1. The Sequence of Myodegeneration in Nutritional Myopathy of the Older Calf

Abstract

Calves between 6 and 16months of age were housed for at least four months and then turned out to pasture. Raised plasma CPK activity suggested acute myodegeneration and this was confirmed by histological examination of a biopsy of the proximal part of the biceps femoris muscle. Two apparently distinct myodegenerative episodes are described.
