A proposal to change the conserved type of Ipomoea was published in December 2020, and recommended by the Nomenclature Committee in 2023. This was done in the light of the possible negative consequences for a name change in the crop sweetpotato, which risk our proposal would significantly minimize. Recently, Muñoz‐Rodríguez & al. have published a rebuttal to this proposal, which we respond to here. The objections raised by these authors focus as much on the expertise and credibility of our group of authors as on the merits of our arguments. In this "rebuttal to the rebuttal", we respond to the scientific questions raised, highlight demonstrated misinterpretation of the specialised literature relevant to this discussion and counter the assertion that a reclassification of Ipomoeeae is impossible given existing evidence. While the currently recognised genera of Ipomoeeae are not all monophyletic, the proposal to change the conserved type of Ipomoea is a necessary step that will allow exploring an improved classification for the tribe Ipomoeeae, either in the form of a better recircumscription of the genera or an efficient infrageneric classification for Ipomoea. Previously published literature has not advocated for the integration of all genera into a single genus, as Muñoz‐Rodríguez and co‐authors have incorrectly suggested, and instead have recommended a reanalysis of the high morphological diversity of the group in the context of expanded phylogenetic studies, with the possible maintenance of some of the existing genera. We believe that, in a concerted collaborative approach and with the contribution of experts from different regions and scientific backgrounds, an improved classification of Ipomoeeae that integrates the principles of monophyly and diagnosability may soon be achieved, and until when some uncertainty may need to be accommodated, with the added reassurance that, regardless of the direction of future systematic rearrangements, the stability of the scientific name of sweetpotato would be preserved. Article 197(1) of Law no. 8/1996 on copyright and related rights, republished, criminally sanctions the appropriation of a work or part of a work by a person who has not contributed to the creation of that work and who presents it as his/her own creation. The act of appropriating a work or part of a work can be done in various ways, such as: publishing works under one's own name, as if it were made by the author, signing an intellectual creation, as co-author, in the literary, scientific, musical, artistic or fine art field without having any contribution to its creation, etc. Analysis of the legal text shows that the material element of this offense consists of two cumulative actions, namely the act of appropriating, without right, in whole or in part, the work of another author and the act of presenting it as one's own intellectual creation. At the same time, the analysis of the author of this study shows that in order to be able to prove the commission of this offense it is necessary that the appropriation is followed by the presentation of the work as one's own creation. It should be emphasised that in the absence of the action of presentation, it cannot be held that the offense provided for and punished by art. 197(1) of Law 8/1996 on copyright and related rights, republished, has been committed. In higher education, international research collaboration functions as a visible mechanism of cooperation and competition, serving as a proxy for quality and academic excellence. Open universities use revolutionary education models but are not often associated with quality or academic excellence. To investigate the impact of international research collaboration by active researchers affiliated with open institutions, a bibliometrics analysis was conducted of three open universities and nine traditional, comparative universities between 2000 and 2022. The results indicate that research outputs that are open access, sponsored and funded, and developed with international coauthors have positive and statistically significant effects on citation counts. Moreover, international research collaboration significantly affects all universities, not just open institutions. The results conclude that researchers affiliated with open universities are only 4.3% less cited than their comparative peers, which is attributed to publication factors, research disciplines and subject areas, and journal characteristics. Findings are discussed and imply a strategic shift in the institutional functions and outputs of open universities as collaborative conduits of knowledge production and dissemination. Throughout the period of pandemic, many studies have been conducted on emergency remote teaching (ERT) in different fields and from different perspectives, which reveal that there has been a lack of a comprehensive map showing the rapid and continuous responses of these studies to the process. The purpose of this research is to analyze open access research on ERT using bibliometric method, and to reveal current trends in this field. VOSviewer software was used for data analysis; the data collection process was shaped using the PRISMA framework. 