Abstract: Natural human α-interferon and Sindbis α-virus induce production of 1-interferon mRNA in human fibroblasts. Accumulation and regulation of 1-interferon mRNA splicing after induction with α-interferon and virus were different. Expression of the 1-interferon gene was assessed by conjugated reverse transcription and polymerase chain reaction (semiquantitative variant).

A rational method of determining the concentration of iron(III) and aluminum(III) simultaneously present in softened water using xylenol orange as the reagent was selected. Metrological certification of the methods of executing the measurements was performed. The effect of the concentration of Al and Fe in the water on tinting of viscose textile fibre was established and standards for the concentration of these elements in softened water were elaborated.

The proposed extraction-photometric procedure for determining elemental sulfur content using dodecanes as the extractant and with purification of the extracts from surface-active substances with aluminum oxide can be used to determine elemental sulfur content in precipitation baths of viscose manufacture within the range from 10 to 60 mg/dm3 or higher, and also for the analysis of precipitation bath sludges.

In the accelerated method of determining the free alkali content of viscose, the operations of separating the cellulose xanthate and of oxidizing the sulfur-containing impurities with potassium ferricyanide are eliminated.

The paper is concerned with the analysis of heavy metal content in soils depending on the distance from the considered source of pollution of Magnitogorsk and its suburbs. It was found that the main investigated heavy metals polluting soils are zinc, lead and copper. The main objective of this research work is to carry out the analysis of heavy metal content dynamics in soil from 2014 to 2017 taking into account environmental protection measures taken within the frame of the environmental program of the PJSC MMK. The slagheap of the III order located in the North of the city on the left-bank valley side of the river Ural was considered as the source of pollution. The research group calculated the following characteristic values: the total pollution index of soils and the ecotoxicological index of chemical pollution of soils with pollutants of different classes of hazard.

The paper proposes a method for processing steelmaking slag for the purpose of resource saving. The authors propose to include partial granulation of steelmaking slag in the processing scheme. This embodiment includes draining of molten slag from the steelmaking unit in the bucket and separation of the molten slag into two parts, one of which is enriched in iron. With the use of statistical processing dependence for determination of content of FeO content in the converter slag was received. The resulting granulated product can be recommended for use in construction, in agriculture as a fertilizer, as well as a slag-forming flux in steelmaking.
