The article presents a study on the effects of the life histories and ecological traits of different fish species in marine reserves. The study shows that there are variations of responses of different species to protection such as increase in population densities and maximum body size for commercial species and non obligate schoolers, and the opposite effect on non commercial species. It shows that the effect of marine reserves to fish vary with economic value, body size, and schooling behavior