238 studies were included in the analysis. The distribution of the open access studies analyzed in the field of emergency remote teaching by year, type of publication, subject, country, and sources was examined; citation analysis (by journal and publication), authorship patterns and collaboration, common word analyses are included. It was found out that these open access publications mainly consisted of journal articles and were dated 2020 and 2021; most of the publications were in the field of educational sciences. Based on common word analysis, the most important topics that are addressed in studies on the ERT process are the process of pandemic, distance education and higher education, while the challenges experienced regarding teachers and pedagogic issues during the process, teacher education, student-related characteristics (such as self-regulated learningmotivation-academic success) and participation are found to be frequently studied topics. The concepts of instructional design, collaborative learning, social presence, and assessment are also among the topics covered. It is anticipated that the implications for policy and practice based on the examination of research trends will have a significant effect on the structuring of future online learning environments, as well as the ERT designed for emergencies. Friendship rewards us with a bond of loyalty and equality. The marketplace rewards us based on what we have to offer. When friends work together to create something, and when the market judges their creation to have value, this sets up a clash between realms. Should the pie of profits be sliced according to the values of friendship or the values of the marketplace? The answer matters for policymakers concerned with creative incentives. How satisfied people are with their monetary rewards can turn more on how much others are getting--their relative rewards--than on the absolute amount received. Nevertheless, it is the latter that has been the focus of empirical legal studies casting doubt on the central premise of copyright law--money motivates creative output. But relative rewards have not been addressed. This Article closes the gap, making three contributions that advance empirical research on copyright law and the psychology of creative incentives. First, I present empirical evidence of a link between creators' relative rewards and the quality of creative output, providing support for the incentive theory of copyright law. Second, I argue that the joint authorship rule on license proceeds is an area of copyright law that gets creative incentives right. Third, my findings suggest the cross-industry uniformity of copyright law's approach to relative rewards is leaving value on the table. I identify a certain social context--prior friendship--as an important predictor of creators' relative reward preferences that can inform the design of industry-specific incentives. These insights are drawn from regression analyses of a novel dataset built around a creative relationship central to the music industry: songwriting in music groups. The data span sixty years and comprise 1,000 music groups, each of which has earned at least one Gold Record. The first study reveals that groups that share royalties pro rata, even when some members' contributions are small, produce songs that garner more Grammy Awards and earn higher revenue than groups that channel royalties to major contributors. What consideration is outweighing economic self-interest in songwriters' royalty split decisions? The second set of studies identifies a key predictor through a preregistered experiment with over 600 participants and further analysis of the Gold Records dataset. Prior friendship--specifically friends' desire for equal standing with one another--is essential to understanding songwriters' relative reward preference for pro rata splitting. Loyalties trump royalties. My findings suggest that the predominance of prior friendships among collaborating songwriters drives the industry-level equal-splitting norm uncovered in my prior work. The insight that copyright industries differ, in terms of predictable relative reward preferences, supports the viability of an industry-specific approach to joint authorship rules. While predictable, co-songwriters' judgments about fair reward distributions are socially contingent--in stark contrast with a central premise of modern moral and political theory that morality is concerned with values and obligations owed to all persons equally. This suggests some limits on the evidentiary role moral psychology can play in nonutilitarian accounts of authors' rights. These relative reward insights into copyright law's monetary incentives may extend to coinventorship in patent law and beyond intellectual property to corporate ownership structure, such as startup founder equity splits. Engineering plays a pivotal role in tackling the grand societal challenges humanity is facing. It is essential that engineers understand these challenges and realize the impact their solutions have. This means that higher education's task in fostering future engineers as transformation agents is key. In this paper we introduce initial arguments about why engineering programs need to include both sustainability and entrepreneurship as core elements for students to obtain a holistic approach towards humanity's grand societal challenges, along with specific skills, including for example critical thinking and reflection, systemic thinking, building partnerships, and collaborations An overview of the literature shows that independent sustainability and entrepreneurship have been recognized as important for engineering programs, even though the integration of both has yet to be achieved. Furthermore, a first analysis of a sample of engineering programs in Germany confirms what we observed in the literature. It would appear that the time for a transformation of engineering programs has arrived. