The Banking Control Law j 966 (BCL 1966) is a key piece of the Saudi banking regulatory regime. Since its enactment just under 60 years ago it has seen little amendment. This is notwithstanding the fact that the banking and finance industry in Saudi has changed substantially during that period. In recognition of this fact the Saudi Central Bank (known as SAMA as it was formerly called the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority), is of the view that there is an urgent need to update the current banking regulatory regime to rejlect the developed state of the banking and. finance sector and to keep pace with international developments and practices. On 26 January 2023, SAMA released a draft of the new banking law (DBL 2023). It contains some of the most substantial changes to the BCL 1966 since its inception. This article discusses the proposed changes and their origin in Saudi Vision 2030. During the past two decades, digital played a prominent role in bringing about tangible development in several fields, especially banking. As it provided new opportunities for entrepreneurship and promoted creativity and innovation activities, and was adopted as a tool to confront financial crises. A sample of individuals working in commercial banks listed in the Iraq Stock Exchange was selected. The coefficient of determination (R2 ) and least squares modeling were used to test the hypotheses of the study and using the statistical programs (SPSS), (SMART PLS).A set of conclusions has been reached, including the existence of a significant negative effect of digital finance in financial crises. The term "financial inclusion" implies access and use of banking services (current account, savings account, insurance, credit, payments, etc.) at a low cost for the disadvantaged and low-income population in a country. In fact, banking services constitute a public good. It is therefore necessary that the accessibility and equitable use of banking services by the entire population should be among the primary objectives of government policies and financial institutions. Indeed, this helps to meet the basic financial needs of the population in any given country. Amid the ongoing US-China trade war, China is accelerating the process to open the financial sector wider to foreign investment. This article provides a brief commentary on Singapore's Islamic banking regulations through the contextual analysis of Banking Regulation 2001 (c. 19) reg. 4 and the Monetary Authority of Singapore's Guidelines on the Application of Banking Regulations to Islamic Banking (2009). As in Singapore, a single regulatory framework applicable to both conventional and Islamic banking, the Guidelines therefore provide an important guidance on the operational aspects of how to offer Islamic banking products. The focus on the present paper is on the strategic use of terms, expressions of English origin (anglicisms) in the process of advertising certain banking services on the online Romanian banking market. The reasons for the presence of English terms can vary from necessity in the case when a term is too international so as not to be mentioned in the respective advertising message to the touch of prestige that a term/expression can give to the content in which they appear. Although it may seem a very ambitious objective, taking into account the fact that this issue has been far too little tackled upon, by means of this article we are trying to raise awareness of the impact that the presence (or in some cases the abundance) of such English terms may ultimately have upon (Romanian) bank clients as well as to offer variants of translation of several banking anglicisms that have "comfortable" Romanian correspondents. The theoretical background of our research is supported by a large number of Romanian banking advertising messages that can be found on the websites of the respective banks. In order to obtain the "pulse" of the bank customer market we have chosen to survey 200 1st year students within the Bucharest University of Economic Studies on the use of English terms in online advertisements of student programmes and bank cards offered by nine important banks in Romania. Ultimately, we think that the great merit of our research is that it manages to signal and study the subliminal and very delicate, but potentially beneficial connection between Romanian banking businesses and the linguistic implications of their online advertising messages containing English terms/expressions. Access to banking services for the poorest individuals is key to reducing their vulnerability, but are poor people likely to seek help from bank advisors? This study tests the hypothesis that poor peoples' financial concerns affect their willingness to seek professional financial advice from banks. A survey experiment is run by performing "hard priming" (a €2000 car repair expense) on a treatment group and "soft priming" (a €200 expense) on a control group. Overall, hard priming triggers higher positive intention to consult a bank advisor. However, poverty sharply and negatively moderates this effect. For respondents below the poverty line, the priming effect is close to significantly negative and becomes such when restricting the sample to individuals who responded before their payday rather than after it. Hard priming also decreases poor people's self-reported trust in banks, and this variable mediates the negative effect on intention to consult a bank advisor. The purpose of this paper is to study the status of financial literacy among small scale entrepreneurs (SSEs) in a small district of Tamil Nadu state in India. The study is based on factors influencing small scale entrepreneurs to know about financial services; the problems faced by SSE while availing financial services; their satisfaction towards banking services; and appropriate measures to be taken for improving financial literacy among SSEs. The study implemented a mixed methodology research design using both qualitative and quantitative methods. A survey was conducted among 150 selected small scale entrepreneurs using convenient sampling technique. The results of Garrett Ranking Technique showed that majority of respondents are influenced by knowledge about financial products, followed by knowledge of financial numeracy, money management, budgeting, timely payment of bills, intensity to save, propensity to consume, risk aversion and trusted financial advice. Results of Chi-Square test revealed that the demographic profiles are not significantly related to the problems of the SSEs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study