transverse dc magnetic field and temperature.

In the present work, five composting facilities have been examined for odor abatement efficiency of the gaseous emissions control devices, mainly scrubbers and biofilters. A correlation between olfactory nuisance and chemical composition was tried, using for the chemical analysis the same samples collected for the olfactometric experiments. The odor units were determined by the dynamic method (olfactometer). For the chemical analysis, the volatile organic compounds were first enriched by gas-solid adsorption and analyzed by gas chromatography-flame ionization detection and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The results evidenced the role of limonene as masking agent and the discontinuous performance of the biofilters. The formation of sesquiterpenes as by-products of limonene biodegradation was highlighted.

Because of the upsurge of interest in polychlorobuta-1,3-diene derivatives as uncommon contaminants in underground water, seven congeners, the three pentachloro- and four tetrachloro- [(Z)- and (E)-1,1,3,4-tetrachloro-, 1,1,4,4-tetrachloro- and (Z,Z)-1,2,3,4-tetrachloro]buta-1,3-dienes, were synthesized and their ¹H and ¹³C NMR chemical shifts, ⁿJ(¹H,¹H) and ⁿJ(¹³C,¹H) coupling constants were measured. The ¹³C NMR spectra were recorded in perdeuteroacetone with and without proton decoupling. In addition, to assign the ¹³C NMR spectrum of 1,1,2,4,4-pentachlorobuta-1,3-diene, a 2D-INADEQUATE ¹³C experiment was performed. The present results were compared with literature data on organochlorine compounds and possible conformations are discussed. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

La tendance élevée à saigner des MAV profondes est l’argument clé pour proposer un traitement agressif à ces patients. Les MAV touchant les ganglions de la base, le centre semi-ovale et le mésencéphale sont souvent considérés comme une seule entité dans la littérature.

La maladie de Moya-Moya est une pathologie caractérisée par la sténose progressive de la partie supraclinoïdienne de l’artère carotide interne ainsi que des artères cérébrales antérieure et moyenne. L’épargne de l’artère ophtalmique lui permet de développer des anastomoses vasculaires avec des branches à destinée parenchymateuse afin de maintenir de la perfusion cérébrale. L’analyse anatomique de ces anastomoses naturelles n’est pas décrite dans la littérature.

La présence d’un reflux veineux cortical dans le cadre d’une fistule carotido-caverneux (FCC) est possible et considérée comme un critère de traitement urgent. Ce reflux est souvent retrouvé pour des FCC traumatiques/directes et le haut débit de ces fistules explique à lui seul la présence d’un reflux veineux. Par contre, pour les FCC indirectes, la patho-physiologie d’un reflux veineux cortical n’est pas claire.