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article examines Francisco P. Ramírez’s editorial practice of altering reprint poems culled from periodicals, books, and anthologies from across the Hispanophone world and reprinted in Southern California. By isolating El Clamor Público’s poems, mapping their potential citational provenance and place of publication, and comparing reproductions to originals, I show how Ramírez’s reprint practices shaped authorship and genre in his paper. I propose Ramírez’s reprint practices are important examples of the print culture norm of editing reprint poems to centralize the reading public’s interests and experiences. Ramírez’s reprint practices made the poems more understandable to and relevant for a California audience while at the same time facilitating an intellectual and cultural sense of belonging that resists the reproduction of knowledge and aesthetics from a non-California epistemology. In 1936, Elvira Theodolinde Bauer, a German kindergarten teacher and would-be graphic artist, wrote and illustrated a picturebook that would eventually become a classic of anti-Semitic children's literature. Entitled Trau keinem Fuchs auf grüner Heid und keinem Jud bei seinem Eid! [Trust neither a fox on a green heath nor a yid upon his oath!]1 (Bauer 1936), the work was published and distributed by the infamous Nazi propagandist and publisher Julius Streicher--the Führer of Franken and the producer of the incendiary anti-Semitic weekly, Der Stürmer. After providing historical background on Streicher, Bauer, and the poisonous fruit of their literary collaboration, this article examines how character names in Trau keinem Fuchs were used to plant misinformation about and sow hatred against Jewish people living in the Reich. As this article also shows, by utilizing the names of real-life victims of Fascism, Bauer's fairy tales effectively blurred the line between fact and fiction for adult and child readers alike. The article ends with a discussion of the urgent need for more research into the ways hate groups, past and present, use names to indoctrinate new members, both great and small. Scientometrics has found many applications in describing, explaining and predicting the scientific status of researchers, educational and research groups, universities, organizations and countries in various national and international arenas. By studying the scientific products of different countries, their status in the production of science can be evaluated. Present study was conducted using a scientometrics approach and using co-word analysis and social network analysis (SNA) to investigate relationships in the field of knowledge organization. In this regard, research indexed in web of science on the topic of "knowledge organization" has been analyzed using software including VOSviewer, Gephi, Publish or Perish. The findings of the study show that the most frequently used topics and words are knowledge organization and classification. Also, the most valuable subject areas were identified based on the maps drawn using the closeness and centrality of indexes, taxonomy, ontology and knowledge organization systems. Co-authorship analysis revealed that the co-authorship network is discrete and has low-density, with a total of 12,491 citations in all articles. Also, the most prolific author is Hjorland, followed by Smiraglia and Dahlberg. using the co-word map of knowledge organization, policymakers can plan appropriately through the knowledge of the research and thematic status of knowledge organization. Jessica Buchanan, an American aid worker, was kidnapped by Somali pirates and held captive for 93 days. She endured deplorable conditions and a near-starvation diet while being guarded by armed men. Despite the rampant sexual assault, Buchanan was miraculously never assaulted. The FBI, U.S. government, hostage negotiators, and Buchanan's family worked tirelessly to negotiate her release, but ultimately a rescue operation by Navy SEAL Team Six was authorized by President Obama. Buchanan has since written a bestselling book about her experience and continues to work with other women to help them share their stories and process their own traumas. [Extracted from the article]

Event Management is a well-established international journal in event, festival, and culture management, which has published high-quality peer-reviewed research from the last 20 years. The current study represents a retrospective overview of the journal's publication journey over the previous 14 years from 2006 to 2020. This period was chosen due to the availability of data in Scopus. The number of publications and citations received by these publications globally has exhibited continuous growth, which signifies the journal's widespread presence. This article also analyzes the journal's impact, its prominent topics, and its most prolific authors, including their affiliated institutions and countries. The multiple dimensionality scaling analysis initially classified the publications of the journal into five broad clusters: Cluster 1 ("Event Management"), Cluster 2 ("Customer Satisfaction and Service Quality"), Cluster 3 ("Mega-Events"), Cluster 4 ("Legacy Sports"), and Cluster 5 ("Economic Feasibility"). Clusters 4 and 5 are combined into a single cluster to improve the journal coverage. The coauthorship networks among authors, institutions, countries, and keywords unveil the collaboration structure among this journal's contributors. The results of the current study provide useful insights for the potential contributors and global audience of the journal and the editorial board of the journal in terms of emerging topics for research. This article discusses the internationalization of political science, which is analysed from research collaboration carried out by authors who study current issues in political science. Internationalization is essential for political science study programs in non-English speaking countries or those who have just experienced the transition of