examined the access to, and use of bank services in Nigeria using data from the World Bank Household Survey (2011) on financial inclusion. A framework was developed to situate the decision of individuals towards financial services in Nigeria. We examined three dependent variables – use of bank services, use of the account to save and frequency of bank withdrawals. Today brands and branding have gained a lot of attention among academics and practitioners as well, since they are considered crucial for the success of a company. The branding literature, however, has been more focused on goods branding, relatively neglecting the services branding. Branding equity in services, as an important concept of services branding, also has not received the deserved attention from academics and services companies' managers.The study aims to measure the brand equity in services sector, since brand equity is very important for monitoring of the health of services brands. It has been focused in the banking sector, a well-developed and consolidated sector which employs hundreds of individuals and has a very important role in Albanian economy. Nine banks, which make up more than 98 per cent of the domestic market in banking services (according to the official data of the Bank of Albania), were chosen to be included in the study. 250 bank customers were interviewed, using direct interviews. After an extensive literature review about the branding and services branding, seven measures were chosen and used to measure the services brand equity. The findings of the study gave interesting insights about services branding equity and services branding in general. Following the model of European Banks, the Romanian banks adopted new marketing and promoting strategies for their products and services. If by the year 2000 the banks were concerned with creating a solid image and gaining reliability in a still unknown field, in recent years the Romanian banking market has boosted, supporting a continuous innovation of banking products. If so far marketing strategies have contributed to the development of the banking domain, at present and after the financial crisis, banks that will come out triumphant will be those that have adopted strategies aiming at building a strong brand and proximity to customers. Presently, addressability refers not only to individual financial interests of the customer, but also to its social and moral interests, aiming at a more profound dimension that allows the bank to customize a different relationship with the client. To promote banking products and services, banks can use advertising (exterior or direct), promotional and personal selling, public relations, sponsorship etc., as a means of communication. The evolution of banking products has required a new approach to marketing and promoting strategies. This marks the beginning of a new era in the banking world, the era of digital banking. The article discusses the issues surrounding the definition of banking business in the Banking Act and the need for its amendment to reflect the reality of modern banking practice in Singapore. It states that banking business is the collection of money by receiving deposits upon loan and repayable when expressly agreed upon. It suggests that the definition of banking must be amended to reflect the central role that banks play in most of the payment systems.

New, competitive market conditions, where companies need to fight for their survival, rendered evident that building and managing relationships with customers is vital. At the basis of every long term relationship lies the customer satisfaction. In the service area the construct of satisfaction is bound to the interaction with the service provider, conferring to the evaluation even greater importance. Consumers do differ in the evaluation of value between products and services. This study aims to identify the perceived value dimensions as functional and relational value to investigate the relationship between each dimension of perceived value with the future intention and also to examine the commitment as a mediator role between multi dimensions of perceived value and future intention. Factor analysis indicated six dimensions of perceived value as functional service quality, functional service price, functional service value, relational confidence and relational communication. Step wise regressions analysis further observed that functional service value, functional service quality, relational confidence and relational communications are the better predictors to the future intention. Among these dimensions, relational confidence is fully mediated by the commitment, and leads to future intention. The article discusses the Monetary Authority of Singapore's issuance of a Payment Blocking Order which takes effect on April 17, 2015 and imposes obligations on financial institutions (FIs) in relation to Relevant Persons such as FI account holders. Singapore's Remote Gambling Act 2014 is mentioned, along with the regulation of merchant banks and finance companies in the country. Development of rural areas represents a priority for the European Union which has elaborated a series of strategies for sustainable rural development. In this respect, commercial banks can also be involved in the sustenance and development of rural areas, which can transform into new and attractive customer markets for banks (Kirschner, 2005). The existence of a modem IT banking system provides a high-quality management of complex banking services and products in rural areas as well as a quick and efficient customer service (Stanciu, 2004). Some of the modem and complex banking products and services are listed below: * Private banking services which provide banking information about customers' accounts, electronic payments and various operations within customers' accounts; * Interact banking, Home banking, Mobile banking, Telephone banking, etc. * Direct debit and Standing Order, which enable the customers from rural areas to make payments of utilities directly to their bank accounts; * bank cards, global instruments for payment, cash withdrawal; * bank credits destined for various categories of customers from rural areas; * speciality services of banking counselling and consultancy. Apart from banking services offered, some commercial banks have been actively involved in the life of the rural community. Bankpost, for example, in the period 2006-2007 continued its social mission, being involved in financial sustenance of various cultural, educational, environmental and tourist potential projects.
