The article offers information about legal costs for litigants in Canada with a focus on the court case R. v. Caron. Topics include the history of interim costs in Canada in public interest litigation, the issue of jurisdiction,and the court case British Columbia (Minister of Forests) v. Okanagan Indian Band. It is suggested that access to justice is related to the requirement for interim costs in the litigation.