power towards democracy in their government. Bibliometric analysis conducted on published documents using VOSViewer software shows that internationalization has not yet become an important theme in political science development research, so the formation of collaboration and co-citation networks is limited and still centred in European countries. Much of the student-staff partnership literature calls for increased collaboration and power sharing among staff and students. Less common are accounts by student partners themselves that take up the challenge of what partnership and power feel like as universities embrace their neoliberal trajectory - and - purport to do so on behalf of students themselves. Especially acute is the conundrum of how partnership initiatives can, and do, reproduce the very power dynamics they set out to transform. We are a group of students and staff working in curriculum partnership together at Western Sydney University. The context of our work together is the 21C project, a university-wide strategy to transform curriculum, teaching, and learning, drawing on 'partnership pedagogy'. In this paper, we engage in a process of reflexive inquiry to interrogate a new elective unit that many of us are involved in as advocates, co-creators, as students and staff learning together, and as evaluators, called We are the university: Students co-creating change (WATU). To highlight partnership's intricate power plays, we offer a fictionalised account to reflect our multi-voiced experiences of being involved in WATU. We have come to understand power's simultaneity in partnership as forms of power over, as permission-giving, as sharing (or partnership), and as the power to act (agency). The account is our story of partnership's inevitable contradictions - a collaboration that teaches us about the challenges of working together while being cautious of partnership's transformatory claims. Practitioner Notes 1. How do student-staff partnership initiatives often reproduce the power dynamics they set out to transform 2. How can student-staff partnership initiatives work with power in complex ways How do we attend to power 3. What stories are we trained to tell about our student-staff partnership initiatives? What theories can we draw on to disrupt stories of practice, and how do practices push our theoretical knowledge 4. What are the success criteria of our student-staff partnership initiatives Who sets them 5. In what way does our WATU story led you to rethink a student-staff partnership practice you are involved in. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

• The study uses survey and bibliometric data of German medical faculties. • Whole-counting of authorship is compared with fractional counting on faculty level. • Fractional counting was suggested by the German research foundation (DFG) in 2004. • DFG goal to counteract increasing numbers of co-authors was not achieved. • Medical faculties with whole-counting show higher productivity and citation impact. This article investigates whether German medical faculties with different authorship regulations show different publication patterns. In 2004, the German Research Foundation (DFG) suggested a formula consisting of third-party funding, the cumulated JIF of publications and a fractional counting of publications to counteract the increasing inflation of author counts in medical publications. Whereas the third-party funding and the JIF are generally used in research evaluation without variation, the authorship regulation differs among medical faculties. We therefore compare medical faculties using the DFG model - to credit first and last authors with a higher share than middle authors - with those faculties that apply whole counting. We answer the question whether the faculties with the different counting methods also show different authorship and publication behaviour, i.e., authorship and collaboration patterns, the choice of journals (JIF level) and the citation impact (share of highly-cited papers). Findings indicate a clear trend of increasing co-author numbers and of middle-author papers, irrespective of authorship regulation. Publications with DFG model have only a slightly lower average author count and lower shares of middle-author papers than whole-counted publications. Our findings suggest that the DFG regulation has not resulted in a reduction of the number of authors, which was a major aim. Moreover, the results show that the use of whole counting goes together with higher productivity and higher impact, which may be a good reason to select that model. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This project explores learning and reflection practices in architecture teams. When architects use reflection-on-action, they learn from experience. When they use reflection-in-action, they learn from experiencing. Such reflective practices help architects build project knowledge and deliver their project. But most architects work in teams, alongside individuals with different ways of learning and knowledge perspectives. This begs the question: how does learning and reflective practices affect architecture teams? This project addresses this question by 1) using reflective practice, team learning and design collaboration literature to frame how architects learn as a team; 2) exploring how team learning influence the competitive performance of architecture teams; 3) measuring how team learning affects architecture team performance; and 4) experimenting a reflective workshop to help architects improve their team learning skills and thus, team performance. The report concludes by discussing its theoretical contributions and practical implication in their field of architecture and design. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper aims to measure the extent to which Bangladesh-based Library and Information Science (LIS) researchers have published in leading LIS journals indexed by Web of Science (WoS) and SCOPUS. To answer this question, bibliographic information from LIS publications published in leading bibliographic databases from 1971 to 2020 were examined. Data from 266 LIS publication were collected, compiled and cleaned. VOSviewer software was used to carry out the science mapping of bibliometric networks. From the data it was evidenced that joint authorship and international collaboration have been increasing during this time frame. Authors from 20 countries have published in collaboration with Bangladeshi LIS researchers. Faculty members and the Department of Information Science and Library Management (ISLM) of Dhaka University became the most prolific authors and LIS Department in Bangladesh. The data compiled and findings will benefit current Bangladeshi LIS researchers and practitioners to assess areas of focus by highlighting, what they have, what they lack, and how they could grow to get direction for future research. This paper proposes the Reed-Solomon coded cooperative spatial modulation (RSCC-SM) scheme based on nested construction of two Reed-Solomon (RS) codes over quasi-static Rayleigh fading channel. In this construction, the RS code with larger number of consecutive roots is employed at the relay node while the RS code with less number of consecutive roots is employed at the source node. The RS code with excessive roots at the relay node offers some extra redundancy. The enhanced bit error rate (BER) performance will be obtained if source and relay RS codes are jointly decoded at the destination node. Therefore, the authors propose the joint RS decoding based on two different approaches known as naive approach and smart approach. Monte Carlo simulated results reveal that the proposed RSCC-SM scheme utilizing smart approach not only outperforms its corresponding coded non-cooperative scheme but also outperforms its counterpart RSCCSM scheme employing naive approach under identical conditions. The mass digitization of nineteenth-century periodicals and keyword-based searching algorithms have produced new ways of reading Pauline E. Hopkins in the twenty-first century. Our essay brings an experiment in digital stylistics together with traditional methods of authorial analysis to investigate an unexplored facet of Hopkins's authorship and compositional style. Hopkins is well-known for her penchant for pseudonyms. She contributed many unsigned editorials to the Colored American Magazine, and it was not unusual for issues to feature her work alongside articles and fiction that she penned as Sarah A. Allen and J. Shirley Shadrach. Might Hopkins have also published under other, as yet unattributed pen names? This essay takes as its case study a writer identified as S. E. F. C. C. Hamedoe or Hammedoe, a purported Professor of "F.G.S.I.," who remains one of the most enigmatic of regular Colored American Magazine contributors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aims to explore research collaborations and authorship patterns in the field of semantic digital libraries(SDL). The data is extracted (N=2075) from the Scopus database using keywords related to semantic digital libraries by considering all types of publications during 1983-2019. The analysis of each document is based on the following scientometrics indicators: author productivity, degree of collaboration, collaboration index, collaboration coefficient and modified collaboration coefficient. Correlation matrices were also calculated and inferences drawn in terms of authors and publications. A network visualisation tool VOSviewer was used to present authorship correlation network strength and keyword mapping for a better insight into the emerging areas in the field of SDL. The resulting average degree of collaboration of 0.898 indicates that a large number of publications are multi-authored and that there is a higher level of collaborative research in the field of semantic digital libraries. Meghini C from the Institute of Information Science and Technologies, Italy has produced the highest number of research paper(n=18) whereas Egenhofer MJ found to be a profoundly impacted author with 851 citations on in the studied domain. Results also reveal that the focus areas of research related to SDL include digital libraries, semantic web, ontology, metadata and information retrieval. However, keywords such as natural language processing system, computational linguistics, linked data are also repeated frequently in the published literature, thus revealing the emerging areas of the future research in the domain of SDL. This paper examines the evolution of cinema since its initial paradigms to the present-day experiments where film and neuroscience have joined to give birth to a new form of art - the 'scientific art' of neurocinematics. It looks at the inter- and multidisciplinary exchange between psychology, cognitive sciences, film, neuroscience and neuromarketing, their instruments of research and their input in the creation of neurocinema. The main argument of this article is that neurocinema dismisses classical notions of realism, authorship, film language and signification, to become an instrument of probing and modelling the human mind, emotional response, and behaviour according to specific objectives. In this context, the paper surveys studies highlighting the main cognitive processes involved in film viewing, the benefits and disadvantages of employing neuroimaging techniques in filmmaking, as well as the effects of neurocinematics on spectator's perception, cognition and emotion triggered in the complex dialogical interaction between films and audiences. COPYRIGHT ,AUTHORSHIP collaboration ,AUTHORSHIP ,INTELLECTUAL cooperation - Abstract
Previously, the UK copyright law on joint authorship seemed to be unforgiving to those seen as only minor contributors. Perhaps prioritising legal certainty, some decisions favoured "control" and "responsibility for what actually appears on paper". Others were more holistic, taking account of the skill and effort involved in creative inputs. Recently, in Kogan v Martin, the Court of Appeal of England and Wales clarified the approach to joint authorship. It endorses a flexible, contextual approach. This article examines the background to the case and explains the Court s decision to allow the appeal and order a retrial. It then anticipates some of the challenges which first instance courts may face when attempting to apply the Court of Appeal's guidance in future cases. It concludes that the new guidance better equips courts with the tools needed to engage with the issue of joint authorship and its approach arguably sits better with the harmonised EU standard of originality. Minor contributors to a collaboration are now more likely to be recognised as joint authors of the resulting collaborative work. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

It has often been noted that Aristoxenus applied Aristotle's philosophy of science to his theory of music, as Harmonics I--II presents principles and Harmonics III proofs of some theorems. This reading is rather superficial, however, since it relies on a vague notion of logic. In this paper the author shows: (i) that already in Harmonics I--II, Aristoxenus proves a number of theorems; (ii) that almost all proofs can be syllogistically reconstructed and do not involve inacceptable logical gaps; (iii) that the mathematical proofs are consistent with Aristoxenus's program of an empirical theory of music; and (iv) that Aristoxenus s Rhythmics contains a great number of theorems that are proved in a logically weaker sense as defined in Aristotle's Topics. The school counselor and principal have vital roles within a school which have a significant impact upon the way a school functions. One area of pressing conflict within principal-counselor relationships is disagreement over the appropriate role and function of the counselor. In order to investigate perceptions of the counselor role, as well as the elements of healthy relationships between principals and counselors, the authors conducted an extensive literature review. The following themes were found within the literature and are discussed: 1) school counselor roles and responsibilities, 2) principal and school counselor collaboration, and 3) characteristics of effective school counselor/principal relationships. Project-based learning enhances student-motivation as it allows them to be in-charge of their learning experience. Ninth graders in a cross-disciplinary course (English and World History) use the theme of adolescent activism from young adult literature and the skill of collaboration from a study of ancient civilizations to propose a service-learning opportunity in their community. This essay explores how incorporating experiential pedagogy gives students the chance to make a difference in the community around them while also combatting global issues. Specific instructional strategies to be used for project or culture development are included. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

50. Modeling Topic Networks on Highly Specialized Scientific Production Foci: A Case Study.

How does scientific knowledge about specialized research topics develop structurally? Existing literature on knowledge production networks shows the topology of networks in science, but this work often uses sampling frames (disciplines and sub-disciplines) that fail to capture the specific object of inquiry as a key data-generating feature of publication activity. Such work also uses tie indicators (collaborations or co-citations) that poorly approximate the interconnected knowledge embodied by research with ties between actors instead of related content. This paper (1) advances two methodological innovations that could benefit studies of scientific production, (2) demonstrates these approaches in a case study in the biochemical sciences, and (3) discusses the benefits and limitations of this approach. Methodologically, I first argue that network samples defined by shared research objects rather than disciplines, subfields, or common keywords can yield novel insight into how ideas develop in topic-specific networks and reveal both existing and potential opportunities for knowledge exchange across disciplines with different semantic norms. I also propose that structural topic modeling can be used to derive the latent content of journal articles addressing a particular research object, and that such an approach has unique advantages for capturing the broader knowledge structure on a specialized topic over collaboration, co-citation, and shared keyword methods. I then demonstrate the empirical viability of this pair of methodological innovations using research in both chemistry and biomedicine about a specific protein. Results show that topic-specific papers in the chemistry and biomedicine communities are structurally distinct, and that such structural differences are associated with differing research practices in the case study. I discuss these exploratory results and consider the limitations of the novel methods that produce them, then briefly elaborate on how specialized knowledge network dynamics can be studied and tested in future research.
